What kind of paper is your notebook? It seems absorbent. The kind of paper you use will affect the color of the ink significantly. I have similar taste in ink colors that you do. What can I say? We have fabulous taste!.
Awwww yes we do! It’s a Rhodia notepad. It was just laying around lol so I thought it would be good to just swatch my inks in it for my videos. I love it though. It’s really awesome with swatching inks. Sailor inks are my favorite. I have a lot of inks but they are by far my favorite. I love the soft colors. I wish I could buy all the sailor ink studio inks lol.
You're actually doing a great job with your Japanese inks! Japanese pronunciation is much simpler than English because the vowel sounds do not change, regardless of the placement within the word. All the vowels have short sounds, except the o, for some reason,🤷🏻♀ It's similar to Spanish and Hawaiian.
Jason Momoa = "Mo-mo-ah" not "mah-moh-ah" and Keanu Reeves = "Keh-ah-noo" not "Key-ah-noo". Honolulu = "Ho-no-loo-loo" not "Han-nah-loo-loo"
ukulele = "oo-koo-leh-leh" not "yuke-ka-lay-lee" 🙄
Japanese sounds:
a = "ah",
i = "ee"
u = "oo"
e = "eh"
o = "oh".
r sound is like a combo r + l (the tip of your tongue brushes the front roof of your mouth really slightly, not placed behind your front teeeth). Takes practice.
tsu, ryo, ryu, kyo, kyu etc. are pronounced with one sound. Most English speakers pronounce "Tokyo" like, "toh-kee-yo", but it's actually "toh+kyo".
The kk is hard to explain. It's kind of like a very short stop between the two "k"s. "Gakkoo" means "school" in Japanese = "gahk-koh" (elongate the "oh" sound when the word ends with two "o"s. Sometimes the long "oh" sound is Romanized by "ou", but I learned it (written) as "oo".
The last letter in the Japanese alphabet is the "n" sound
"n" = has a short, gentle "un" sound...like the "n" sound in "tune". For Example, the Hobonichi "Hon" (it's "ho'un", not "hahn").

Ohhhhhhhhhh thanks!!!! lol. I never knew Tokyo was pronounced like that! Ha. When I pronounced it correctly, I’m like ohhhhhhhh 😂 so that’s how you pronounce it. I definitely want to pick learning the language back up. I was doing so well and then life happened. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.
