Have you ever gotten angry?
Yasser: well, one time in 1986 …
It's always the 80s man.
@@Eorzat Yeah they always come back.
lmao! thats why i love yasser
You can be proud of your self control if you've never gotten angry for another 32 years
@@Eorzat Sometimes also the 70s ;)
When the calmest dude on earth suddenly is ready to commit violence, even Kasparov trembles.
Garry knew immediately what he did was unforgivable when he managed to be the only one in existence to see Yasser angry
I can’t imagine Kasparov’s face when Yasser was ready to fight him 😂 the calmest guy ever
Yasser's form of exercise is martial arts.
I would completely freak out too. angry Yasser is a nightmare material
You don't need to be tough, can stay calm when you got the KGB 😎 backing you up. 🤣
Yasser, despite what he may say, was a skinny little wimp when it came to sports or self defense.
"I was so angry it cost me two minutes to calm down"
The full two minutes!
Yasser seems very kind, but also very, very intense at times. I absolutely can imagine him being pushed over the edge and clocking Kasparov. You don't become #1 board for a chess power without being a ridiculously competitive person. Love the guy.
"I havent recovered." So good!
This is the best chess video on the internet. Thank you. Was just thinking about how positive Yasser is.
Loved how honest he was, seems like a great guy
Glad you liked it!
Completely agree!
I was grinning throughout!
It's so nice to see Nastya K. be relaxed and laugh. Normally, in her role as FIDE Press Spokesman, she's very formal. She's been great in this coverage.
She is the best! Top professional and cool person ~
she is constantly relaxed and laugh at all of her commentary or conferences, especially with Grischuk, what are you talking about.
@@Av-uv6xu "Constantly relaxed?"" I haven't seen that but you are welcome to your own opinion, of course.
Wonderful story!
I can't help but picture Karpov and Gulko raising their heads and with a 'what-the-f...' look in their faces only to find Garry apologizing to Yasser just in time to avoid being square-punched in the jaw! LOL!
You gotta love Yasser, his video lessons and stories from the golden era of chess and his commentary.
Chess world doesn’t deserve Yasser, but we are lucky enough I guess.
golden era? the golden era is now!!
He expresses himself beautifully.
Ironically Yasser's worst moment is more about Kasparov behaving badly
Yasser is such a great dude haha.
What a gem, criminally underviewed! Thanks for the amazing story Yasser.
Definitely I can relate, not over the board but in general, the more you hold and are "very calm" the most explosive you get.
@@coxy623 LOL It is
@@coxy623 Just means if he gets pissed, it's definitely going to be something worth getting pissed about.
“Serenity now, insanity later”
Yup. I'm someone that does not keep it in at all. I have no patience, and I express anger at a very low threshold. Ironically, I have very good control when I'm angry and do not lay hands on anyone. It's probably because I don't bottle it up
These stories from Yas are just the best.
what an amazing person Yasser is... such a passionate and polite man..
I love Yesser - such a timeless gentleman!
You guys may not believe me, I wrote the tweet. STL chess club gave credit to daggerdecabrera, which i’m not upset about, just a minor error. Glad the question was answered!!!
Luke, you absolutely did! The production team misread the sender! Apologies, but thank you for the excellent question. Your name is added to the description.
@@STLChessClub All good no hard feelings, keep up the good content!!
Would love to hear Yasser live giving his andecdotes in a Forum.
hard to believe Yasser could lose his temper--truly a class act
Such a gem Yasser is!
I can listen to Yasser telling stories all day every day
Is it even possible for someone to not like Yasser? 🤔
I dont think so^^
chillest guy ever. yasser was pretty chill when hikaru and and eric hansen were like killing each other outside the chess club
Just love the guy.coolest man on the planet
They work great together
When the calm guy gets angry, everyone should be terrified.
This is why we love Yasser!
Yasser is so kindly and honest! We don’t deserve him.
That should have been a forfeit
That's not how the rules work. As far as I know you can be given more time after the pieces are re-set, but accidentally knocking over the pieces is not considered cause in the rules for forfeiting a game.
@@strategicsage7694 I'd argue he knew, or should have known, the possible consequences of hitting the clock so hard. He was responsible. There are accidents that occur even when everyone is behaving reasonably. Then there are accidents that result from negligence or misbehavior. At a minimum they should have adjusted Yasser's clock to make him whole.
I agree that he should've resigned if he was actually sorry. That would've been the only honest thing to do.
@@tolkienfan1972 Sure, I totally agree that Kasparov was wrong. That's not in dispute. It is however a completely different issue to say a resignation should have occurred as a result.
Fair. I didn't mean he broke an existing rule
Baku's Ogre awoke a real ogre good thing a wolf recognizes a wolf and Garry saved his face from a Yasser punch.
Social media team is on top of things!
Yasser had a mean backhand back in the day, K-dawg wanted none of that
I love Yasser's stories
The first time a winner scurried off with his tail between his legs. Yea Yasser!
Cheers to Yasser, but I want to hear some Mike Kummer stories please!
The old clocks. Lol you could still pause them. Just even the buttons, making them level.
What a great story!
Yasser mentions Kasparov at least 10 times in every broadcast I've ever seen with him... I wonder how just now we're getting to this story...
what a lovable guy
What a great story from Yasser haha! (Us usual. :) )
He sounds so young! Love GM Yessir now
What a great story
Causing one of the calmest dudes on earth to get furious is easily one of the most dangerous things one can do in life!
Yasser's love for the game is the one thing that can make him angry😅
I would love to see a replay on this episode! I applaud Yasser for his spunk!
Yasser is a national treasure :)
thats a resign, you cant knock over all the pieces whenever you want
It's actually not. The opponent can be awarded more time when something like this happens, but accidentally knocking over pieces is not a resignation by rule.
@@strategicsage7694 What about "accidentally" knocking over multiple boards at once? Seriously, your devil's advocate is not necessary here. He should've resigned that game on the spot if he was actually sorry. Anything other than that is a complete lack of sincerity.
@@apocalypseap I'm not playing devil's advocate. I'm pointing out that it's not what the rules say. Sincerity/sorrow are a completely different issue and Kasparov definitely was not 'clean' in terms of competitive ethics imo, but you can still be sorry for something and at the same time not think it justifies losing the game. One doesn't follow the other.
Yasser is great, "I still haven't recovered!" Lolz great story.
"I haven't recovered!!" 😂😂😂
Pure class
Agadmator featured this game on his channel...been wondering what the back story to this was.
Yasser é o cara. Muito maneiro.
Both are alive; for peace and memories ...and audience$ please re-create the scenes.
Yasser is an angel.
Amazing story
Yasser is a wonderful person
Gary speaks for himself.
I could sense Yasser getting a bit upset when Hans Niemann refused to answer his questions after his first win. He couldn't understand why he didn't want to talk about the game.
Love Yassar.🥰
The way he says “Jetstreams of profanity” and laughs is 😂😂😂😂😂
Pepperidge farm remembers
This is why I never push the buttons of the nice guys. Nicest guy can be the meanest asshole in a snap of a second.
It ought to be in the rules that if you hit the clock so hard it knocks the pieces over, then you forfeit the game.
Great story.
legend
knocking over all pieces, how is that not an immediate DQ?? :D
Wreck him up yasser wrek him up!
Yasser will go from Mr. Rodgers to Mr. T real quick.
"Flame on!" (Fantastic Four).
Why is Yasser's voice normal at 1.5x speed 💀💀
What Yasser wanted to say or do to Gary after Gary smahed the clock?
I think it should be obvious?
Yasser said he was ready to punch him but Garry inmediatly realize how angry was Yasser and apologize like never before.
He wanted to clock him. Honestly, Kasparov should've resigned that game on the spot. He'd never get away with something like that now.
Now we need to know Gary's side of the story. 😁 Could it be Gary was evicted by his landlord?
Kasparov was already beyond his threshold and who knows why? I am glad Yasser put him in his place. The game should have been a forfeit.
At that tournament Kasparov literally had KGB agents watching him in case he messed up too badly. That is how chess was in those days.
Why it's not a dsq for Garry!??
Typical Kasparov.
It seems all the funny disrespect stories are coming out since Hans Niemann is on the radar. Because all chess players know now there is always someone who had it worst.
Garry Chess, the creator of chess.
I was no fan of Kasparov and never will be. He always make fun of people who plays sidelines and beat him. If the opponent plays the mainline of course he beats them because his strength lies there (with Russian gms all helping him). He played such a bad manners to disturb the opponents so he could win on the board. These days people would complain to arbiter who can verify it with the camera and take some disciplinary action towards them. In my view he is not a chess legend. Just a chess bully!
Luckily we got some good World Champions who are humble (Anand, Magnus) loved by almost all the opponents. :)
Couldn't you call arbiter and winn if opponent fliped over all of your pieces?
i mean, if you knocked over the board on 3 tables, isn't that an auto-loss? or at least give extra time to the other player lol
Remember Kasparov's game with the best woman player of all times Judit Polgar? Now you can start generalizing.
i get this angry every night on lichess
Never heard of Mr. Kasparov throwing such a temper tantrum (assuming the story as recounted is true). I would have thought that high level chess would have very strict enforcement against any such extreme behavior - it sounded wild. GK had to have been picking a fight for some reason. That it also had disturbing effects on players at adjacent boards is crazy. Maybe GK was drugged. Hard to believe that no physical altercations happened right then and there.
Everyone can lost control, even normal person, imagine for kasparov who got immense pressure from soviet union before..garry had that bad behavior that inky appear in that moment..no player right now that has bad behavior like kasparov did
Kasparov was slamming his chair and doors at his WCC in 1995 against Anand. He always had these antics
Kasparov is actually pretty notorious for his emotional outbursts.
If I was playing a guy and he did that I would end up ejected from the tourney. I would have also probably been banned from tourney play.
Get back to theraphy.
@@greatpretender83 yup

Don't be surprised by his morals and kindness . seirawan is fammily known as the Descendants of The Prophet Muhammad and his son الحسين عليه السلام

Who’s the female commentator?
👌
Meanwhile, Firouzja cries over arbiter asking a question.
Yasser is a really tough guy. He also backed down Mike Tyson and George Foreman; at least in his fantasy he did.
???
3:32 My thought as well. As horrendous as Kasparov's behavior was, Yasser had a clear and immediate attempt at recourse that he chose not to use. That's on him.
It's good to remember that back in his hayday, Kasparov got away with some extremely unsportsmanlike behaviour, just like when he cheated against Polgar. So anyone who accuses Magnus of being unprofessional in the Hans saga should find someone else as a shining example of everlasting perfect behaviour (hint: there are none).
All kidding aside.
Anand?
✋✋ only *2.5* points after 7 rounds??
Stockfish must of encountered a glitch in the program? 🤣
This video has nothing to do with Hans, it seems you have an obsession dude....
Ok, so where was the Arbiter?
Just let's that go???
Knocking over all pieces in *2* chess matches???
No!! Wait a minute!!
My bad!!
It was the same Arbiter who allowed Kasparov to double touch a piece with no consequences..
1994 Linares tnmnt game against Judit Polgar.
It's actually on RUclips as it was caught on camera. 🎥
@@yotoober1 Milking the palm.
wow, milking that one story for the millionth time! lol
ive watched about 10 hours of yasser, i never heard this one, ass
Well, if Yasser rarely rages, and he's asked about raging, chances are this story will be retold. He can't just make up imaginary rage stories so he'd have a different story each time such question comes up, can he?
@@Kitcomedy I think I've heard Yasser mention that this incident was the most angry he's ever gotten, but I don't think he's ever mentioned that he got up and was ready to slug Garry lol
Great Story Yasser
