- There may be many benefits of honey, lemon, grapefruit and mint, but combine them and you definitely get a nice cup of hot tea. I drink lemon and ginger to soothe symptoms of cold and flu. This is also a good source of vitamin C and antioxidants.

How To Make Honey Lemon Preserve
Citrus Honey Tea Preserve
Hello All, I forgot to mention that I store my jars of honey preserve in the fridge for up to a month. It may last longer just be sure to store in the refrigerator. You can eat a spoonful to sooth a sore throat or add to a cup of hot water for tea. 😁
EDIT: For those asking, I scrubbed the fruit with salt. 🙂
Hope you all are well!
Have a good weekend!
Same to you.
Thank you and am new 🙏🕊💜
Hi, what did you wash the fruit with? I need to try these tips as I am sick now
@@loveu0214 I used salt. 😊
@ well that was simple, Thank you!
This came at the perfect time. I recently got sick on March 26 all the symptoms of covid-19. The doc said to self quarantine for two weeks. My throat is so sore that I decided to make hot tea with lemon and honey.
Sorry to read this. I hope you feel better soon. I was sick twice over the holiday season and the honey ginger tea helped me so much. Stay safe and be well!
I speak from personal experience: Plant mint in a terracotta pot or other container. I found out the hard way that after mint develops its strong horizontal root system there is no killing this plant. It will continue to spread out and take over.
msr111 yeah it’s super invasive and will “choke” other plants around it
Oh yeah, most spices are technically weeds. Mint grows in every ditch in North Dakota
@@stephanginther9051 They spread by the flower seeds and by the roots. When I saw the tidy little patch I laughed. We have an army of it marching from the neighbor. If I have smelly trash or something I layer a bunch of mint on top.
I loved the into, seeing the spearmint , your cat, the sky. This whole video is wonderful.
Never thought of drying the mint.
The jars of the final product are so visually satisfying and the sharpness of the knife is nice...
I Love it! I'm definitely ganna do this. Those preserves would make really good gifts too.
Those are some of my favorite fruits and I love Ginger honey mint. All of that promotes excellent health benefits. Thank you
When we were little, my Abuelita would make us the lemon honey when we had a sore throat.
Fantastic idea and very soothing during flu season
This does seem so soothing in a cup of tea
You are so sweet and helpful during this unbelievably scary time. Thank you so much.
I just tried this, Im so excited for the result ❤️❤️❤️
I’m so glad that you shared this recipe. They charge $10 a jar at most Korean markets, and $4-6 if you catch them on sale. This will save me a ton of $.
Not only is it easy to do and probably tastes awesome, this would make a very nice and thoughtful gift!
Pretty cool, I’ve never seen anything like this before. I don’t like honey at all but I’m glad you said sugar. I learn so much from you and I love all of it. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful creativity with us.
Carrie
Your slicing skills are amazing, I can never slice that well.
Your talent seems to know no bounds. Looks delicious.
Great helpful video. I sure could some of that right now. I sure could use something hot and smoothing. I love your down to earth videos. Thank you so much for everything
Thank you! 😊
Wow that whole beginning with snipping the mint and washing the fruit was so asmr 😍😂
When ever anyone in the house was sick. My grandma use to boil lemons and serve was lemon aid to them. She used sugar, but I like it with honey.
Gurl, u got me when u did that lemon honey video... I sure gonna fix me some of these. Thank u so very much😍
Soo healthy & good for everyone!
That Texas Ruby Red looks sooo delish!
I bet it gives the tea delicious flavor!
I never thought making RUclips can change our life and lifestyle this much, I see you have moved to a new place
for longer preservation, can you do water bath to seal it after it has matured in another container?
Thanks Angelica this is wonderful for this time❤❤❤
I love your videos! Your voice is so calming and your content is so relatable :) staying home in Houston 🤠 going to make myself some cinnamon ginger tea
Love the ginger cinnamon combo! Stay safe! 🙏😊
Yummy thank you so much mama!!! love you videos. you are awesome.
I love lemon curd as well as apple butter toast and tea I’m not a weak man. Sometimes I can’t eat ham and eggs for breakfast or have coffee. Don’t get me wrong. I will have have elk steak and goose and eggs with trout. Just not always
If you have allergies or frequent sinus infections use local harvested honey. It works with your system.
Love this. Thank you❤️
This looks so good I'm gonna have to make this once I can get my hands on some fruit (lockdown in a small town is killer). But it's super important to mention that depending on your medications you can't use grapefruit! Lots of meds have warnings on them about not eating grapefruit and it can be deadly depending on the medication! Love how people are starting to cook more rn but it's always a worry people will hurt themselves and not be able to get the medical attention they need.
Yummy! Bet it's great as a cold drink too- refreshing on a hot day! I would have to leave out the grapefruit, it would react with my medicine, I would try tangerine or oranges
Tangerines and oranges work great with this. When I use oranges I like to add whole cloves and cinnamon sticks. 😁👍
@ YUMMY!!!!
Hi A. !!! I liked this recipe. I cant have grapefruit because of one Medication I take. I will use oranges instead. This sounds like something I would really enjoy!!! Yum!!!
We don't have any citrus fruit right now......BUT when we do, we will try this!! Looks delicious!! XO
Yum! A friend taught me how to make a Haitian ginger lime tea. I think preserving limes like this would go great in that. But also, I love grapefruit. Looking forward to trying this. Btw, I recently tried your strawberry horchata and your chicken and rice. Both delicious!
This would be WONDERFUL at Christmas!!
Yes! I love to make jars of these for gifts. 😁
They look so goood! Thanks. 👍👍👍👍❤😀
This as are you is AMAZING.
Is there anything you CAN'T do??🤤🤤This looks like it taste so bomb!
Thank you for the ideas.
Omg! I was waiting for this,I only have orange😪no menta,i hade it died w the snow,I'm in Chicago. It looks delicious. Can't even go out. How long can I keep it in the fridge. Thank you.
Thank you can’t wait to try 😃
Thank you for this!
Hi, I'm new to your channel. I love this recipe, and it does work when you're feeling under the weather. I happen to enjoy the taste as well. I like to add turmeric and cayenne pepper to my cup too..
Hello I love all of your recipes. I really like how you make everything look so easy to prepare. My question with this recipe the honey citrus preserve I wonder how long can it remain on the shelf or does it need to be refrigerated after a long period of time.
I'll make it but less honey added, thanks for sharing 💖
I do something similar to this and I swear it helps be it cold, flu, allergies.
My fave honey is Don Victor.
However I usually get something which costs less .
Also, a raw clove of garlic grated and swallowed with water quickly is also helpful . Burns a bit, but I swear this works.
Cool! Houston Texas here:)
Good job I love it
Would you recommend hot bath canning to store on the shelf?
This is incredible thank you
Ahh where did you find that bamboo thing where u washed the mint?
This is awesome how do you store them in the refrigerator?
Lovely. Thank you so much.
How do you store this? Also, if you store in a shelf, how long will it stay good for?
This looks absolutely gorgeous and delicious. How do you store this?
Beautiful! Where can I get a glass cup like this.
Hi there! Love your channel.💟 when you say you can use sugar could you explain how? Do you just pour in the sugar and it mixes with the citrus juices? Do you add water? I must have missed something I'm sorry
I like it 😋😋👍👍
Do I have to store my lemon honey ginger in the refrigerator.
Thanks so much for this I was getting ready to make a ginger/lemon concoction...
But I'm not sure if I missed it somewhere, so the citrus/honey preserve is added to hot water but what's the ratio? 1 cup hot water...is it just to taste? 💞
You're very creative :) :) 😀😀😀
Thanks!
Great idea you should have done it 2days ago when I needed to figure out what to do with my lemon's 🤣🤣🤣
Hi, what did you wash your fruit in?
How long it lasts this grapefruit and lemons in the jar? A week or more? How do you storage them? Inside the fridge?
Do you have to peel the ginger?
Loving the idea but already feeling the heartburn 😭😬🥵🔥🔥
Thank u will try ..
Do they need to be stored in the fridge?
Hiii. Can i ask how long is the shelf life of this?
i think its better we keep it in cabinat for some days ,by this way we active some healthy bactri in it. when you see that they made some bubels
That spearmint is called what I Spanish will try it soon Thsnks
How do you stop these from going mouldy??
Childhood memories, my abuela had a lemon tree and would make us lemon and ginger tea
My grandma used to make something like this... But with tequila... I'm convinced tequila is better than antibiotics 😃
Me too..a few shots
You're 100% right about that! ❤
@@stef1lee damn your pretty 😍
What did you wash the fruit with?
How long can you store it for? Refrigerate?
Great video! Just wondering how you use them?? Do you take a teaspoon.? I know you made a tea.sorry for the questions 😊
You can eat a spoonful to sooth a sore throat or add to a cup of hot water for tea. 😁
Thank you!!😊❤️
Great thanks, but can't do the grape fruit due to blood meds will contraindicated with each other. Will do the lemon though!!
What's the shelf life on these?
Like amiga
Did you scrub your fruit with sugar? Why have I never thought of that?
I have a auto amine disorder. Haushi Moto thyroid. I was told I can not have citrus. I know you are not a doctor. But what tea would you make for health benefits. For people like me?
Love your video I’m going to try that. Could you please answer a question for me is dehydrated ground ginger as good as fresh ginger? I asked that question because I bought a box of fresh ginger I dehydrated it and then ground it up into powder to use in my turmeric tea. So can I use my fresh ground ginger in your recipe or do I have to use the fresh ginger. Thanks
Your scissors are so cute
Thank you. I could not find my garden shears so I took these from my office. 😬
@ lol we're all doing our best
Was that a sink or bath tub😂🤣sorry, I couldn't help myself 🤭
Haha!
Do we store this in fridge? For how long can it keep?
I store in the fridge for a month, sometimes it will last a little longer. 😊
I used pure maple syrup instead of honey for a vegan friendly choice :)
I do this with garlic and after 6 months or so the honey displaces the water in the garlic and takes away the bite
Unfortunately my parents are from Ireland and we got honey and brandy 🤪. Don't know if it worked, but we did sleep. Oh and yes, from the time I was a small child, not an adult. I am a bad Irish adult because I don't care for alcohol, everyone notices.
😍
Do you live in Texas? ☺️
What about a shot or 2 of whiskey?
Look for the video own by name --doomandoo there is step by step with the skills you want to have more vie so is time to learn

I did this and the leaves I clipped out of my yard were poison oak! I'm suing.
Hey, thanks. You might want to do a disclaimer as you are not sure this works for everyone. People might take this to heart and it may not work everyone, be careful what you put out there for health benefits, after all, this is your opinion. It might work for some, but not others. Sorry.
Really??...rolling my eyes!
Really?...rolling my eyes.....
I think she was saying it is comforting, I didn't hear her make any claims. The script always included the word "may".
