@@Thiccness_Is_Delicious Not a problem if you have people flooding into your country in search of a better life. Cultural destabilization is really overblown, as most people don't keep practicing the majority of their culture after a few generations in a new country.
@@holo6883 not really, over population is no longer a problem for most 1st world countries with people having less and less children. The same birth rate decline crisis is scheduled to hit America in the next 10 years. I blame all y'all niggas hunching over the keyboard talking about how impossible it is to get a gf when all you needed to do was get out of your man cave and go outside.
Kokoro wanted to have a baby so badly that she stopped thinking. She didn't give a second thought about how the adults won't allow them to have a baby putting themself and the child life in DANGER and Not to mention that she was just 14🤦🏻♂️
Kokoro: ooooo i want babi give me babi Also kokoro: consequences whats that still want babi doe (This was a joke but honestly she's one of my least favorite anime characters because later in series she gets really annoying)
Even though the reapers are just "machine squid bad" they are at least threatening as a villain I still remember after ME1 when Shepard killed their first Reaper, it took a massive army and future knowledge from the race before to kill it and I had no idea how would they win the war against thousands
Fuck I missed when the Reapers were shown as such an impossible threat. Even ME2 had you wondering how the hell we were going to stop them. Then we get to ME3 and the color pillars within the Citadel bullshit.
So they gave us best girl Zero Two who's sterile? Because let's be honest, a year have passed and she's the most remembered part of the show (that awful ending aside), still selling a lot of figures and getting a ton of fanarts.
@@burrito2526 Yes/no. It's not so much overpopulation, as it is trying to get the target audience (15-24 year old men) to have actual relationships with real women (or men, whatever). The digital relationship problem is probably the worst (if not in the top five) there in the whole world because of the technology, and lack of human interaction.
Every time I examine this show, I feel like the first arc (1-15) was written as a full season and the rest of the series was made up on the spot after they found out that the series was going to be 24 episodes.
OMG, if only that had happened!! It would have given them more time to flesh out the second half and make the plot more solid and consistent, and hopefully would have avoided the shitfest that was the last 3 episodes
Sambou Jaiteh I feel like initially it was pitched as 2 seasons of about 15-18 episodes. However some management stuff likely affected it right when it started or soon before. It just sucks since the show could have been way better with 19-24 as a full season of like 12 episodes
They tried to mesh together evangelion, gurren lagann, Fox news, Hayao Miyazaki, cartoon Network, mcu, and last but not certainly least sex lots and lots of sex
Darling in the franxx is like a phone charger, you find it pretty good and enjoyable, until that time when you have to untangle it in the dark, you don't know how it happened or what to even do in that moment
The reason this ending worked for Gurran was because Gurran was an insane anime. It was so weird and bizarre that by the end, the fact that a galaxy sized (and eventually universe sized) mech piloted by practically an entire government was fighting the collective conscience of an entire alien race in a similarly sized mech was completely normal. Darling in the Franxx provided insightful commentary on Studio Trigger(and its past as Gainax). It wasn't the same mood, so them recreating the ending to Gurran (on a smaller scale but still pretty big( True Aegis is about the size of Super Galaxy Gurran Lagann)) Was completely out of place and complety ruined the show's identity. If this show was the same tone as other Studio Trigger shows then they could have gotten away with it, but in the end the ending felt like a completely different show
Hell, Gunbuster managed to blend fanservice, combining Mecha, and drama, with all three culminating in the protagonist ripping her shirt off to pull the upper quantum reactor out of Gunbuster's chest and finish the job. Even the bad guys are literally completely without known motivation.
Gurran Lagan's ending goes beyond the simple explanation that the anime was insane. The whole narrative is about overcoming obstacles, with the repeating theme that each obstacle was put in place because of some higher authority. The local overseers are assholes? They were put in place by the local warlord. The local warlord is cruel? They get their legitimacy from a planet-wide government. The planet-wide government is intentionally trying to hold people down? They are only doing it under threat from a galactic scale shadow-government. And finally that galactic-scale shadow government is only running their racket out of fear of spiral energy destroying the universe. The whole series is focused on the revolutionary spirit (aka, "Ra ra fight the power"). Local problems are caused by systemic problems, but the answer is not to back down but to destroy the entire system, up to and including reworking the entire universe. In short, the escalation at the end may look crazy but it does build on the show that came before in a thematically logical way.
@@luminocuratoria1335 No I cried too, But it wasn't until I recently watched it again that I was disappointed with the last four episodes. It could have been loads better, but hey, What can we do.
To me, the ending is tragic for Hiro and Zero Two because they don't get to explore or experience their love as they lived it. Their whole lives were suffering and people keeping them apart. The hope that they'd get AT LEAST 5 min of on-screen happier ever after was the only reason I stuck through the story all 24 episodes. But seeing them spend years in space together but physically apart just to die and be forced to start over just left a void for me.
You know what, I agree with this. It never felt like they together on that trip, more like a bomber pilot talking to his wife over the radio on a suicide mission. Sure they are “together” but it never felt like it.
Pretty sure “love’s good, have babies” is exactly the intended message. Also “sex is powerful.” All three of these are of pivotal importance in Japan, as I understand it.
I watched the anime and it basically went like this Up until ep 19 damn this is pretty good Ep 20-24 *brain has left the chat* When I was done: wait what just happened
@Siddhu Lamperouge Eh, I didn't mind the more SoL-y episodes, but the flashback episode is where the downhill began. Parts of it were interesting, but it could've been better. And then the space shit and the prayer circle happened.
The final arc of this show reminds me of Deus ex project snow blind ❄️ It was rushed poorly executed and it had forced tear jerkers in it that only Brought laughter
The direction they were taking was different so I think a second season would be the same thing with the same stupid reasons but more detailed but still fucked up
Cryogen honestly it didn’t need a second season it prolly needed half a season and I would have been more satisfied that’s that god awful of an ending but I still love this anime
Legit thought the season ended on like episode 13 when Hero and Zero 2 reunite. Didn’t actually continue watching because I thought that was it and that we were going to have to wait for a new season. Now that it’s done and everyone is talking about the ending, I’m just sitting here like: “did I dodge a bullet? Because that episode was a good way to end a season, imo”
FluteGeek You are lucky dude. Like the other two already said: Episode 15 is the last really good one. Me and others have to live with a broken heart now, because they ruined the whole outcome and plot of the show with the rushed rewriting of the script
I took a break from DARLING in the FRANXX after ep 19, but then came back to finish it to watch this vid. If you had never mentioned it, I would have completely forgot about Zero Two's quirky personalty and the sexual innuendos at the start of this show. DARLING in the FRANXX feels like 24 different people directed 24 different episodes.
Her personality definitely changed after ep 15. She lost her quirkiness. They shouldn't of done that, it completely took away from her character and the show
Loved this anime enough to binge it, had to leave for a while after 17 but really wanted to get back to it, finished the series and one of my only thoughts was "what a waste of a day" Haven't been kicked this hard since Magi's manga finished with its own shit fest
the first 15 or 16 episodes were amazing but it pulled a complete 180 out of nowhere. Darling in the Franxx you were an excellent student with a 100 in the class and then you skipped the last 2-3 weeks of class and bombed the final exam. you still passed with like a C+ or a B-, but why did you do that?
@Pipehiguita Well your opinion is different from mine, so by the laws of the internet outlined in the ancient codes of Windows 95, we are now mortal enemies... I think
I see Darling in the Franxx as a friend you grew to know deeply and together you cared for each other until one random they broke the law and were sent to jail for a decade. But hey maybe one day they can redeem themselves? Second season?
Yea, I was enjoying the anime And when I saw the giant franxx I was like H O L Y S H I T But when 002's face appeared I laughed like hell because it looks so bad and the fact they the ending was incomplete because I thought they would get back getting praised like gods, instead they die turning into ghosts spinning in a circle to oblivion
I was also really sad that they didnt get to go back to earth and see all there friends and end if like that , I feel like the creators need to go back and redo this because it can be so much better
Lol to bad its not as popular as Darling in the franxx. All you haters hate. If you don't like it stop watching reviews on it. If it's so baddd, then why don't you watch something else.
great animation and art style? there's nothing objectively impressive about the animation in this anime, art style is subjective but that also feels like every generic anime ever
Cuz honestly as much as this shits the bed, there are a lot of really bad anime that get heralded as good. Fuck everyone thought SAO was good until a few reviewers were like "wait guys its bad" and then public opinions changed and now SAO is "the worst anime ever"
I'd give it a five. All I'm hoping for at the last three episodes was that the series ends well, and it can't even give me that. Looks like I wasted about 8 hours of my life on this...
Maybe you should fix the problem, and not the symptom. It's quite obvious to me that the Japanese are way too bound to their work. If they want their society to have more babies, you need to give them a chance to actually raise them.
Exactly. It's absurd to have such a hate-on for gay people 'because no kids' but then just ignore the horrible culture of over-work that is legitimately the reason for a lot of the issues. Or maybe it's just easier to hate some minority group than come to grips with larger social problems. That's, uh, not unheard of in history anywhere.
Heck, even the pregnancy had no effect on the plot of the story, eventually all able ladies became pregnant anyway, and the Kokoro-Mitsuru couple was intact at the end of the show! They could just have made a teenage love story about the couple. And how the hell could they have sex the whole night in the hostel without anyone noticing? If the APE was serious about getting no kid to have any romantic-emotion, then why did they allow such a huge interaction between the opposite sex, so much that they were allowed to stay under the same roof, even during night?
yeah to be honest the pregnancy sub plot feels kinda unnecessary to the plot since it doesn't really progress that far in it's story, and speaking of plot elements that has little to no effect on the plot I got one, I know it's very controversial but I'm gonna say it the franxx themselves: they don't do really anything with the besides episode 1,3,4,6,9,11,12,15,19-24(15 episodes, really ep 2 can be pretty much be removed and nothing in the story would have changed ) and even then most of the time they just fight normally with their combat weapons(We don't even get to see more of Stampede Mode outside of episode 1,11 and 15)
ShadowJr Fincher I don't think the pregnancy was unnecessary: it was inline with the themes of sexuality and individualality and fit in nicely to the subplot of breaking away from papa; but it wasn't followed through very well and the ending in general was so poorly executed.
angel calderon i agree with you there it was a nice subplot away from the main papa plot but it was poorly executed, it would have been better if it had a sightly faster pace
The kokoro and mitsuru pairing was just dumb in general felt very forced kokoro picking the asshole mitsuru over that fat guy who atcually likes her treats her well and took the time to get to know just didnt make sense
I'd love to see Darling remade and have a couple seasons. I wanna see it follow them from where the original left off, I wanna see 002 and hiro grow up together, watch them go through things typical kids/teens go through. I wanna see them grow up together, get into fights and have emotional moments. I wanna see DARLING in the franxx not "rubber ball in the rubber room". Imo if someone ever decided to "make a season 2" or reboot it, they need to do it as a romance, like I said, pick up where 002 and hiro are kids and end the final season with them laying in each others arms as they pass. I wanna see 002 get the romance she deserves, not this "look, tits" bullcrap.
Idk if u have but u should read the manga adaptation. It have most of the same plot points before episode 19 except shuffles them around and basically make them better. For example kokoro isn’t a wh*re and ichigo isn’t a b*tch. Also aliens isn’t there so it’s quite a bit better
The whole "we're going to space to fight aliens" bit ruined the suspension of disbelief. They should've stayed on Earth. At least for the rest of the season. The writers rushed things too much and really screwed themselves over. If they made a season 2, what the hell would it even be about? They literally tied *all* of their loose ends. I even felt like the side characters were more interesting than Hiro and Zero Two in the 2nd half. I didn't care about Hiro and his monster waifu fighting a hive mind, I actually cared more about seeing Ichigo and the gang rebuild society. Probably because Zero Two had no qualities anymore and Hiro becoming a klaxosaur had no repercussions. But then again I'm a sucker for some slice of life. Still a massive waste of potential. Sad that they took the same route as SAO. Side note: what the hell is with all the forced romance? Mitsuru and Kokoro found love out of thin air and Ikuno fell in love with Ichigo as if the writers were dropping hints all season. The Goro and Ichigo stuff was fine but what the hell, why not focus more attention on Futoshi getting over Kokoro since he was balling his eyes out half the time? Poor writing.
Im glad someone else mentioned sao. U can see Asuna and Zero Two are basically the same. Both had somewhat interesting characters till a certain point and then just poof
Also true that a lot of the side character romances were forced. I legit hoped for Mitsuru and Kokoro to regain something but they found love anyway cuz of......... **shrugs**
When I think back to it, kokoro had little to no connection with Mitsuru in the past. The reason why they got together was because she read a book about sex. BUT WHY NOT WITH FUTOSHI?!! I mean she had a stronger relationship with Futoshi anyways.
To be fair, they had been dropping various hints about Ikuno and Ichigo throughout eps 1-15. I really have no qualms at all with 15-19, even if it wasn't the same as the peak of the series with 14-15. What would've been ideal (or better at least) would be a rebellion arc against papa with squad 13 facing off the nines as the final boss. and nine alpha in the end either dies for papa or has a redemption arc where he turns against papa. then a season 2 where we actually go into klaxosaurs and whatnot, all the loredump of episode 19 but presented better.
I've never been big on Eva, still not, still not going to watch, it's really not my thing, but even I, from just what I'd absorbed from popular culture and the bits I gleaned over time, knew Franxxxxxxx was an Eva clone, and an inferior, offensive Eva clone, for that matter.
"[...] I don't even want to imagine what a few hundred meters of lipstick and eyeshadow would cost" That's... I .... *wheeeeze* Man, you had me so bad. Couldn't stop laughing Also THANK YOU FOR POINTING THAT OUT!!!!! THE END WAS A F*CKING MESS!!!!!!!!!!!

Gurren Lagann? No no no... Try Gunbuster. > Child soldiers > Going through puberty > Planetary Bomb > Enemy in the far edges of the galaxy > Two-person Sacrifice > Two persons return to Earth in the far future The only thing missing is a "Welcome Back" lightshow A mech with a realistic person face? Fast forward to the 2000s and have Diebuster including > the inability to pilot after reaching an arbitrary age > first aliens actually being allies after a reveal of other evil aliens > evil aliens are a returning menace from a distant past
they find out that the claxosaurs are peoples and then they fight the organization. so pull a kill la kill instead of a gurren lagann. do it with fighting already established characters. also show dr.franxx opposing the rest of the adults. pretty much pull a kill la kill but ryukos dad is dr. franxx. and ryuko is the children. that seems to work in my head
They shouldn't have given us that episode with the doctor explaining everything either. His motive didn't align with the world they lived in and that created a massive disconnect.
Now my brother, remember studio trigger stems from gainax, which made Gurren laggan, and trigger also made Kill la Kill. now how did those 2 shows end? Big battle inSPACE the difference tho, they NAILED the ending, this didnt
Your show isn't good because it has galactic sized mechs. It's good because the way those mechs are incorporated makes sense with the overall narrative of the show.
Actually at a convention some staff of Studio Trigger said that they have some conflicts between the 3 Studio and that Cloverworks has done all the episode after 17, and we all know that Cloverworks are very young and very unexperimented, just the the mess they have done with Persona 5. And the most sad parts is that "The Promised Neverland" anime is gonna be made by Cloverworks :-(
Well, there's a difference between poor adaptation and poor source material. I did not read/play nor watch Persona 5 (or any of the others for that matter) but what I get from your comment is that the studio in question didn't justly animate the story. However, that is different from derailing the direction of the plot and narrative itself which you are implying. They don't believe they dictate what happens in the story definitively, just how it's received by the audience. If the story was changed in the animation, it's very likely the change was out of their hands for the most part. But hey I could be wrong, it's not like I work there.
I would’ve died inside if 02 and Hiro come back decades after they leave and the only person who sees them is Mitsuru and Kokoro’s kid. When they ask about the old squad the child (now turned adult) takes them to the graves of squad 13, fulfilling their promise (which was to revisit squad 13 again).
honestly if the yellow haired w/ glasses dude (forget his name) died trying to save ichigo and ichigo cofessed to him right as that happened, that would be an amazing moment that could have been a semi ending. or if 02 and hero somehow ended up in purgatory and had to make adventures to get to heaven or whatever, even this would make the story a bit better knowing that no one is perfect.
After rewatching Darlifra and coming back to this, I've decided: the first half of the series was a delight and you can pry my enjoyment of it and my Zero Two cosplay from my cold, dead hands. I also still found myself crying at the finale anyway, specifically the "reincarnation" of Hiro and Zero Two due to my love of a Chinese song, "Tong Hua," whose lyrics I couldn't help but think of. I also cry at just about anything whoops.
E x a c t l y how I feel. I loved it, although the second half did feel rushed and random, I feel like it would've been good too if it was spread over more episodes, more seasons..The ending still made me bawl my eyes out though, idk if it's just me but I feel like that would be better as a season 2 or maybe 3 ending I dunno. Either way I can't stop loving ditf 😭
I completely agree with what you're saying. Basically every word of it were my thoughts exactly. Yet I was one of the few people you mentioned in the beginning who was still able to enjoy it. I loved almost everything about its first part, and even though the second part wrecked its world-Building and scale, I was still able to remain emotionally invested in the characters and appreciate those heartfelt moments. It's cheesy, corny, and filled with some bullshit writing, but after seeing all the characters at their best, I couldn't help myself feeling pleased with the epilogue and really feeling like these characters deserved a happy ending after all the shit they had to go through. Hate me if you want, but this is how I felt, even after 99% agreeing with everything this video says. I accept this anime and all of its flaws and recognize that the final parts of it were FAR from perfect, but I still enjoyed it and don't regret investing my time into it.
I finally got around to watching Franxx this week, and I really feel like this series was crushed under its own hype. I had no serious expectations of it thanks to its reputation, and I ended up really enjoying the show and wondered if I was missing something. It wasn't the most amazing show I've ever seen, but I was actually shocked that some people felt so passionately about plot points and characters that just made sense to me. Even the ending theme of "love conquers all" was kind of expected, seeing as from episode one the show hinted at love and personal relationships being the driving force of the plot. I guess if I did have one real complaint, it would be the lack of build-up to Papa's reveal. I don't mind the twist itself, but it didn't feel super intentional with the way it was portrayed and I would have loved to see some more dystopian clues and some more distrust towards Papa before everything went to hell. I would want more episodes like when Zorome was accidentally separated from the group and met one of the lonely, sedated citizens of the city. It would have tipped more people off that the paradise they wanted so badly to be part of wasn't what it seemed. I remember having a raw feeling in my gut after that episode, and it really clued me into smaller details that kind of lead to the big twist, but there wasn't anything solid that felt like an actual clue. I gave it an 8/10, I think it's really good if you don't give it too much pressure to change your life.
That moment when Trigger doesn't save anime... Edit: In case people don't get this, it's a joke. Satire on the fact that whenever Trigger works on an anime it is automatically sanctified and given praise even before we get to fully experience it. Trigger worked on it, but so did A-1. Not explicitly placing the blame on anyone but the fact the show flopped is pretty much truth for all who watched.
Kermit 5 That ending is ENTIRELY Trigger, there is no denying this, it's as by the numbers as it gets. Not to mention how there were Trigger staff that were the creative directors of the whole show to begin with.
I feel that the message was that the adults on their world lived just because of surviving, and they live because of love and passion, things that zero two teach to hiro and then to everyone else.
Yup, this was very poorly planned to the point that I think something happened in production behind the scenes that we don't know about. I really love the first half of this show, specifically the characters and the relationships of the main group, I like rewatching this show, but only the first 15 episodes 👍
I loved it all the way through, purely on my love from the characters themselves (specifically 016 and 002), the ending really didn’t bother me at all. Although the whole space battle thing was not at all what I wanted, I’m alright with it. 10/10 definitely will watch again
I have the same opinion :D even though the random space war and the arrival of a new antagonist, those aliens, and their sudden turn of mind to work together with their enemies was a BIT too rushed and too much. But in my opinion all the stuff till episode 15 and even after that Zero Two and Darlings romance makes up for the rushed ending, in my opinion
They could have based season 2 on the history and war in space maybe if this was the ending they rlly wanted but yh same opinion ending was ..... but hey rest of it was okay like the characters were okay except for the antagonist and some side characters but uk 002 and 016 i loved that
The point they touched and I am the most disappointed about it getting dropped it was the kids' radiation. They showed strong sings of it and I was really interested on how they'd develop it since it's rarely used in a realistic way in media. But then nothing happened.
i mean i really enjoyed this show but the ending was so baddd, i wish hiro and two zero could have gone back and seen how happy squad 13 were and how hiro changed and that would have made me so happy but nooo they had to kill off their characters by having them die old which isn’t bad but seeing hiro and two zero as kids reincarnated low key got me mad idk why
I was so invested in this show, and then like the last 5-9ish episodes of it I felt my soul being crushed in a capacity I had not felt since I watched bleach self destruct itself to ruin. I LOOOOVED this show, and then I just liked it, and now I just wish I didn’t get so invested in it.
I think the thing that killed Darling In The FRANXX was the VIRM stuff. At the very least, they were way too powerful and introduced with no real foreshadowing: their utterly overwhelming power doesn't really gel with how everything had been set up to that point. Even the happy ending would have worked better had the writers used APE differently. But my guess is they were never able to figure out a better 3rd act during production so they just took a "f**k it" approach.
I don’t understand why Virm is more powerful than klaxosaurs/klaxosapiens. Shouldn’t the two sides just be strong as the other when the giant spear and Apus isn’t involved just so it wouldn’t be over bloated and stupid?
Honestly, I think Darling in the FranXX was never consistently good to begin with. Sure, it had a lot of promise, but the first 6 episodes were mostly pretty weak, then it started to get interesting from episode 7 onwards and peaked at episode 13... Then it started to go downhill again and never recovered. From episode 14 onwards, especially after the time skip, Darling in the FranXX became a rushed mess and even a lot of those interesting plot points introduced in episodes 7-13 ended up going nowhere or not mattering in the slightest by the time this show reached got to its final stretch, it was a trainwreck in every sense of the word.
I think it’s becuase the interesting stuff had the characters Hayashi mainly written for while the other and less interesting parts is the stuff that mainly the director of the series written.
Yeah, that's probably it, makes me wonder how a Hayashi-led Darling in the FranXX would be like. I was really interested in that subplot about the old lady Zorome met in the city and how the Parasites had a limited lifespan due to their modified physiology, but all of that stuff was completely brushed off after they were established.
Canal do Ryu It’s probably the entirety of the manga series. The manga artist of it is most likely in in charge mainly with the writing of it, which will be a smart idea because the DITF creator/director has other new projects to focus on and the manga artist actually has praised and successsul works that are similar to DITF under his belt, and he was biased to the material Hayashi made and decided that Hayashi’s shit was better story material overall so he uses it and the most-likely Hayashi-made character that the fat fuck director fucked over, Nine Alpha, and given him better treatment and a better appearance.
Canal do Ryu Seriously, it’s currently at episode 6 and Nine Alpha is showcased way before the third klaxosaur fight and he actually gets in the way of Hiro and 02 while not being a push over.
Gurren Lagann made more sense considering the Spiral King was tying to prevent humans using spiral energy. Darlin in the Franxx just threw in another hive mind like the antispirals and went to space.
lol, don't really buy fan art (unless i like the actually art so still valuable), and I pretty much avoided this show. I was thinking more of the artists selling at shows will now have to trow out all of their unsold stock
I honestly liked the show mainly because it was airing during the time I started my first real relationship with someone and it was fun to see each episode in Crunchyroll every saturday. The series is flawed, yes, but the message is beautiful in the sense than humans are amazingly capable and wholehearted even with their individualities and flaws, with all those things mixed together, it shows that us as a species are extremely capable and we need each other to move forward. It's a pretty okay message at first but the whole canvas makes it pretty beautiful. Either way, the show is deeply flawed and it has a spot in my heart just for what it represented at the exact time of my life. It's still fun and I would recommend, but everything has flaws, saying that this anime is a 10/10 masterpiece is as wrong as saying that it is the worst anime of the year/world/universe
if you want something that takes all of darling in the franxx's concepts and actually, you know, follows through with all its promises and makes everything better, iron widow by xiran jay zhao is the book for you
I don’t even get it, since the robots are already feminine looking in appearance, why not just animate it kind of like FromSoft did for Elden Ring with Ranni and the doll she lives in? You have the doll she’s controlling, and alongside the face is an ethereal and shimmering visage of Ranni’s soul directly beside it. They could’ve had Zero Two take over the mech in spirit, giving it a shimmering aura in her colors, with a translucent and billowing cloud of energy trailing behind its head to represent her long pink hair or something. It could’ve even symbolized her love for Hiro, showing that even separated by light years, she’s never far away from him. And when the mech dies, she dies too, and her spirit just stays with him. Not sure how they’d explain that, but it’s a heck of a lot better than what we got 🫤
There is so much I could say here in counter to the points you have raised, but I'm not going to type a multi-paragraph essay that probably no one would read, and I didn't take notes. Yes the anime has problems, but I think it takes a certain kind of person to enjoy it and forgive its flaws. This is one of the best anime I have ever seen. Art is very subjective.
I liked it when zeros personality before she got along with everyone and I enjoyed seeing ichigo get jealous and caring for Hiro. I finished the series today and loved it. However I was reading reddit and youtube reviews of it and I feel like Im falling into group think because seeing the points brought in the videos and reviews, I realized the flaws in the show afterwards when I started reading peoples' review. Do I like the show? Yes however the ending made me feel empty and seeing his friends grow up makes me feel sad
Writers: Alright, we have four episodes left, how do we fill them? That one writer who’s been sitting in the corner drinking while everyone else has been storyboarding: Aliens Writers: That’s perfect, great idea
The more I think about it, the only reason why I loved the last couple episodes was because I got to see progress in humanity. When I look back I actually got bored at the scenes in space.
EXCEPT TRIGGER DOESN'T MAKE PACING MISTAKES LIKE THIS!!!! FOR PRIME FUCKING EXAMPLE JUST LOOK AT GURREN LAGANN!!! THEY KNOW HOW TO PACE A GODDAMN SHOW! @@burrito2526 Yes/no. It's not so much overpopulation, as it is trying to get the target audience (15-24 year old men) to have actual relationships with real women (or men, whatever). Sambou Jaiteh I feel like initially it was pitched as 2 seasons of about 15-18 episodes. However some management stuff likely affected it right when it started or soon before. It just sucks since the show could have been way better with 19-24 as a full season of like 12 episodes

@@ghoulslayer4066 good question
So what woukd turning a light on and stopping faffing about with wires in the dark equate to in that analogy?
@@symbiote1982pk Reading the ending of the manga i guess
The reason this ending worked for Gurran was because Gurran was an insane anime.
It was so weird and bizarre that by the end, the fact that a galaxy sized (and eventually universe sized) mech piloted by practically an entire government was fighting the collective conscience of an entire alien race in a similarly sized mech was completely normal.
Darling in the Franxx provided insightful commentary on Studio Trigger(and its past as Gainax).
It wasn't the same mood, so them recreating the ending to Gurran
(on a smaller scale but still pretty big( True Aegis is about the size of Super Galaxy Gurran Lagann))
Was completely out of place and complety ruined the show's identity.
If this show was the same tone as other Studio Trigger shows then they could have gotten away with it, but in the end the ending felt like a completely different show
Wow that’s almost exactly like my problem with Kids next door’s ending 😯
Hell, Gunbuster managed to blend fanservice, combining Mecha, and drama, with all three culminating in the protagonist ripping her shirt off to pull the upper quantum reactor out of Gunbuster's chest and finish the job.
Even the bad guys are literally completely without known motivation.
You know this show is a mess when An overlook anime most modern fans don't know has a better handle of different elements and a better ending.
Actually True Aegis is about the same size as super galaxy Gurren Lagann

I took a break from DARLING in the FRANXX after ep 19, but then came back to finish it to watch this vid. If you had never mentioned it, I would have completely forgot about Zero Two's quirky personalty and the sexual innuendos at the start of this show. Maybe that was the case. Each person getting more the reigns over one episode and switching roles.

Darling in the Franxx is trying to kickstart Japan's baby making again
Lmao the suicide rates are higher than the birth rates i believe.
Maybe you should fix the problem, and not the symptom.
It's quite obvious to me that the Japanese are way too bound to their work. If they want their society to have more babies, you need to give them a chance to actually raise them.
Vincula Omega True enough, sure the poverty rate is low but alot of japanese people tend to overwork themselves to death or suicide.
Hey.. that's
If the APE was serious about getting no kid to have any romantic-emotion, then why did they allow such a huge interaction between the opposite sex, so much that they were allowed to stay under the same roof, even during night?
yeah to be honest the pregnancy sub plot feels kinda unnecessary to the plot since it doesn't really progress that far in it's story,
and speaking of plot elements that has little to no effect on the plot I got one,
I know it's very controversial but I'm gonna say it
the franxx themselves: they don't do really anything with the besides episode 1,3,4,6,9,11,12,15,19-24(15 episodes, really ep 2 can be pretty much be removed and nothing in the story would have changed )
and even then most of the time they just fight normally with their combat weapons(We don't even get to see more of Stampede Mode outside of episode 1,11 and 15)
ShadowJr Fincher I don't think the pregnancy was unnecessary: it was inline with the themes of sexuality and individualality and fit in nicely to the subplot of breaking away from papa; but it wasn't followed through very well and the ending in general was so poorly executed.
angel calderon i agree with you there it was a nice subplot away from the main papa plot but it was poorly executed, it would have been better if it had a sightly faster pace
The kokoro and mitsuru pairing was just dumb in general felt very forced kokoro picking the asshole mitsuru over that fat guy who atcually likes her treats her well and took the time to get to know just didnt make sense
Most stuff was pointless
I AGREE 1000000% WITH THIS!!! HEY GOD, ITS ME AGAIN 😭
Idk if u have but u should read the manga adaptation. It have most of the same plot points before episode 19 except shuffles them around and basically make them better. For example kokoro isn’t a wh*re and ichigo isn’t a b*tch. Also aliens isn’t there so it’s quite a bit better
@@lqtor5950 How is Kokoro a whore? You’re weird.
just, read mastermind in the franxx. it has the same characters, the same like, setting, and it explores the same themes, but in a much better way
The whole "we're going to space to fight aliens" bit ruined the suspension of disbelief.
Bryan Crowe they would redo the ending
The greatest part of DitF was that it finally forced me to watch Evangelion. For that one reason, I am glad I watched it.
did the same to me .... but kind made me appreatate DitF even more . Found out that i am not a fan of EVA
I've never been big on Eva, still not, still not going to watch, it's really not my thing, but even I, from just what I'd absorbed from popular culture and the bits I gleaned over time, knew Franxxxxxxx was an Eva clone, and an inferior, offensive Eva clone, for that matter.
why do u say its a eva clone if u didnt watch eva in the first place, LEMAO
Fusilier people who judge a show they've never watched smh
I don't like Evangelion but it's a masterpiece compared to DitF. Then again, many would consider it to be a masterpiece anyway.

I seriously loved this series, the first 2/3 were like an 8-9/10 for me but the last third was like a 3-4/10, it’s such a shame.
Your show isn't good because it has galactic sized mechs. It's good because the way those mechs are incorporated makes sense with the overall narrative of the show.
When you get finished with episode 15 and you realize there is still 9 episodes left 😰
Actually at a convention some staff of Studio Trigger said that they have some conflicts between the 3 Studio and that Cloverworks has done all the episode after 17, and we all know that Cloverworks are very young and very unexperimented, just the the mess they have done with Persona 5. And the most sad parts is that "The Promised Neverland" anime is gonna be made by Cloverworks :-(
but at the same time they can't fuck up an existing story, and the manga already got that front.
SLIghtier Tell that to Persona 5. Took all the flair out of it in my opinion
Arkahaine you know CloverWorks is a sister company of A1 and trigger only did episodes 4,6,8,10,12, & 14
BennyPaddyCake No, they make the animation until 14 but they wer until the end in the creation process
"You can't just blow a regular as human up to planetary scale, without look it either super goofy or super creapy"
*laughts in Diebuster*
All I can say is: Fair enough, but I still had fun, even if the show turned to shit.
Luca Keizer same
+1
honestly if the yellow haired w/ glasses dude (forget his name) died trying to save ichigo and ichigo cofessed to him right as that happened, that would be an amazing moment that could have been a semi ending. or if 02 and hero somehow ended up in purgatory and had to make adventures to get to heaven or whatever, even this would make the story a bit better knowing that no one is perfect.
Trigger was never your savior. You were deluding yourself lol
It was the fault of A1 Pictures actually and its not that suprising to be honest.
A-1 Pictures is also to blame for this. Don't forget that.
Kermit 5
That ending is ENTIRELY Trigger, there is no denying this, it's as by the numbers as it gets. Not to mention how there were Trigger staff that were the creative directors of the whole show to begin with.
Promare will do it (i hope)
I feel that the message was that the adults on their world lived just because of surviving, and they live because of love and passion, things that zero two teach to hiro and then to everyone else.
They kind of tried to pull off a Childhood’s End type ending with the hive mind thing but they made it so... so... bad
They could have based season 2 on the history and war in space maybe if this was the ending they rlly wanted but yh same opinion ending was ..... but hey rest of it was okay like the characters were okay except for the antagonist and some side characters but uk 002 and 016 i loved that
I think they could have used 1 more half season
DITF: Hey eva can i copy your artwork.
EVA: sure but dont make it obvious.
Really? I didn't get to read the manga because I assumed it was just an adaptation of the anime, I'm gonna check it out later then.
Canal do Ryu Seriously, it’s currently at episode 6 and Nine Alpha is showcased way before the third klaxosaur fight and he actually gets in the way of Hiro and 02 while not being a push over.
I kinda hope they make a movie rewriting the last 5 episodes, like End Of Evangelion.
God I’m so glad i dropped this series. I would be so mad if i kept watching (i also don’t like Mitsuru and Kokoro together so...)
Gurren Lagann made more sense considering the Spiral King was tying to prevent humans using spiral energy. Darlin in the Franxx just threw in another hive mind like the antispirals and went to space.
Darling in the Franxx is just bad Gears of War.
*sees comment* uhhhhhhhh what?
Lets be honest gears has sucked after the 3rd game.
Isn't Gears of War already kinda bad? (At least that's what I understand from Zero Punctuation)
Wouldn’t Gears of War be better if it was controlled by doggy style?
Since When is gears of war good anyway
Why the dark souls 3 main theme? Kek
Guess all those fan art prints can go in the trash now
B-but the doujins... D:
Nothing is gained in throwing away good fanart. I'll take em if you don't want em, that shit's expencive
lol, don't really buy fan art (unless i like the actually art so still valuable), and I pretty much avoided this show. I was thinking more of the artists selling at shows will now have to trow out all of their unsold stock
doujins are too precious
But what will all those anime con artists do with all that unsold stock?
"You can't just blow a regular-ass human up to planetary scale without it looking super creepy or super funny"
One Piece would like to talk to you
I honestly liked the show mainly because it was airing during the time I started my first real relationship with someone and it was fun to see each episode in Crunchyroll every saturday.
*I DEMAND A MOVIE REDO* _Just like Eva_
There is so much I could say here in counter to the points you have raised, but I'm not going to type a multi-paragraph essay that probably no one would read, and I didn't take notes.
Yes the anime has problems, but I think it takes a certain kind of person to enjoy it and forgive its flaws. This is one of the best anime I have ever seen. Art is very subjective.
I loved the anime until episode 15. Then I was just like "wtf is happening"
the dark souls 3 main theme in the background gives me chills bro. Such a masterpiece
De spa cito
Highly intellectual criticism, I would very much have to agree with you on that point.
God-tier intellect

But the all important question is: Will Darling surpass SAO as your channel's whipping boy?
pshh never

I liked it when zeros personality before she got along with everyone and I enjoyed seeing ichigo get jealous and caring for Hiro. I finished the series today and loved it. However I was reading reddit and youtube reviews of it and I feel like Im falling into group think because seeing the points brought in the videos and reviews, I realized the flaws in the show afterwards when I started reading peoples' review. Do I like the show? Yes however the ending made me feel empty and seeing his friends grow up makes me feel sad
I can't stop hearing the dark souls 3 menu theme and I can't watch the video normally
same
ruins the tone tbh, i cant take it seriously with the overdramatic goth choir
Imagine how good Darling in the Franxx would have been if he was directing the anime. I can't believe such a promising anime is ruined like this.
Writers: Alright, we have four episodes left, how do we fill them?
That one writer who’s been sitting in the corner drinking while everyone else has been storyboarding: Aliens
Writers: That’s perfect, great idea
Plus pregnancy
Aliens and pregnancy babies just fucking babies ok
The more I think about it, the only reason why I loved the last couple episodes was because I got to see progress in humanity. When I look back I actually got bored at the scenes in space.

Darling in the FranXX is just a battle of control between A1 and Trigger
EXCEPT TRIGGER DOESN'T MAKE PACING MISTAKES LIKE THIS!!!! FOR PRIME FUCKING EXAMPLE JUST LOOK AT GURREN LAGANN!!! THEY KNOW HOW TO PACE A GODDAMN SHOW!
Edit: I realize Gainax produced TTGL but people from there joined forces with other members to create Trigger Studios. So, There had to be some other forces at work here that made them rush out a hackneyed space opera at the "end" of their teen drama story.
