I wonder if the reason Coraline cannot tap into the power of the eyes is because in order to use that power, it might require to give up something like maybe the users eyes. Remmeber how even when we see the beldam make real eyes for herself, there a copy of Mel's eyes! Not the Beldam's REAL eyes! Maybe that might explain the house being alive. I think to defeat the beldam, maybe one would need to find the beldam's eyes among surrounding illusions and set the beldam's eyes free.
That's a good theory. Changelings didn't have button eyes so maybe she was a changeling who sacrificed her eyes to gain more power or a human who sacrificed her eyes to become a changeling.
I love this theory.
10:20 The line about "even if you win, she'll never let you go" reminded me a lot of the Stephen King story 1408, where a notable line is when the room talks to Mike Enslin, the voice says "even if you leave this room, you can never leave this room". Which goes into the theory that Mike never escaped the room and was also trapped forever
The seeing-stone would not melt if it were made of stone but we see Spink ''create'' it out of the taffy dish. If it is made out of hardened taffy, then it would definitely melt.
The wedding dress is so gorgeous
The cat said nope I'm out of here and the beldam Falling down was so unsettling
For your idea of the beldam having another eye: I think she gave up her own eyes to power the house
'The eyes are the windows to the soul.'
Could you also analyze the deleted scenes cuz some of them really put the movie in a different light and you could also try and see if you can figure out where there suppose to be in the movies timeline
you forgot to mention that her head split into two. i was hoping you could explain that.
I assumed that Performing Spink and Forcible had painted their button eyes.
The picture in the hallway is definitely coraline’s room as you can see from the furniture, but it looks like a different angle of it, or maybe a previous version of it that the other ghost children had.
And also,I think the bug furniture are robots, that only the beldam can control (as seen with the other father, wybie) but unlike them, they have no control over er themselves bc they were created to obey, they can’t do anything because they were meant to be furniture, so it’s not like they can run and save Coraline. I don’t know, maybe I’m overthinking.
(and that’s why when the room was falling apart none of them could move.)
I still can’t get over how it looks like the cats eye is on the left of the beldam’s head when she gets kicked.. man
I'll have to go slow over that scene, I haven't noticed that!
@@TheFangirlWatches 18:13, it’s still a bit far fetched though but it’s so interesting
🖤MY FAVORITE SCENE!!!🖤
I love the lighting, sound, jerky motions, slicing and clicking sounds of the Beldam’s body. Ah, and when she talks about bringing Vermin and the sound of her voice when she says, “You know I love you.” Perfection! It’s just so good, gets me every time!!!
When you mentioned that the Beldam must have more eyes other than the kids (at least one more set), I wonder if it's Coraline's. She's probably been syphoning Coraline's energy throughout, or maybe it's to do with Coraline perceiving that world that gives it form - maybe that's what the eyes do? It lends a little to the "i'll die without you" screams as well...
For why Coraline doesn't use the power from the spheres, I think it's because she'd need to be magical like the Beldam to use it (like how Hades ember in Descendants 3 only worked for him and other people who were his blood but with being magical rather than blood) or it's something only the Beldam can use(like how Evie's magic mirror in Descendants only worked for her). Also for why the atter stone melted, it's because it's not stone, it's made of hard taffy.
I love how scary the beldams true form is. Amazing character design. Also, what you said abo7t the house being alive kinda reminded me of Monster House. Maybe the house is actually haunted by one more ghost 👀
What scares me the most is that Beldam's face splits when kicked. If anything, Theorizer noticed it and not me.
I think the seeing “stone” was able to melt because technically it was hair-pin carved/chopped out of old
Candy lmao
18:14 OMG! look at the beldam's face after Coraline kicks it! it splits in two! I'd never noticed that before!
I have a few possible explanations for some of the parts you questioned! These explications sort of angle more towards the “coraline escaped” side, but I still thought they might be neat!
The other mother herself could be a power source the way the ghost kids “eyes” are. She mainly stays confined to the pink palace (minus meeting coraline at the top of the stairs after the theatre show), so she could be powering the pink palace area. Which could explain why it didn’t go into the void.
For the bedlam losing her button eyes, it could be that since she had them physically removed- she may not be able to “regenerate” them as they could’ve been the original ones. Sort of a “as long as you have the original item, you can make illusions/new items” situation.
And lastly, the ghost kids may not have been able to help earlier because they weren’t “strong” enough. They had just been powering other attractions for who knows how many years, only to be yanked out suddenly. They might have needed time to “recharge”- and luckily, were able to recharge enough to help pull the door closed!
I’m not sure how much these may hold up, but it’s fun to think about!
Wait I just remembered- maybe the reason we only see six limbs in the Other Mothers final form, is because it’s *not* her final form. What if there was a scarier version that coraline didn’t get to see?
I can’t believe I actually passed that part on my own as a kid. 😭 it’s truly horrific in the game.
The breathing walls seem to stop breathing when the web appears as though all the magic is gone the other world is literally hanging together by spider thread. Also do you notice the beldams face split open when Coraline kicks her? I’ve all seen concept art of the beldam with a split face
0:39 looks like Zero the dog from Nightmare Before Christmas, on the left side of the screen.
Also there are several mouths with sharp teeth in this image.
I love the idea of the house being alive, like monster house movie
Got to the end and the last video is premium 😫
???
I watched to the end and did not see anything about this.
@@denisejeffries2675 are you a channel member? Also, I mean the series not this video. The last video of this playlist is exclusive 😒 wasted my time
I really don't think that even if Coraline thought of it she would have been able to use the ghost eyes powers mainly because I think they just hold the spirit of the child the real power is with the Beldam who's already consumed the soul if your theory here is correct the power wouldn't have to be the eyes themselves it's just something to distract and redirect Coraline.
If you watch back when coraline kicks the beldam in the face, the beldams face briefly splits open 😬😧
P.S Even if Coraline actually did get home……then when the Beldam was screaming behind the door, I remember hearing a comment stating that It’s almost like something was out to get the Beldam from behind the door. Like something was after her, hence why she got hysterical.
How tall do you think The Beldam is in her true form. When I googled it, it said 15 feet.
15 feet seems too high to me, maybe 8-9?
@@TheFangirlWatches I thought maybe 10 feet.
My tattoo ❤❤😂
I'm pretty sure the seeing stone was made out of candy
Did you notice that when Coraline kicks the beldam in her face at the door, the beldam's face splits in two. It re-seams together very quickly.
What if the beldam saying “I see you brought vermin” - meaning Coraline as opposed to the cat. And then why didn’t the beldom pierce her fingers in the cat when she supposedly doesn’t like him?
Then as for what the beldam could be, I think she could be a raspy cricket? They produce silk, are nocturnal (which is why the other world is always at night) - during the day they rest (which is why coraline couldn’t come to the other world when her “real” mother goes shopping), they are also omnivores, are wingless, & it has one of the most strongest bites of the insect world - hope that’s something to think about ☺️
Made it to the end🎉
I always thought it was interesting that the Beldam went completely blind once her button eyes were removed. I always felt she could see through ALL the button eyes, and there are still button eyes on furniture in her den. So shouldn't she have been able to see through them.
Also if the Beldam cannot manipulate space in the real world, how is she able to change the length of the tunnel when she is beating down the door? I feel at a certain point she would cross into the "real world" territory and couldn't change or create space anymore. It reinforces your theory that Caroline never actually escapes the other world.
OK, wanna call this out, but that looks very similar to the tunnel that Coraline escaped through the first time it even includes the little blue boys shirt
Also play references are everywhere almost as if they wanted us to realize this was all an act, and that none of this was real
I made it to the end 😄
There is a video game?
WHEN THE TUNNEL IS HEADED TOWARDS CORALINE THE BORING BLUE BOYS CLOTHES ARE AT THE ENTRANCE 😮
coraline 2 maybe we get the answer
hi
Here's a good one Coraline never found her parents because the beldam is her mom in disguise and near the end of the movie the beldam comes back with Charlie with snow on their clothes. And the beldam is a jurogumo a half woman and spider creature
Spiders can't live in extreme cold.
@@raven6565She's a jurogumo which means she can be in extreme cold
@TheDragonEmpress26 Jurogumo is a spider that has lived a thousand years and gained magic and more sentience. In their mythology, they typically are found in mountain regions, not of the cold snowy variety.
@@raven6565I know the mythology about the jurogumo and also in mythology that a jurogumo is a half woman with a spider's body and as seen in Coraline the beldam has two features a woman with a spider's body she also has eight legs near the end of the movie
@TheDragonEmpress26 It takes on a the features of a woman but isn't. In the breakdown of the video Megan says the Beldam has 6 limbs, not a spider's eight.
I'm sorry if it seems like I'm being antagonistic, that is not my intention.
Pretty sure some spiders have 6 legs
