Hey everyone! Welcome to the continuation of our Scrap Mechanic co-op survival adventure! In this episode kAN and I experiment with using explosives canisters for fighting the big bad farmbots! About Scrap Mechanic:

Here’s the deal: you’re a robot maintenance mechanic en route to your posting on a fully-automated agriculture planet. Thing is, close to touchdown your spacecraft loses control and crashes, but since you’ve got luck on your side (erm…), you survive! You’re stranded though, and at first glance you find that not everything’s quite as it should be. The Farmbots working the fields have gone crazy, and now there’s only one way to stay alive: using your quick thinking, your creativity and your wily knack of turning your surroundings to your advantage.
I feel it might have been quicker to simply grow the bananas? 🤣🤣🤣
Plus, I had an idea watching the build time-lapse - some headlights mounted on the tree (or posts) trained on the build area and farm would make raids and night-time builds easier to follow 👍
Maybe instead of a turret turn the vehicle into a mine-layer. From what I remember small explosives do go off when Farmbots run over them.
Definitely would like to repurpose it somehow :)

If you wanna make an explosive-based redbot killer, I suggest making a flyer that drops it on him from below, but it might still bounce. I also suggest just simply using a mounted turret or, if you wanna save ammo, use an anti-air flak cannon-styled turret.

Try using the bombs as mines. Set it up where you drop them in a line and detonate with the spud gun. You can control the explosions and timing better.
a local legend said that after kAN and Kosmonaut left the tree house, cooking bot gets up and walk through the place.

@@darealkosmo Hey, FYI, the glow bugs have an internal value when they spawn that essentially makes them invincible, when you pick them up or feed them, it then makes it possible for them to die of hunger. They do despawn even when the value is set to invincible mode though, so you don't eventually get a billion glow bugs in the ocean.

Maybe you could try to build 2 turrets, one to shoot the explosive to activate it and another one to throw it away, you can do that using timer and logic to trigger it. Maybe explosive needs to be activated before it hits the bot, I'm just guessing.

I think the explosives might be having a collision error or something similar to that that is making the explosive think that it's not hitting anything when it collides with the redbot. You might be able to test that theory if you shoot it at haybots and totebots and you get the same result, because when the explosives collided with the ground it seemed to blow up almost immediately. Still, kind of like John Emanuel's idea of lining them up behind like mines.
That would just rely on your accuracy. XD

Ah yes, my favourite past-time activity
If you want a chemical truck, you could maybe have all of the connections of the pump on a interactive block so you can change from water to chemical, or you can use the water truck to get chemicals you dont need a certain storage unit for chemicals
There’s an app for that!
I once download from the workshop a 36 bugged spud gun cannon. It's 36 spuds aimed to a row of cardboards and i tested it could clip up to 8 blocks before exploding without clipping trough. I'm not surprised it don't explode at the bots, you should try shooting at the floor.
Plus deaggroing is inneficient put 2 or 4 shots on this thing

Edit: Farmbots normally: I’m pretty powerful but I can get taken down quite easily with a Spudling Gun
Farmbots when you shot fracking bombs at them: DEFLECTOR SHEILD ON
Use logic to prime the canister just b4 release
Make a long row of wheels spinning backwards really fast, a couple of inches away from the ground. These will launch farmboys really high and make them take massive fall damage,
I always wanted them to make a tank, and this is the closest thing I think

Farm for everything you need for top-tier thrusters, and build a mobile flying base with all the basics you need for anything you could need to do. Something like water collection and distribution, chemical pumping, oil pumping, fruit delivery and dispense station. It could be cool to just have a UFO flying around town with everything you could ever need on it. And it’s doable once you have the thrusters because you already have infinite oil
Not doable... The Thrusters need more Gas than can be pumped. More Pumps -> More Weight -> More Thrusters -> More gas consumption. Scrapman tested it. Not Possible
What Scrapman tested was a flying vehicle that doesn't need to land ever. A vehicle that flies between refuelling points and lands to refuel should be doable.

What if you build a regular catapult that has a spudgun in the "bowl" and shoot the explosive canister and THEN fire?
see that’s what I was trying to tell kAn as well but I think he misunderstood me
You guys should build a hidden piston for each side of the vehicle for all your vehicles so when you flip on your side or upside down you can just hit a button and you will extend the piston to flip you over instead of having to get out and use a lift

The glowbugs do despawn but it takes 30 (12 real life ours of being in game and area loaded) in game days without feeding them. ;) and Congrats on 40k

Standard 18 wheeler can't be over 80,000 lbs. That's truck, trailer, fuel, and load. Most weight is 12,000 on steering (front wheels) 34,000 on the drive wheels, then 34,000 on the trailer wheels.

I think it might work better with the larger canisters, otherwise don't change the turret too much and side mount the other 2 guns. In case you want to launch other stuff.

@@lechking941 it’s not so much a glitch as it is a “feature”. Bots and animals appear to not calculate any collision physics, as confirmed by someone who’s seen the game code

if you want to try using explosives again i recommend lobbing them instead of launching them, if your accurate then even if the canister doesn't explode it will land near them, allowing you to shoot the canister with the spudgun and explode it, instead of it going off in the distance.

you could put the gun seat on two steering bearings or even 3 to get a full circle rotation
But then it will rotate too fast to aim. If they want full circle rotation, the old fashioned a/d converter double electric engine is the way to go.
