If that is what this song is about, this dark empress is Zoë Porphyrogenita. She wasnt dark or evil, she was plain stupid and ruined the Byzantine state.

I've liked her singing since the beginning. People do need to embrace the change. It doesn't mean we can't love Liv's singing too. Elina is a fantastic singer. There's room for both.

Since Elina joined Leaves' Eyes, they're more symphonic, with Liv they always were gothic
BULL. what the hell are u talking about. Actually it's quite the opposite. with Liv they were more symphonic and with Elina they are more repetitive and lacklustre. Just listen to Symphony of the Night and King of Kings. After Meredead they entered into more symphonic era.

@@thesmooze001 They were always classified as symphonic metal; however, I think it would be more correct to say that they fall between genres. They use metal, rock, classical, pop, folk, celtic, etc in their songs. So symphonic is more of an umbrella term. But that's why I love their music: they experiment with different sounds and build around a theme.

Not a big fan, but this song has some Ice Queen feeling to it and I like that.
I was thinking the chorus music here (minus the singing) sounds similar to Jillian by Within Temptation, but just different enough to still be its own. Problem is now days, there are so many bands that almost no matter what you do there's a 90% chance something about the song is going to sound similar to another band.
I thought about Tarja too!! A blond and younger Tarja 🤣🤣 anyway Elina is really good!!!
