I love how Marc is a trying to keep a good attitude about the “downsizing” by talking about inverter upgrades and meanwhile they can’t even cook dinner! 🤣 Love you guys, be safe.
Slide in truck camper to a travel trailer on to A GD reflection fifth wheel I can honestly say we have no desire to ever go backwards I’m to old and now to spoiled 😂
This had to be the most hilarious KYD vid I can remember. The cold weather has a way of making everyone reevaluate their decision. 😂 But you guys are gamers and that’s what we love about you guys
Wait till the wake up in the morning and the back pain reminds them that they are getting older :D, they will see the light....hopefully, such memory will definitely leave a stain.
Buy a camper, they say. Take your family camping in the desert, they say. It won't be windy, they say! It will be fun, they say!! HA! Trish is a Trooper!!
Brrrrr.... Great video, despite the cold. I got my National Parks Pass three years ago, when I turned 62. Best $10 I ever spent. Free for life, with no annual fees. Rock On
This was the funniest KYD video I have seen. It was awesome. Glad Charlie and Piper had so much fun . Thanks for sharing the adventure. Totally enjoyed it.
I really like following you guys. This episode had me laughing and really glad I wasn't out there with you. I'm in Abilene, TX and don't like the cold much. If I ever thought of downsizing from my Grand Design Imagine 2970RL to a Teardrop you just cured me of that idea. I'm sure it's great but at 67 I'm into more creature comforts now. Just saying. I’ve learned a lot from y’all even though I’ve camped off and in sine I was a kid. You definitely brighten up my day every time I watch you.
I haven't laughed so hard watching a video as Marc folding the cover of the potty!! Hope you finally found a warm place to use the Dutch oven. Till next Sunday, safe travels. 😊😂🤣💕
When we first started out, we looked forward to seeing all the beautiful sights in our country, but the most unexpected pleasure has been the great people we've met. Love the full time RV community! Safe travels!! Stay warm!!!! 😁
OK Marc, you convinced me. We're selling the fifth wheel and staying in the neighbors Reflection. Not! 😉 You've taken Moochdocking to a whole different level. 🤣
“Making Memories”. When I get my husband into fun like this I tell him “it’s really just about the stories you get to tell later” 😂😂 SOMETIMES he smiles and forgives me. 😊
We have been in a couple of those types of situations where you are freezing but still wanting to have a good time. We were in a tent at one time, it was 80 degrees in the day and then dropped to 30 degrees that night. Great video guys....hope you stay warm.
I just learned of the 7 Magic Mountains from this video when I watched it a couple weeks ago. It looked interesting so we decided to stop by and check it out for our spring break trip. We also did the Red Rock Canyon drive on the same day. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome!! Absolutely love this episode. This season gets better and better ever week. Great ideas for meal prep when you have a smaller setup. Can't wait to see the Dutch Oven cooking!!
I became and KYD Insider today. Woot woot. 🤗🤗. Happy to support you guys, I’ve learned so much from you! We went RVing this weekend and have hopes of being full time soon. Thanks for all your hard work on the channel.
Cool video yall. Trish made me cold just watching this. Hopefully, the electric blanket keeps yall warm at night. I bought a travel trailer a couple of years ago and really enjoy the comforts, you know... bed, heat, shower. But I still really love"camping". Sleeping in a tent in a sleeping bag, making coffee in a percolator on a Coleman stove, being uncomfortable. It makes you feel closer to the outdoors. Have fun and safe travels.
Charlie in love was so cute! Hope you have all finally warmed up. Lesson from this episode is that the teardrop is fun but not perhaps for heavy wind and cold... and yes Trish deserves that cappuccino maker...
Great episode. This video reminds me of our very first camping trip in our first camper to Holland, MI in early April many years ago. We couldn't wait to try it out but we froze!
I can't say how much I enjoy watching your videos, Marc and Trish. Always funny and entertaining but they also have so much good information! I just got my TDS Logistics EFS card and also checked out the RV Trip Wizard App and will be subscribing. Kathy and I will be going on our first RV trip next Friday (KY to TX and beyond?) and I have purchased a lot of the tools and essentials based on your recommendations. I can only imagine how long the learning curve would have been without your videos. Thanks very much and we look forward to season 8.
Many in my family think they have to leave the US to have an adventurous vacation. There is plenty to enjoy right here in this big old country. I hope I run into you guys out there in this beautiful USA.
Another wonderful episode, it's been minus 30 Celsius here in Ottawa Canada for most of the weekend so your freezing episode is fitting right in. Your whole Family are hardy souls facing the best and worst that Mother Nature has to offer. 😊👍👍👍
I was happy to hear Chad say 3 batteries and his panels were enough, I have a 371MBH and was trying to decide on how many I would end up needing. Stay safe and hope to cross paths some time.
Love your videos! We bought our camper last December because we enjoy camping, but our bodies don't like tent camping anymore. I searched RUclips looking for videos on what we needed, what was a waste of money, organizing, etcetera, and found you guys! So glad I did. Unfortunately, this new camper doesn't leave room for extra money in our budget to be KYD Insiders. 😔 However, I've told others about you and met some who already knew about you. I've also been telling my husband about you and keeping him up to date on your adventures. Now, he's the one who is streaming it on our tv for us all to watch together. We are loving your adventures! We are not full-timers, so we are living through you. I'd love to see more of how you are cooking now since your kitchen has changed...just. little. LOL!
Marc & Tricia - A Wind Turbine and Kite would have come in handy out there! 😂 Really looking forward to the rest of Season 8! Happy Trails and Safe Travels!
Have loved your show from the very beginning! After years of going back and forth we finally purchased our very first travel trailer (have some special accomdedations we had to figure out for our special needs son and needed a tow vehicle that seated 7 or more--we have a 12 passenger van now) and will be taking it on our summer road trip! Excited to hear what your 2020 route/plans are going to be. Loving the tear drop adventures and seeing my old stoping grounds as this Utah girls is now a thin blooded Floridian.
I'm so glad you liked Red Rock. I live here in Vegas and I love those mountains. I've also been on that scenic drive. So amazing. And yes that wind and cold was brutal.
Hahaha, going small so you can hang out in a bigger Rigg with friend. You guys are troopers for WANTING to experience all forms of Camping! I hope it’s not because of the KYD Insiders. Hope you warmed up well, and yes, a good Cappuccino Machine is a must! It will be interesting to find out what type of Motorhome you will choose. We have a Tiffin Allegro Red that we sooo love. It’s our second home, they come with the best Mattress ever! It will be 5 more years before we can go for long trips, until then, I keep watching you guys for all the tips and tricks. Thank you for all your efforts and hard work! 🙏🏻🤗💕
You guys are so funny! The toughest part was not being able to make the dutch oven food! Lol! Your friends seem great and glad they had a nice warm rig for you to hang out in.
Another great video. Hope you get the chance to do the Race Track in DV. It is really cool. Plus I hope you stopped at tea kettle junction. Thanks for sharing the campground outside of Vegas. Always looking for places to motorcycle camp .
You guys have a lot more invested in your travels so that makes a big difference, But 30 - 35 years ago when my wife and I got together I borrowed a tent trailer from a friend and took the family on a month long trip up through California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada and Utah. It was in November. We got a camp site the first night, a KOA near Vegas it was cold. raining and windy all night. I towed that thing around with us the entire trip as we stayed in Hotel/Motels for the remainder of our travels. I feel your pain. Nice Video.
On Thursday our high is going to be -6 F! Quit being so wimpy you too!!!!! Love the show....... Enjoy the ride thanks for sharing...... Hugs from southern Minnesota.
Great video. It reminded me why we converted a cargo trailer instead of getting a teardrop. We wanted something with a kitchenette so we had the option of cooking inside AND a place to stand up inside. I can't wait to see what you get next.
Lots of laughs when I'm watching from NZ on a gorgeous mid summer afternoon. That was very brave of you to stand outside talking and making a video. Trish did look a little chilly at the end. Your new learning will need to include ice cooking 😂 and avoiding hypothermia 🥶. Have a wind-less week!
Hearing you all talk about just picking up and going somewhere, making tons of memories just to go makes me really wanna tell my husband to quit his job and lets go! LOL
Great video, love how you always show the reality- the good AND the not so good (brrrrrr!). ❤️ Also wanted to mention that families with a disabled family member can get a National Park pass for free as well (not just Veterans). Our family has appreciated this very much!
Great episode! Way to stick it out and go with the flow when Plan A doesn’t go according to plan. Love that positive KYD attitude and team interaction with each other. 👍 I am always inspired! Loved meeting fellow KYDers as well. Tell Olga now I “need” an espresso machine. Her coffees looked amazing! ☕️❤️
I found myself shivering while watching this and I’m in Florida and it’s 75 degrees. Lol. This is a funny vlog..I absolutely enjoyed it! Great scenery.. good camera work.
One of my favorite things about RVing is figuring out what works and upgrading stuff. I do the same with motorcycle touring. It keeps things interesting.
Oh I am in Nova Scotia now watching this. It looks colder there then here! Because if people from my little Tartan republic say it is cold? It is cold!
With the wind, it was worse than walking down Sackville St and turning north onto Brunswick St towards the citadel with that winter wind in your face. One night the gusts hit 100km/hour!
@@chaddavis9039the only thing missing was the snow eh? Guess the wind on the 'company yacht' (Dartmouth ferry) was nothing compared to that? Was it cold because of the wind or was it like cold, cold?
Good reason to alway stop at the visitor's center is I was there at Red Rock Canyon 3 years ago (in Las Vegas for business) and I didn't stop in and never knew there were pictographs or I would have loved to see have them i'm 57 from Delaware and have never seen any as I don't believe we have any here on east coast maybe Arcadia but don't really know. Reason to ALWAYS visit the Information center, they always provide excellent information. Thanks
Nice idea on the blanket. I am just in the middle of install 2x 100ah lithium batteries into our camper so the wife can use an induction cooker when the fire danger is high or extreme. They tend to rip you off in the USA when it comes to lithium batteries. I payed $1.200.00 delivered for the 2x 100ah lithium batteries and that included shipping and a 5 year warranty. We can't wait to get this upgrade done so we can head out bush again. You all looked so cold. Brrrrr
Man welcome to my neck of the woods. Great job y'all. This has been part of my camping experience, with and without the friends in the bigger rig!!!! So much fun!! Y'all will need to try Red Rock Canyon , CA along HWY 14, not far from the 395 heading toward Bishop. 14 and 395 junction is 30 to 40 miles north. Just as windy, just as cold! Have I sold you yet? I've spent my life camping this area. I can't wait for retirement and getting farther afield but Red Rock, Lake Isabella, Kern River, Alabama Hills, Mt Whitney are all in my backyard and weekend camping for the family. Love living here!
My definition of “misery”... You guys are waaayyy more courageous than I am! At least you are keeping your awesome attitude. An inspiration for us all. ☺️
Omgosh. I’m so glad you had friends with a big rig to get out of the wind. We are to old and spoiled to do the tear drop for sure. Trish, you are a real trooper. I’ll take our Class A anytime. At least you had steak for dinner. 🙂. Your friends seemed very nice. Loved seeing Charlie and Piper play. We are now in Quartzite working our way to Yuma. Thanks for an awesome video as usual. Travel safe.
What a hilarious video!! The desert can get REALLY cold, as you've discovered, but, being with good friends (with an espresso machine), can take a few degrees off the thermometer. Watching Charlie and Piper was truly entertaining; could watch those two buds the entire time. Hoping the rest of the trip is a bit warmer for y'all. Y'all Be Safe!
LOL you'd have been warmer coming back to Wisconsin. See the Ice Caves , snowmobiling, snowshoeing... LOL cold with a purpose. Seriously, beautiful scenery and wonderful group you have there. Totally enjoyed that!
Glad to see you hanging out with some bluenoser's from Canada I watch from Halifax, Nova Scotia myself been watching for the last 2 season and enjoy your videos.
Troy Henry I’m from elmsdale, NS, been watching for 3 seasons. Maybe Chad and Olga want to buy their 4th BB lithium from us next time they are in NS haha have one for sale 😂😂😂
You guys are fantastic, and adventurous sports! Did Caleb's "night of sleeping in the tent" get left on the editing floor? (LOL!) How did he do, anyways? The wind can just make everything miserable, especially in more rustic camping situations! Thanks as always for sharing your adventures with all of us; while I won't give up my "creature comfortable" RV now, I do appreciate how you are experiencing the whole gamut of Camping/RVing/Traveling with all of us! Take care, stay warm, and look forward to seeing you next week!
Wow, that was a quick reply. Thank You.. I really enjoy your videos, Keep up the great job and stay safe. I live near Pismo Beach here in Ca. Maybe I;ll see you guys driving past here soon....lol
AZ native and fellow RV'er. The rectangular shaped "holes" placed all over some of the rocks is where the Native Americans would place food/bread to bake during the hot daylight hours.
Wow, that was fun to watch! Love Red Rock Canyon, been there many times. Camped many times in the Lone Pine/Alabama Hills area, looking forward to that video. I hope you took the drive up to Whitney Portal cause it is incredible!!! Love your Vids!
You drove right by us... RVing in Boulder City until May. I work in National parks and other federal properties for the day job. Currently working Lake Mead NRA, with trips to Death Valley. We spent last winter in Death Valley too.
Definitely Recommend Stopping & camping at Oceano Dunes when driving down the California Hwy 1. Nothing beats waking up to ocean waves crashing on the beach
I love how Marc is a trying to keep a good attitude about the “downsizing” by talking about inverter upgrades and meanwhile they can’t even cook dinner! 🤣 Love you guys, be safe.
Anytime I have the idea of selling our Momentum and buying a teardrop I'm going to watch this again. :)
Lol
You let me know when you sell that momentum. 😂. We want the 397th.
Definitely not selling me on a teardrop with this! ;)
Slide in truck camper to a travel trailer on to A GD reflection fifth wheel I can honestly say we have no desire to ever go backwards I’m to old and now to spoiled 😂
I’m keeping my class b. 😀
I love how positive Trish stays on the outside . But I think deep inside she wants to go back to her fifth wheel
Lol. That's probably true. It's a short season by design anyway. We did think AZ and CA would be a little warmer!!

I've spent my life camping this area. I can't wait for retirement and getting farther afield but Red Rock, Lake Isabella, Kern River, Alabama Hills, Mt Whitney are all in my backyard and weekend camping for the family. Love living here!
Loving this season....best ever! Much closer to the experience
We just bought our first travel trailer yesterday. Pick it up on Tuesday. Thanks for inspiring us to go for it!
Congrats!
I to vote this as one of your best ones you guys were troopers.
Keep an eye out :)
Y’all meet some very nice people while y’all are traveling around.
That’s one of the best things about camping/RVing...the people you meet.
It's warmer here in Chicago!! omg you guys are truly courageous!!
Hope you guys make to the Mount Shasta area this year. Could be a great stop off to say, the Redwoods.
The Nova Scotians are so nice😉🇨🇦 I think it was warmer here than there! Except for this morning it was -4 Fahrenheit!!
6:11 Marc was going to say, "I told you so"; but because he is a very smart man, he switched it up really fast. Good save sir. ;)
ok, my favorite part....watching the dogs play and run around.
Why were slowly getting addicted to BLM camping!
You drove right by us...
RVing in Boulder City until May.
I work in National parks and other federal properties for the day job.
Currently working Lake Mead NRA, with trips to Death Valley. We spent last winter in Death Valley too.
Yay Charlie 😃 beautiful episode yall are so fun!
Definitely Recommend Stopping & camping at Oceano Dunes when driving down the California Hwy 1. Nothing beats waking up to ocean waves crashing on the beach
