As a pipe welder where your welds have to be immaculate every single time, with no leaks. And where your welds are commonly checked with x-ray. Tig is the most accurate way to weld, you have to control 2 hands at the same time. with 2 millimeter gap from the surface, your hands have to go in a perfect motion for perfection. A stick weld you can almost just look at the thing and it's finished. hardly any work. There is a reason TIG is paid better. it requires more skill.

Well my idea of what i thought deaf was is a hell of a lot better than loud ass ringing that never goes away. One particular morning i woke up and it was so loud i thought the fire alarm was going off. That was until I covered my ears and it made it worse. It was so disorienting that i couldnt drive and had to have my girlfriend pick me up to take me to the hospital. I threw up 3 times on the way there and 3 more times while there only for them to say theres nothimg they can do. I was so desperate i asked if they could just snip something and i would gladly be deaf. Thats when I learned that they dont even know where the ringing is coming from. If its originating in the ear or if its your brain misinterpreting what the ear is telling it from damage over the years. Which makes since because people with head injuries experience the same thing and it wasmt their ear that was injured. Idk good luck to you though.

About to graduate welding school myself and everyone’s talking about how much money we’re gonna make when we’re in the field. All jobs around here are starting under $20 an hour. Trades are a not a masters degree I feel robbed

    • @Iwontreadyourreply

Shop work pays $20-$30 on average. If you want to make $40-$60 or more you need to join an iron workers or pipefitters union. If you can handle it. And if you want to make 100k-300k you need a rig. But that ain’t happening out of school. Time to pay your dues. Or go make TikTok’s, I dunno

That's not even close to the average. Average welders get paid between 35-75k.
If you can TIG with rare alloys you can bump that up to 90k easily, and OT will probably get you 120k-130k. You're out of your mind to think that's the average, though.

@@12crozinidk I see so many randoms on the internet crap out random 100-200k$ numbers in the us. Do they actually work? Are they bots? Never worked in the US but isn’t 40-70k usd normal? 80k would be pretty high rather? In Holland, Europe, 60k€ a year after tax is a nice income.. 100k usd$ would be a very very nice income…

    • @BasedZoomer

@@okerhrh4139When they say 100k it's always gross, before tax. Take 40% off of that and it's probably near their take home. So 100k/year would be an actual income of 60k/year, not including any property tax and other periphery taxes they may pay.

Why are people not thinking that this man might own a whole company and brand that he uses to not only weld but sell other things like education and consulting. So $300k seems pretty low. Lol I’ve made $520k working from home. Long days but it’s doable. Shoot higher brother.

Some pipe welders make a buck 50 or a bucks 60 a year and then they rent their truck their welder and their pipe welding kit for another 150 so that the company doesn’t have to buy any materials so they’re half contractor renting equipment and half employee or 1099 renting their service. 300,000 a yearis like working 80 to 90 hours a week some people like to work that 12 months year
