I had never heard about Brian Gillis but after watching this video, he just became one of my favorite close-up performers ever. He handles coins and sponge balls such a manner that it just amazing. Thank you for sharing.
you picked a great inspiration. He used to appear at the Magic Lantern restaurant and grill in Knoxville. Saw him within inches, unbelievable. He took an empty box and made a steel nut appear that must have weighed 5 lbs right in front of us. Awesome talent.
No. I met Vernon he was a great magicians magician, and came up with a lot of very good magic and techniques. He was also a very nice person. Vernon was never really a successful performer for a lay audience. When he was doing lectures for magicians, Paul le Paul, Burt Allerton, Frank Garcia, just to name three were out doing shows and making a living doing close up magic.
@@kammagic I have had 2 strokes over the past 35 or so years and I don't remember him at all. I grew up in Chicago my dad and mom had a Vaudeville and night club magic act. Later he had several magic shops at different locations. My goal was to do good magic like Don Alan and good card work like Jack Pyle. Drop by my youtube if your interested in more about me.

Amazing ! Thank you for this video as I didn't know this great magician existed before watching it.
Wow, that was some awesome magic!
Great compilation -- thanks! Note the WAY he says the sentence at 5:04 -- it's a tell.
Only to a magician and a magician should already know.

Fred Savage next to Jay Leno, looks like they're father and son together 😂
Dang Brian Gillis you are gifted ! & my mother's maiden name is Gillis, a nice classy name. Much like yourself !
I have no idea but I'm guessing there's something doing when he moves the sweet and low cup away from Doc.
OMG THIS IS AWESOME!
What did the person say before Reno said Thanks a lot?
4:25 just blew my mind
I can see how inspires you actually
you even have a voice that sounds like him
@redmoves2 Dai Vernon is a great magician of which there are many.
He was indeed. But some magicians seem to want to turn some magicians into Legends.
Buddy Hackett was still trying to figure out where he was.
do you consider Dai Vernon to be the father of close up magic?

That is funny, I don't remember him at all.
