You're really easy to listen to and I like longer videos so I can lay down and relax without trying to constantly finding one I haven't already watched. I would love to see some process videos. Just found your channel this morning. Love this journal so much! I'm now a subbie....I did look back at some of your other video's and didn't see any tutorials on stiffening your fibers with hairspray or starch. I'm very interested in knowing the steps to achieve this. Let me get to catching up watching your video's for now.

    • @TerriPike
      @TerriPike  8 лет назад

      Hi Angela - Dampen the fibers and then add spray starch (or hairspray) and work it in. Scrunch it up into a little wad. Let it dry in that wadded up ball for a few hours, then pull it apart partially and let it dry the rest of the way. Easy! Thanks for watching and subscribing!

    So gorgeous! I love how full and embellished your books are! All the detail is just wonderful! I was wondering if you make copies of images from your old magazines or books, or if you use the actual page? I heard you mention one piece, sheet music I believe, being really fragile, so I assume it was the actual old piece? I ordered a couple of vintage magazines after watching your videos....now I'm afraid to cut into it! lol! I didn't pay alot, so that's not the issue, I think it's the fact I may never find one again. Any advice or ideas are appreciated! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work! Really inspiring!

    • @TerriPike
      @TerriPike  7 лет назад +1

      BaxtersMommaMarci I use the actual page, but if you are nervous about it then photocopy it for sure. I found mine in an antique/flea market type of place.
      The ladies' pics were all in one book and in black and white, but I also brushed coffee on the paper and inked the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink (color-coffee bean).
      Good luck and thanks for the kind words!

    Your work is amazing and inspiring. The detail is phenomenal! Question: Do you make all the little booklets, envelopes, tags, etc a page at a time or do you make them up ahead of time and use where appropriate?

    • @TerriPike
      @TerriPike  8 лет назад

      Thanks Trudy! In answer to your questions:
      I've tried making a book page at a time but it doesn't work for me. I bind all the empty pages into the book first and then fill it up.
      As for the mini books and envelopes etc...
      It was about half and half. Sometimes I require a specific size to fill a space or to fit into a pocket so I make it specifically.
      Other times I go into my little box of finished minis and see if anything is appropriate.
      When I'm not feeling like working in the main book I do some of that other stuff. I get days where I'm "tapped out" creatively and just want to assemble something and keep my hands busy.
