As my home mountain I would categorize this as a pretty fair score. Except the views. On a nice day the view of the High Peaks from Fairview and top of Sagamore are fantastic. If I could comment a photo I would. Also one view that always makes me stop is Chatiemac looking to Uncas. You get a look down the mountain and up a nice trail in one look. Also as my home mountain I would agree the place is pretty average, check out other places. ;-)

You need to rethink how you handle doing the view score. Any mountain can have a cloudy day. As for Gore I was just there yesterday for the first time and it was a bluebird day. I have never seen views like that from an east coast mountain. It's stunning to the point where I can imagine a lot of crashes from people distracted by the view.
This is my home mountain and and overall I think your scores were on point except for the views which are some of the best for a NY resort on a clear day and the runs are also pretty good and they're hard to find but the trees are absolutely the best it the state(that I've seen). They even have a park in the woods with log rails and alot of sick features even if it's rarely open because we don't get enough snow.
Zack, my buddies and I ride that trail with the logs and features on our downhill bikes all summer! We ride most of the glade trails in the summer, they are sick.
I did last season at Gore and would completely agree with Jonathan! Views were way better at Whiteface imo and I am thinking of going there instead next season since the passes covers it as well.
Good review though on a clear day the views are really great. From a skiers perspective the Sagamore trail under the burnt ridge quad is one of the best black groomers I've ever ripped... long, wide, multiple headwalls. Awesome!
I wanna see you review my home mountain Greek peak Cortland NY. They need a rude awakening. We used to have a great park and host competitions but they just don’t care anymore. Great lodging, it’s extremely small. The trees are fun as hell. The park really needs to go back how it was 20 years ago..
Hey Gore’s my home mountain and the ratings definitely seem pretty fair overall. I will say though, you’ve really gotta get over to Burnt Ridge and Little Gore. Sure the top has some nice runs like Rumor and Lies but over at the Burnt Ridge lift we've got the longest glades in the Northeast and they're super nice (whenever they can actually open).
This is my home mountain, I feel like if you went with a local who knew the mountain and took you to the right places you would’ve had a much better experience, there are some sick trees runs, and the best ones aren’t even on the map, if u ever come back I highly recommend you go with a local that will take you to the good spots and not to showcase and jib land.
If you want the best lifts defo go to Big Sky Montana, they got a tram, 8 seater with a bubble and heated seats, a new six seater claiming to be the fastest lift in North America, and they have TRIPLE BLACKS.
There is a hidden lodging called the inn on gore mountain. There is no cable but they have wi-fi. Rooms come with two full size beds and a bunk bed that sleeps 6 people and for 70 dollars a night you can't beat that price when your gonna be up on the mountain all day anyways.
If you are thinking of a north east trip again try hitting up Western New York, Bristol, Swain, Laborador, Song Mtn. Not the best skiing in the East, but worth the prices, and a good community.
I think you gave gore a under average rating. Compared to all the ski resorts in NY if you are traveling by way of car coming from the west or central NY Gore is the best mountain. Now the father east you go the better the mountains get. I live in Syracuse NY and Gore I would rate a 75. After Gore the closest and best mountains that offer good terrain parks and sick black diamonds there is whiteface mountain and mount Killington but those are another 2 to 3 hours of driving. So basically if your going by car from the west Gore is Amazing. If your coming from the east or by plane there are better mountains.
I used to live upstate. I learned to ski out there. 25 years ago it was pretty much the same as you say today. Average. We would always take the extra time and distance to save money at better hills like whiteface or stratton.
Idk I think you should change the lodging score. Yeah ski in ski out can be a 10if priced right. But on the mountain, 5 min shuttle should be like a 7. Half mile away 10 min shuttle should be like 5. ..Mile away but multiple choices but shuttle service should be a 4... mile plus and no shuttle should be 3 and under. It would boost scores some, I think it would be more fair... also maybe it would help your channel if a resort knows it might rank above or at average may invite you and comp your stay and ski..... trying to help ....be possibly a good business decision which is a good family decision.. let's goo.. hahaa

I agree that whiteface's views are better but gore's are still very good for NY.
The trees are too tight but they have marked tree runs but they never open them for some reason. But honestly I think a 4 is a bit harsh for runs
They dont open the tree runs unless they have well over a foot of snow there, which isnt very often
if your there in late january/feb they are allways open

One of my favorite mountains in NY. The only drawback for me is the number of flat sections that require considerable poling.
You should do crowds and lift lines instead of would I go back
But once again that depends on the day of the week and time of the season. Some days at Breck are empty! And some are so busy you only get 3 runs

I agree there’s beautiful views of lakes and Adirondack mountains on a couple of the lifts but only visible on clear days
