Thanks Lawrence we only use the whisk once a day for 3days after adding the 10% seeded honey that we used a pestle & mortar on originally. On the 4th day we jar it before placing the jarred soft set down the shed in cool temp for a week or 2 to set.
I’m just about to start my 2 year of beekeeping. Thanks for the great video. I learned something every time I watch your videos. I will have a go at softset later in the year. Thanks again. Richard.
Thanks! I can see the slopey days of Autumn creeping in though! 20k by Christmas will be awesome! I am SO thankful for all the support! Hope the smoker is doing well
Great timing I’ve started to do my creamed honey for the first time. Now onto day two few more days to go. Thank you for the great video. Also great tips
Thanks for the last couple of videos.I've been looking at how I could make soft spread honey simple.I like this process with the drill bit.Been watching our videos for along time now. From NE Wisconsin USA Thanks.
Awesome channel. Great to see behind the scenes of bigger beekeeping operations. I'm going onto my 3rd year beekeeping now and your channel is proving to be really helpful. Going to try to make some of this soft set honey over the weekend. Would be easier with that drill bit though 😉
Thanks for this video and the channel. Just put seven floors together using your under-floor entrance design. I've been running two hives on them this last year and will be converting all my hives to them over this season. Thanks for all the tips and advice.
Thanks for the video Lawarce. Just made another batch today in a 20 L pail. Last summer I used a metal paint stirring rod (used for mixing paint) and I noticed small pieces of plastic that floated to the top. I had filed down the edges but it was still chewing away the plastic of the pail. I found a plastic bit by Werner on Amazon that looks like a squirrel cage fan on end. It mixes faster with less effort and less pull on the drill. By running it slow I don't get the foam or bubbles on top. I make flavored soft set honey and it outsells runny honey 3 to 1.
Thanks for your information. I like the way you explained everything. I have been a Beekeeper in South Africa now for going on 3 years. Started with 5 hives and now I have 30 hives. But I want to keep growing to the point that I can manage maybe 100-150 hives. Not many people know about Cream Honey and want to start doing some to seeing what my response is like with my customers. I really need to have a drill bit like yours. Do you know where I could get one in South Africa? Take care
Thanks for the information. I'm going to try my hand at soft set honey this year. Undecided which method to use. I know it won't be the 3k version though 😄.
Absolutely love all your video tips. Thank you for taking the time to share your insights with us. As a new beekeeper you have been ever so helpful. I am slowly working through your back catalogue and enjoying every minute. Keep up the great work 👍
Thanks for showing the different options. I'm in my fourth year keeping and three years into my honey creaming method. Still a recipe in progress. I've never seen that drill bit mixer before.
Great channel to watch picking some tips up as am thinking of getting back into beekeeping after a six years out but still have the hives i also watch three usa beekeepers
After trying the Soft set honeys you sent and all things looking good to get my own honey this year it would be good to try producing my own. As I don't see getting to your level to need the creamer you now use. It would be good to offer to other association members to borrow as well.
With OSR you dont need to seed. With normal honey you will still need to add 10% seed and it will take a lot longer. OSR once soft set works really well as seed
@Black Mountain Honey not sure about that near me. Our biggest farmer has decided to focus on root vegetables annoyingly. Supposedly the equipment to harvest OSR is a nightmare. Not sure how it's any different to grain🤷♂️

Hi Laurence, grettings from Portugal! Thanks for sharing all the knowledge!
Thanks Lawrence we only use the whisk once a day for 3days after adding the 10% seeded honey that we used a pestle & mortar on originally. On the 4th day we jar it before placing the jarred soft set down the shed in cool temp for a week or 2 to set.

As always fantastic video looks a good bit of kit and an easy way of doing it without the high cost of a creamer
Thanks for the information. I'm going to try my hand at soft set honey this year. Undecided which method to use. I know it won't be the 3k version though 😄.
Great no nonsense video again Laurence. Thanks for the information 👍

It's interesting how similar the different methods are, yet different
Yes I would like the drill bit
Have a great day
That's amazing, I almost burnt out a motor on my whisk, I used the dough hook rather than beaters. Just needed to win a prize in the show.
Thank you for you tips and tricks me and me son love watching your videos I started beekeeping last year and you have been a huge help
First year to try method for soft set honey 🐝💛
Great channel to watch picking some tips up as am thinking of getting back into beekeeping after a six years out but still have the hives i also watch three usa beekeepers

I LOVE your videos! I especially love your accent
Interesting idea for making soft set honey in small quantities on the cheap
Looking forward to trying this
Great video. Would like to try that Drill Bit for my honey.
I will definitely give this a try, will it work for other honey or only OSR?
Looks fantastic your machines I would love
So you do not have to seed the honey anymore. How would this work with non OSR honey please. Great vid
With OSR you dont need to seed. With normal honey you will still need to add 10% seed and it will take a lot longer. OSR once soft set works really well as seed
Thats amazing!!! I would so love to do this!!
Thanks again Laurence, another top tip.

Love your channel. Covers so many aspects of beekeeping and honey production. Thanks so much
Pretty cool way to make it, I would love to try and make this sometime soon.
Sound great
We used to have OSR all around us but the past 3 years there hasn’t been any at all. The method you describe looks great on a small scale. 👍
Think the EU funding for it has dried up after brexit
I reckon it will be back with a bang this year. Price has gone up loads
@Black Mountain Honey not sure about that near me. Our biggest farmer has decided to focus on root vegetables annoyingly. Supposedly the equipment to harvest OSR is a nightmare. Not sure how it's any different to grain🤷♂️
Can't wait to try this simple method.
Great video , got to be worth a try
Always interested in new methods
Great vid! I need to try this in the future!
Thank for rhe information
Fantastically simple and cheap. I’d love to try this one day! Cheers
