@@lisa4471 Do you have a Michaels where you live? I find most of their products to be of at least moderate quality, and they have plenty of coupons and discounts on their items. They have a huge seasonal inventory and it’s fun to just go in and search through what they have.

I know this is old but maybe someone will find this useful - when using watercolor pencils, it's a lot easier to get the pencil itself wet by dipping it in some water on a tray and then drawing with it. Think of it as a watercolor palette in stick form. The point is to dissolve the pigment in the pencil rather than blending it after drawing. 😁

I don’t really think that’s the point, the point is to color the pencils on the paper then use one of those watercolor brushes to blend them out. If you do it like you said, the whole point of the pencils is ruined. Fyi my art teacher told me how to use them.

with gelly roll, I tend to be very light when applying it and it works great for me. I tried to push down hard on it and it didn't work at all. I think really light pressure works the best.

GIRLL check the tip of the gelly roll. Because normally some pens has a protective tip that prevents ink from leaking.

That thing you got from dollar tree here in the philippines its called a correction pen. Basically its like a correction tape in liquid form used to cover up mistakes you have when you write. Also that stuff can chip off.😅😂

those hobby lobby brand colored pencils, are not just colored pencils. you grabbed the watercolor colored pencils. which means once you draw what you're going to draw, you can pick up a paint brush and use a wet brush to make it into a watercolor instead of a drawing :) they draw differently on paper too compared to normal colored pencils. and is also why they were more expensive than prismacolors lol

You can actually use the watercolor pencils two ways... not just one. You can dip the tip of the pencil in water first, THEN color and it will be more vibrant and blend easier. And then obviously coloring, then adding water. The harder you press the watercolor pencils, the worse they blend. Also, blending with watercolor pens that actually hold water in the barrel is by far better than using a standard brush. I'm not trying to be anal or anything, I just hate to see when watercolor pencils get so much hate when they aren't even used correctly.. :(
Your technically not supposed to put the pencils in water but it does look good. It damages the pencil or something according to my art teacher
@@kittycreative4436 the three sets of watercolor pencils I have all have a shiny, almost plastic coating around them. The instructions say only to dip the very tip of the pencil, not including the wood. Maybe you have different pencils that are not so tolerant to water? I'm not trying to sound mean at all, I'm just genuinely curious. I've never had an issue with the water ruining my pencils, but of course I only ever dipped the very tip of the pencil, and they all have that coating on them.
U can also colour really hard on scrap paper, activate it and use it like a palette ( credit to maccocino(sorry about spelling))

Oh, we thought it was a joke when we dipped the pencils in water in art class. The teacher got mad at us for it. 😅
The white pens really aren't a fair comparison though. One is a gel pen and the other is a white out pen. I actually bought those white out pens and couldn't get them to work worth a crap.

I don’t know if this will help you, but, with the gellyroll pens, since they do have a ball point if you draw lightly the ball will move easier and the ink will flow better! Also some gellyrolls just aren’t as good as others....... just thought I would let u know.😁👌

7:38 the 'pen' that she is using is what we Indians use as 'white outs' or 'whitener' or 'correction pens' (whatever u wanna call them). I used to use them in my art projects & I thought I was the weird one! 😂 😂
