Fishy Adventures: The Great River Journey | Wild Wild East 102

Each spring, millions of fish, including Shad and Gaspereau, swim from the sea into Nova Scotia's rivers to return to their spawning grounds. They enter through the Bay of Fundy and journey upriver to Grand Lake. Meanwhile, over 1,000 Double-Crested Cormorants gather at Pictou Harbour to feed on the migrating fish and raise their young. As the cormorants fish non-stop to feed their nestlings, they face threats from a stalking eagle. Along the Shubenacadie River, the Shad encounter obstacles like anglers and fishing traps before reaching the lake. Gaspereau battle the final challenge-a metal culvert-before arriving at their spawning destination.
