Hi Jim, thanks for getting in touch. I've only made the videos that you can find on my RUclips channel. The version of West End Girls is quite complex and took me ages to work out. I'd recommend trying my version of Hard Times as a good one to start off with. I have done a few one to one video sessions on Facebook Messenger. But have a go on your own first and let me know if you need more help. All the best, David 🎶👍
Great Sounds! You killed it David. Question, Would you buy the Roland JD-XI now if you were to do it again? I'm thinking of getting this synth. I think in combination with the ASR hydra explorer. I like what looks like easy programming and sequencing.
Many thanks for your great comments. My JD-Xi is now four years old and I still think it represents good value. It is packed with such a lot of features like the sequencer and vocoder which are very easy to use. I love the way that I can quickly make a drum track to practice with my guitar. The bass sounds are very good as confirmed by a friend who plays bass guitar. The downside is that it does feel very fragile and wouldn't stand much abuse. The small keys aren't very playable and the velocity control has to be turned off for fear of breaking them. Menu diving can be a bit tricky to begin with too. But on the whole, I would still recommend it to a beginner on a budget. It's a lot of fun! All the best, David 🎹🎶👍
