  • Come join the road trip to Pokhara, Nepal starting from Mau, Uttar Pradesh via Gorakhpur and Sonauli Border. In this video, I'll explain how you can travel from India to Nepal by crossing the land border by your own car and what are the formalities you have to complete.
Our journey started from Mau, Uttar Pradesh. After reaching to Sonauli border you will need to show the following original documents for your permit required for a private vehicle to legally enter Nepal popularly known as Bhansar
1)Your vehicles Registration Certificate (RC) Paper.
    2)Driving License.
3)Indian ID card like Aadhar Card/Voter ID card.
Also keep your COVID vaccination certificates incase they ask for it.
The charges for Bhansar and all other documents which you will have to pay at the border are as follows:
    1)INR 350/day/car for Bhansar.
2)INR 1050 for Road Tax Office (RTO) Papers.
Optional : If you need Internet on your phone for navigation and all other stuffs you can buy a Nepali SIM card for INR 350 in which you will get 4G data of 1GB/Day and other incoming and outgoing facilities which I think is not of much use.
The money exchange rate keeps changing but we got a exchange rate of 1.6 that is we exchanged our INR 20000 with NPR 32000. Although we have all bookings of hotels and other things in prior, but we took the cash for the expenses in local shopping and sightseeing.
Enjoy the mountains and lake with full of adventure sports options in Pokhara.
