The quote "Did you really think that killing me would be enough to make me die" sold me on this show as either a god tier irony or god tier so bad it's good.
"His parents see him through rose colored glasses as perfect in every conceivable way, and it just so happens that they are objectively right about that." - This had me on the floor.
"there's no use playing a 3D chess maneuver like this against someone who's already made the fourth dimension his bitch" that is one of the best lines in all your videos.
Fun fact: in the manga when anos meets the fanclub they all want his signature at the same time so in order to do that he stops time to give them his signature all at the exact same time

Also Anos's parents' smothering affection goes from a comedic gag to something a bit more desperate when you learn that his parents had been trying very hard to have a child, and the child that became Anos almost died before birth, except Anos possessed him. The author actually does put some thought into the reasons why his characters act in such absurd ways.

If you read the manga you know this is not ironic, the series is actually that disgustingly cringy. The anime just handles it better by being more self aware.
Aleksa Kurtovic Okay I understand that Mob Psycho 100 was very emotional and had a ton of good themes and messages, but One Punch Man is still very good. One Punch Man has way better humor and is still ongoing. They’re both by the same authors so you can expect the same amount of amazing characters and good story-telling. One Punch Man is more meaningless entertainment, but that is not to discount the story and ideologies that do exist in One Punch Man. Both are good. Depends what you’re in the mood for: heartfelt strokes or entertaining mania. TLDR; Basically both have components of each other, so both are good. Just depends on your taste.
Exactly!! You need to just do it! If you're going to "try" that means you have doubts about your ability to do it then those doubts are what will prevent you from doing it. Exactly like the star wars scene with Luke and yoda dealing with the sinking x-wing, you just have to do it don't question yourself.
I am willing to admit, without an ounce of shame, that I did not even think about the possibility of this being a joke and just unironically find Anos Voldigoad to be cool and badass. My chuunibyou has reawakened after twenty years of slumber.

Anos quotes: "Did you think you could kill me by stabbing my heart?" "Did you think you could stop me by stopping time?" "Did you think you could kill me just by killing me?" *WTF*
@@OrlandoDUG Anos is knocking it out of the park with the best quotes since Shirou Emiya's "People die if they are killed..." and "Just because you're correct doesn't mean you're right" (and honourable mention to Rin Tohsakas "The Archer class really is made up of archers!")
It's pretty neat because in essence, this is a thought experiment. Overpowered heroes in stories are almost never truly omnipotent to the point where they are devoid of personal goals. They either want to become even more powerful, they want to avenge someone, they want to save someone, they need to experience personal growth... Anos is a static character. He isn't getting any more powerful because he already has all of the power there is (though that doesn't mean he won't regularily produce some extra untold new powers just to show that he's had them all the time, too). Any development he ever had happened those 2000 years ago. Since Anos has no true aspirations left, the question becomes: What do now? In this case, the answer boils down to: 1: Finding out what in the hell (pun somewhat intended) happened while he was gone 2: Fixing all the things that have gone wrong as a result of what happened while he was gone I think Anos is also a well-written concept of perfection. The question is, how would a almighty character act? How would they treat their "peers"? Anos seems like a reasonable prediction in that regard. On one hand, he is incredibly arrogant. That's the expected the result of both knowing you are the best and not having to fear any social repercussions because you are the best. On the other hand, he's typically not rude or demeaning unless provoked. Since he is the best, he doesn't really have any motivation to be afraid and he knows that he cannot expect others to be on his level. Rudeness is typically a social power play, an attempt to attain dominance over another so they will either let you alone or do what you want them to do. But Anos is already dominant. Anos holds no prejudice because prejudice is usually dicated by fear. Anos has nothing to be afraid of and he knows it. It's interesting because Anos kind of dances around the whole Mary Sue issue. Mary Sues typically ruin stories by virtue of either being perfect when the setting cannot tolerate it, or being treated like they are perfect in spite of their flaws. Anos works because he is both written like a character who somehow has attained actual perfection and because the story fully owns up to it. He is all-powerful in a story where power is nothing more than a framing device that cannot fully determine the actual stakes.
See, the important thing about cruelty, discrimination, and invalidation is that those are the actions of someone who is insecure about their own self-worth and feels a need to put others down to feel better about themselves. Logically, the reverse makes perfect sense: Someone with absolute confidence and equal ability to back it up fundamentally has no logical reason to want to do such a thing. They have no motivation to hide behind ideas like inherent birthright or hierarchy because borrowing others to validate themselves is simply unnecessary. Building people up even as a hobby is at least interesting, because that adds some motivation to a life that's fundamentally been... won, at least from that person's perspective, because the outcome of tearing others down unprovoked is foregone. So, honestly? 10/10 depiction of a truly overpowered protagonist.
Hmm I wouldn't necessarily call him Arrogant per say but yeah he is cocky for sure. He acts high and mighty because no one stands a chance against him but he is also someone who isnt impressed with flattery alone. He likes to see people striving for their goals and believing that they can achieve them. that's the kind of people whom he likes to hang out with.
About the irony or comedy: In the early fight of the series, Anos kept resurrecting his opponent while explaining the limitation of the spell. He then jokes about the 5 second rule, but he then comments on how it fell flat for the entire in-arena audience. So, he is trying to be funny, but only we laugh at/with him.
I knew I was invested when the first big arc is literally him saving the twins and making it so that they can make up and be together. This is one of the few shows of this type where I'm actually convinced that the MC actually cares about the supporting characters. And it's not just the girls, he loves his parents and his new friend. All of the ridiculous over the top stuff is both hilarious but ALSO satisfying because most of it is being done in service of positive things for the supporting characters. I mean the last episodes had him repeatedly praising his father's sword in front of a huge crowd after winning a huge battle, which not only made his parents cry but ALSO saved his new friend's mom too. Something about that just feels so nice right now.
I think I understand his schtick, now. Sure, powerful, blah blah. His *real* selling point is "arrogant magnanimity" - the other big example in recent pop-culture memory is Maui from Moana.
@@diakounknown1225 My understanding is that the original Japanese also has the intent of "People dying when they're killed is a good thing, this isn't natural" and not "I'm going to state the obvious and make a meme."
I just love how self aware this series is when it comes to Anos being the biggest fucking chad in all the universes to the point where even people in the show have no idea how to process it. I mean it won't be winning any deep story awards but the characters so far are endearing enough and it's just a fun time, it's a good'ol "switch off and watch a badass do badass things" series and tbfh, we kinda needed that right now. On a related note, I want to see a duel between Anos and Iruma. The strongest offence vs the "impossible" to hit
I love it when the fan club is going nuts over Anos being in the same room as them, and the camera pans back to him with the most unflinching, self-assured face of: "Yes, that's the correct reaction".
Not sure if it's in the anime yet (and wa stalked about in this MB-Episode) but the Fan Club gets a true crowning moment of awesome where it's 1Million vs. 8.
In the manga anos makes an internal comment about how mom's home cooking may be the most effective weapon against him or something among those lines *the demon king of tyranny--defeated by his mom's soup*
I took Anos's trademark "you think..." comments as very large, very obvious winks at the audience. One big thing that makes Misfit so much fun to watch (beyond just chuunibyou giggles) is how it leans into the nonsense and plays it straight while *also* making clear that everyone else in the show itself finds Anos utterly absurd. You know he's ridiculous, and show knows he's ridiculous, but the show refuses to break character and openly admit that, so Anos himself just... is. The other piece that makes Misfit work is the writing of Anos. Like Saitama, his OP powers are less relevant to the story than his attitude and interactions with people. He seems just amused at people not recognizing him as The Badass of History, and his confidence (it's hard to call anything arrogance in his case after he casually bodies the god of time) lets him just ignore the more foolish social norms. At the same time, he clearly appreciates and enjoys his "parents" (whether he bears them filial love is maybe a different question), has a deep love for the people he still considers his subjects, and will subject you to a fate worse than death if you dare hurt them. The power he has is just a tool, and we watchers are more interested in what he's doing with it and why.
He does love them as his parents because they are the reincarnations of his original dead parents from his previous life so he's just happy to be living a (relatively) peaceful life with them.
The funniest thing to realize came today in episode 8 A demon who has been reincarnated recently can only use 10% of his original strength All the scenes where he effortlessly spins a huge castle or kills and ressurects some douche 7 times is him using not even a tenth of his power Wow, already 1.2K after a week Thanks everyone
@@bastion1999 The closest someone has come to defeating Anos was after they had drained half his magic and Anos had to protect his friend in another dimension which used up nearly all his mana/power 10% : 2 - (let's say) 2% = 3% Good job, you made Anos use 3% of his power.
I love how in the latest episode Anos literally pulls a "This isn't even my final form!!" and just get's 10 times more powerful for shits and giggles. Like he wasn't wiping the floor with everyone in the show at the same time with both hands behind his back already.
"He's just right about everything, and tells you that you're wrong, and then he wins." And you say the whole season's like this? Oh, goody, I'll take ten.
What I like about Anos is that he isn't some badass high schooler come from another world to slay the Demon King. First off, he IS the demon king, which isn't new. Obviously. But the key aspect of that which this series genuinely explores with some depth is the KING part. I'm not used to that. You see Anos and how he behaves and understand, "Oh, this guy was actually the king of a nation for a LONG time." He is charismatic, cares about his people, will wipe the floor with you if you question him and viciously punish you if you hurt his loved ones. I unironically like this series for its characters, because he is far from the only well-rounded member of the cast.
Hes an interesting character. Its strange to see a character these days who is a king and who isn't portrayed as a horrible monster, but is portrayed as the ideal of what a king would be. The scene where he used his fathers sword is especially great because it shows that Anos isn't just a selfish bastard who wants to be king because he wants power for himself, but rather that he IS the king and he honors his father just as his people used to (and will in the future) honor him.
@@Varlwyll Yes, for me. Anos is what a protagonist Demon King should be. He will assert his dominance if you (a demon) question his authority, he love his parent and doesn't mind them doting on him (I heard he never had a family in past live) so he indulge himself on the parental love. Many OP MC character are the typical I got into this world and somehow luckily I got OP power and suddenly these people made me a king of their community. What should I do when I go to war? The LN does better on the parents. He is embarrassed slightly by what they do but then he always thinks about how he enjoys having parents and lets them continue on.

I really watched this entire show not even realizing it was ment to be taken as a joke. It was genuinely awesome to me and I love Anos so much. He was a genuinely good man. My favorite moment is of course the moment he saved his mother. The RAGE. It was beautiful
For me, it was when he praised his father work in front of many people. That hit the feels, he did everything but he still appreciate his parent and never forget them.
the fact in the end even the world's greatest hero acknowledged him being his true hero is what hit really hard. No wonder he is a misfit. He is too good to be a demon. He and Kanon are true embodiment of how heroes should be.

Some demons are so powerful that the only way to defeat them is to destroy their source, requiring first killing their body physically, then eliminating them magically. That's not OP, that's just the lore of the world you're all watching with this series ... Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha has internal consistency and that's why I like it. First time I read the "three-second rule", I thought that this would be amazing ... hoped they don't fuck it up later on.
As I'm writing this, the show has ended. However, I'm pretty much half-expecting there to be a 14th episode with Anos opening the show saying: "Did you really think that just because the series ended I wouldn't have another episode?"
Oh man if there is an OVA where the two sisters try to beat each other to get his attention but he pretends not to care and teases them. Could be one of those fan service beach bikini episodes too.

I watched the first 7 minutes of this vid and it convinced me to watch the show. Not ashamed to say I did it all in one sitting. Loved every second of it.
ehh I mean technically in universe reincarnation is a regular thing, powerful enough beings can have their souls/sources brought back if they wish but just that it's relatively rare for memories to remain intact...so like in this case I assume they would just go by the age of his soul?...which would technically mean he's the criminal here, hmm. Demon laws must be really bloody awkward to actually police
@@nightshrine4257 he does. In his own class range. If he breaks his limiter he'll lose his passion, just like Saitama did. He's a necessary foil for the series as the personification of it means to be a hero. The whole point of the story is that a hero isnt defined by physical power, but passion and dedication.
17:37 ain't that quite literally what created modern Yakuza? Outcasts and misfits that were banished from society due to being half-Korean or half-Chinese, banding together and forming what would turn into powerful criminal organizations?
This is how they often write Superman stories: when your hero can punch a planet out of orbit, you have to give him a task with serious consequences that he can't just solve by flexing on it.
In Main Character Hides his Strength the protagonist is the strongest in physical combat and basically invincible in defense but the only way to break the curse and save the world is to learn how to kill the demon king with magic, because he made himself ethereal.

It's rare that a so-called parody actually demonstrates how a subgenre can be done right, but here we are. Rewatching this is a joy and Anos' family is relationship goals personified.
TBH I’m convinced this show is more Birdemic than OPM myself, but that moment in episode 7 where the MC beats the shit out of his teacher and turns her into a minority for being racist was comedy gold.
Like, if the teacher just died, that probably would’ve just killed the series for me. Outright murder is usually a good indicator of incoming edginess, so Anos using a privilege removal beam instead just made this show perfect.
It’s even better because A) we get a great “CHECK YOUR PRIVILEGE” moment and B) he doesn’t even see her as anymore than a gnat, so why bother killing her
@@thorsal6208 oh sorry. English ain't my primary language. Tho I think it will be more matured to not laugh at someone's else grammatical error, it just makes you look stupid and childish. You could do better than that.
Having seen the show and watching this again for fun, I feel I should say: Part of the reason Anos goes along with all his parents doting may have to do with his own mom being killed by humans 2000 years ago, so he's probably just happy to still have them around. Which makes what a certain teacher does later all the more infuriating for him.
Yes, he is indulging himself on the parent love and he doesn't shy when showing his love to his father and to his mother. For the first time ever, I ever related to an MC protagonist.
That's because he never got to meet his pre reincarnated parents Graham a human killed his parents celis voldigoad and Luna voldigoad..celis asked someone to remove memory of anos of him so that anos wouldn't think of getting revenge for his father and would lead a world full of peace
I'd say it would go so far that if someone would kill Sasha or Misha he would laugh about how cute it was trying to kill them, the ressurect them and let them kill the enemy but if said enemy would kill (or even hurt) his parents, he wouldn't so much as crack a joke, killing the enemy twice and a third time from time.
I’m sorry but every time the line “Necron sisters”, or their respective last names get dropped, all I can see within my minds eye are spoopy space robot skeletons.
There are so many things I like about this show. Mostly it's the fact that Anos is unflappable. The show goes all in with the "perfect MC" trope. It gets old when a character has unbelievable god powers, but gets embarrassed if a girl looks at him or is clumsy or nervous all the time, or doesn't want to show off his powers for some reason. Anos is refreshing because of his confidence. But what balances that out is his kindness. He loves his parents, cares about his friends, and doesn't really subscribe to petty vengeance, which makes it really easy to root for him. Also I love the fan union. They are insanely over the top, but you need an insanely over the top fan club to match an insanely over the top MC. They have such absolute faith in him that it doesn't matter what he says, they just immediately do it. "Oh you need us to sing in order for you to do battle...say no more, we have the perfect song for that." No questioning, just, whatever you say demon king. And the fact that they were willing to risk their lives to protect his mother is what makes them so amazing. There was no second thought, no hesitance; they were totally willing to sacrifice themselves. That's true devotion, and Anos honored that devotion too, which was a nice touch.
He's a satire of 'that' kind of anime protagonists, but at the same time he's somehow the opposite and genuinely badass. He's basically the other side of Ainz Ooal Gown.
To be honest I don't see "fan-service" in the traditional way there. But what do I know, I see in kill la kill way less fan-service then most people, so idk...
I went into this series with extremely low expectations but over the course of the first few episodes I found it to be the show I most anticipate watching every week.
not to mention the fact that his true power is still sealed, based on light novel. His multidimensional destructive powers is still sealed so its not too boring,m xd
4:18 Hey hey hey! The dub is strait up bonkers ok? It's honestly some of the funniest shit I've seen recently because it feels more like an Abridged series than anything.
A number of quotes that can apply to Anos: "Check your priviledge"-anonymous "Do not cite the deep magic upon me witch, I was there when it was written" - Aslan "My stick is born from a log, everyone can see it's better than bacon" - Yoda "That was funny in my days" - some old guy "The moment he was born, he spoke to his mother, naming himself and asking for his father, grabbed his father's bolo and went to kill his father's killers" - and old epic from the Igorots "The more you exist, the more the laws of this universe gets defied" - some MC's ally, probably " it will take then 3(?) Steps before they realize I am ten steps ahead" - Swain.

I’m quite glad i gave this a try because of your “everything to watch this season video” because it really has been hilarious. The castle basketball spinning bit just killed me.
I believe he is the Most Savage MC I have ever seen in terms of Strength, Action, & Attitude. When he gives 0 F, its absolute 0. When he actually cares its always above 100. There is no middle ground with him. This is a shining example of a True Demon Lord/King/God.
Great summary - you know, I'm starting to believe that liking something ironically is just the brain's way of tricking itself into eventually liking it unironically. I mean, how many "ironically offensive" Internet communities have we seen transform into legitimately hateful ones? ...and how many "hate watch shows" have I ended up actually enjoying???
Thanks for the vid, this show was really fun to watch. My favorite scene: "I've placed a curse on you that reincarnates you as a hybrid no matter how many times you die, perhaps that'll change your perspective."
Honestly one of the best moments of characterization imo. It's one of the first moments where you actually go, "Oh, right, old man jokes aside this guy was the undisputed King of All Demons. You don't hold that title with patience alone."
I really do wonder what happened to her. Wonder if he's gonna go free her from some dungeon her family threw her into (a likely outcome, at least before the final. But then, the final was so final, there probably won't be anything after.)
@@Hazerithious He never was a villian, at least in terms of his species. The war was basically him trying to fight for survival, and being dissatisfied with the status quo so he fought. Well, apart from the time when he accidentally fired a large scale destruction magic in town because he was groggy. Then again, people were hardier back then so i doubt it was actually very terrible, at least from the snippets of world building from his old timer jokes. After slaying most of the gods, he was pretty much happy with what he's accomplished and he knew to accomplish the peace he desired, he had to 'die', or at least, the 'demon king' had to die, for he was the instigator of the 'deaths' of many. The hero also knew that too, unlike most heroes are portrayed in light novels, powerful but ignorant of the truth. From what I know, the hero and the demon king were looking forward to the era that was to come after the demon king 'perished'.
@@julianying98 Eh, he kinda was the villain. If I remember correctly, the war got a lot worse due to his actions. He enslaved the god of destruction and turned him into his castle, which made the gods actively participate in the war instead of just idly helping the humans.
@@julianskilton200 In life, one way or another, you will become the 'villain' in someone else's life. Life has always been a fight for survival. When one gains, another loses. It's not like everybody can have a small piece of land and grow their food there to survive, it works, but when you get to a certain point where there's too many people and too little space, competition will have to happen, because a certain amount of space can only feed so many before sharing can't feed everyone. And when you can't feed everyone, food really is a matter of life and death. War is a grossly overblown competition that went too far, because intelligent life doesn't move just according to logic, but also emotion. And emotion can blow things out of its original proportion when it accumulates enough. Some prefer more peaceful methods like negotiation, others go straight to the point like threatening, all to fulfil their desires because intelligent life isn't interested in just surviving, they want to thrive, to 'have a better life'. When all else fails, life, no matter how intelligent, will turn to the most basic and yet most absolute method in nature : violence. Unsavoury and uncivilised, yes. But you cannot deny that almost all life subsists at the expense of others. Pretty much only plants, decomposers and some bacterias that subsists only on compounds/elements, survive without taking from others. Plants absorb sunlight which is given out by the sun whether they want it or not, as wells as nutrients from the earth. Decomposers, as the name suggests, break down aby manner of complex compounds (of course, according to their tastes/needs) from many things, namely dead bodies, producing the nutrients required to fertilize the earth, while using some of the products and leftovers to survive. The aforementioned bacteria are some of the hardiest bacteria, capable of surviving almost anywhere as long as certain requirements are met. An example would the bacteria able to survive in the volcanic vents deep in the depths of the ocean over a 1000m deep on the sulfuric compounds found in the magma. On average, the atmospheric pressure is about the same as the pressure exerted on you by the water when you dive 10m deep into the water. 1000m is at least 100 atmospheres worth of pressure +1, acting on all side of an object. Enough to make a solid nuclear submarine look like it was made out of playdoh. My point is, villain or not, each living being is advancing their interests. The world has never been black or white, only grey. And also the myriad of colours that can be seen with our eyes.

“Let’s not talk about that dub” Imagine not absolutely enjoying every line Ian Sinclair delivers as the Narrator from the Kaguya dub. He’s an entirely different character and amazing in his own right.
My favorite part about this anime is how the MC literally does not give a shit. He already knows he’s at the peak and just drags out situations for fun.
I just finished the light novel and in the Afterword it turns out that the author is fully aware that the tropes are cheesy and cliche, but he enjoys them and just wanted to explore a story where, “All my preferences are on display.” Which, respect. That’s what art should be. I think most power fantasies are cringe because the author is trying to be badass, but in this case he’s just having fun and it shows both in the LN and in what the LN has been able to inspire.
I literally read a comment thread about this on a piracy site the other day. One argues that Saitama is meant to be a satire of heroes which means that he can beat anyone with zero exceptions however Anos is capable of destroying rules itself which means that he can beat Saitama's rule of being undefeatable for satire's sake, and then the debate became circular arguments saying that Saitama should be able to beat Anos because Satire and Anos breaks all rules so he can beat Saitama. This is literally the chicken or the egg argument.
The best part is that the show doesn't really care if it's viewed seriously or as a parody. They just decided it would be fun to write a character with zero flaws and unlimited strength. Death can't kill him, stopping time doesn't slow him, and he goes along with everything without losing his confident smile. It feels like this is really what would happen if a God level character lived long enough. There are never stakes for him, he can easily defeat anyone, teleport to his allies and resurrect them, and has unlimited world knowledge. Since there are no stakes, he just has some fun and puts others through tests. He sees his enemies as lab rats, will they press the button to receive food or try opposing his system and starve? This makes the story a series of events where I watch to see what bs solution he comes up with next. Sure, he could just defeat everyone opposing him in seconds. However, it's much more entertaining to fight a master swordsman with a twig on the ground.
And the other half of it is that he keeps genuinely expecting someone else to at least be clever enough to be a mild amusement and mostly being disappointed. Finding Lay is huge for him, and he fights the guy with a stick not because he's smugly superior but because he wants it to be a contest of swordsmanship and not raw magical might. What's even crazier is that nobody being able to challenge him is explicitly because he has love while most of the others don't. Like, Lay is someone who he takes seriously, even if he does use a stick to compensate for the fact that he has much more raw magical power than Lay available at the time, and it's no coincidence that Lay loves his mother. Sasha loves Misha even if she shows it oddly, the fan union were a friend group as much as a politically active one even before they became a fan club, even the thousands of clone daughters are all loved by their mother; _these_ are the people Anos takes seriously. People who posture, who hate, who use their social standing to put down others to make themselves relatively stronger-these people can never achieve the kind of strength he had, and seeing them try after fighting people who had true conviction and fought for the sake of their own loved ones in his past life? It's no wonder he looks down on them. It's not just that they're worse at fighting than him, but that to him, they're not truly taking things seriously either.
I'd say that his one flaw is that the only thing he's undisputedly the best at is destroying things. He's obviously way better at pretty much everything than everyone around him but he makes it pretty clear that with enough time and talent there are other people who can be better at certain things.
@@chilfang2422 exactly! His greatest flaw is that others can surpass him in everything but his specialty, but no one (who stands against him at least) has the talent, willpower, and/or motivation to find their specialty and push it past Anos' limit / to their own limit, thus while he theoretically has a number of weaknesses he effectively has 0 weaknesses since no one has actually reacted his level in anything.
@@NXTangl It is literally what he says in episode one when he straight up kills the arrogant pureblood and his brother, then unkills them a lot longer than three seconds after the fact. And again when what he asks is whether the twins are close to Ivis, and again when he saves them. The thing he values above all else is the ability to genuinely value others and cultivate relationships sincerely rather than judging people arbitrarily based on a hierarchy of strength. That gives him the insight needed to correctly evaluate people without bias - including himself, knowing fully well that fair opportunity and genuine confidence are necessary to bring out someone's potential.
dude he has flaws he is just not afraid to hide them. furthermore while its true the initial volumes of ln were more over the top and the later volumes are more serious and just shows how much the world truly hated Anos especially the gods and yet none of that truly ever bothered him as long as his people were safe and were at peace.
The greatest strength of this show is that depending on how the author interprets his story, it’s either so bad it becomes amazing or it’s just amazing. So big W’s
Him Lifting a castle with only one finger is literally, canonically, him only useing 10% of his full power. In episode 8, it's revealed that until that episode, he has only been using 10% of his full power. So unless you're using episode 8 clips in this video, everything you see is him only using 10% of his max power.
to be fair we have no idea exactly how much power he used to yeet the castle, but given it was extremely shoddy by his standards (only defended from magic, and not very well) i doubt he used 100% of his power (at that period of time, using 100% would still only track to 10% overall). In fact, its safe to say that the only parts where he needed to actually try was the fight against the God of Time and in ep 8

In this case, the answer boils down to:
1: Finding out what in the hell (pun somewhat intended) happened while he was gone
2: Fixing all the things that have gone wrong as a result of what happened while he was gone
I think Anos is also a well-written concept of perfection.
Well worded thesis.
About the irony or comedy:
In the early fight of the series, Anos kept resurrecting his opponent while explaining the limitation of the spell. He then jokes about the 5 second rule, but he then comments on how it fell flat for the entire in-arena audience.
So, he is trying to be funny, but only we laugh at/with him.
He does that "2000 years ago people thought that joke was great" thing several times. He's telling *dad jokes*.

And it's not just the girls, he loves his parents and his new friend. All of the ridiculous over the top stuff is both hilarious but ALSO satisfying because most of it is being done in service of positive things for the supporting characters.
The funniest thing to realize came today in episode 8

So this dude has the power of Saitama, Arrogance of Gilgamesh, and the hair of almost every current anime Protagonists but cooler

@@dandanthedandan7558 This is the unstoppable force vs the
immovable object all over again
smoothmasterz neither, if the two fought every universe in the vicinity would collapse in on itself
