Fond memories of watching this as a kid. Just remembered it for the first time in years and was very glad to see someone had recorded it in decent quality. Very disappointed to hear they no longer do this show anymore...
Visited Las Vegas from Britain and saw this in May 2001 (damn nearly 20 years ago), it was amusing. Being British and someone who loved the classic pirate films, it was a nice surprise. This was a few years before Pirates of the Caribbean film came out. If anyone knows anything about history, there is nothing "Robin Hood" or "romantic" about piracy and the British Navy did what it could to maintain law and order and did pretty much the same as the US Coast Guard does now. Maybe in 200 years they will also be seen as "villains" for doing their job. Shame to hear its not longer running.
What's sad is this show was insanely popular. What ended up happening is the owner of Treasure Island (now TI) didn't like that it wasn't "adult enough" so he scrapped it and tried to do a "sexy burlesque show" with a like Greek Mythology theme (yeah it made zero sense) called "Sirens of TI" and that ran for about 2 years or so and was an absolute failure. It was the worst show and so they scrapped it and permanently docked the ships. The ships thankfully are still there but they are permanently docked and the show will never return. In fact they tore down the whole "fake village" area where the British Man O' War comes around from and build a huge CVS Pharmacy
Craig Aparton and its painted white and looks abandoned and like crap. They completely killed this casino. Ruffin is an idiot. If he would revert back the old theme and show itd bring in people. People WANT to feel entertained and like they are somewhere exotic.
@@AndriaUA I'm sorry to hear it, was defiantly he most unique and my favourite attraction when we visited in 2001. Whilst I did not think it at the time, the 2000's were better in many ways.
@@spartanracer Nobody wants to bring back the early 2000's. I was just in Vegas about a month ago, the whole thing was drained and you could see the whole system the pirate ship would drive on. I assume they were taking out the ships or fixing something.
Didn't have the Pirate Battle there in 2010 when we went, it was just a bunch of young women running around the boat dressed in bikinis and high heels tickling each other.
Rip the pirate show I'll always remember being there with my grandma and family as a kid watching this Everytime I went. Memories I will never forget
British Capitan went down with the ship like a boss

Why did they stop it? Must have been very popular at the peak of the Pirate of the Caribbean films.
jesus christ they killed a classic show. the ending was phenomenal
Tony Z Yeah the new one is like a Britney Spears concert, lame.

I saw this same show during the 1990's, only back then they did this at night.
Back before they turned into a Glee Club
You should have more views! This is the best showing of the original pirate show in the daytime on YT. Thanks!
Thank you!
4:00 - Apparently the "HMS 6th Rate" had a Harley Davidson engine driving her sails.

You right))
I remember watching this show when I was a kid, the ships are still there but they're just for display
Men I miss this great show. Now Treasure Island or TI (which is the name they call it now) is not the same anymore.

Spartan Racer I completley agree. This place has no theme or entertainment value.

When you build a town on a giant sand bar what do you expect?
That is great

The show isn’t going anymore. I’m pretty sure it’s just abandoned.
