this video has made me realise there's gotta be a point where a scav has about the same lethality as a player to the point that you're basically just playing multiplayer, if there was a mod to remove their slight upwards/downwards throwing capabilities to make them even further like players i could see them being a good replacement if you have no friends to murder

There is actually a old mod before downpour that makes all natural scavenger spawns in the campaign (and arena) have similar stats as shown in this video but slightly weaker. This mod made me and my friend extremely lethal against normal scavs now to the point that you can easily take out more than 10 scavs with a single spear, though only with Survivor and Hunter because I'm not used to the feel of Artificer and Rivulet's weight and movement. the mod is 'Buffed Creatures', hope it gets updated/made into the current version I miss getting owned by only 2 scavs.

the chieftain uses red centipede scales as armor, so it's probably common scav knowledge, plus that scav did throw a few regular spears and did no damage and rainworlds ai is fuckin amazing as for the dll, what the fuck
To be fair, I only put in the footage where the scav won because it’s more entertaining. That being said, on that arena set up the scav in this video can reliably solo the red centi like 1/5 of the time which is still impressive

It's affected by the dominance stat. If a scav is more dominant then it has larger back hairs and eartlers, and scavs that have higher skills usually also have a more aggressive and dominant personality. The devs were probably thinking along the same lines that you were

I didn't knew that corrupted hunter is immortal. I tried to kill him entire cycle with spears, and later used BOMBS to "free the Hunter" in my first playthrough for Gourmand.
He only has 50 HP. For reference, Brother Long Legs have 100, King Vultures have 12, Miros birds have ~9, Miros Vultures have 20, and red lizards have 6. It’s intimidating, but if you hit the core, they become stunned for about 5 seconds or so, and the timer resets every time the core is hit, making it not as bad as you’d think.
@@panzershrek4511 depends on if it kills or not. However, you would need 3 max damage body slams to kill Hunter Long Legs, so I wouldn’t risk it, since you’re more likely going to be doing 3 to 5 damage instead of the full 20.
Fun fact: you can find a strong scavenger by looking at the antlers and eyes, small eyes and large horns mean a strong scav! Big eyes and small antlers is a weak scav
