CMOS Clock Counter - 4060 IC Build

  • This CMOS clock counter counts ecactly one second intervals to 99,999 and then resets to zero to start all over again. The circuit is built using 2 4060 IC's, a handful of 4033 IC's and 7 segment LED displays.
    So why bother building something like this? Well I wanted to create a little reminder for myself that the seconds are always ticking by and there are only 89,400 in each day - so get busy! Plus I thought it would be a good way to help me focus.
    The version in the vid is a 5V one which is powered via a wall adapter. I also did a 9V battery version as well. You can find all the Gerber files, schematic Eagle files etc in my Google Drive below.

    Cool little project, and a good way to remind ourselves that time is indeed slipping away.

    nice idea, nice also that you used "old" ICs, but it really does NOT do the job,
    it should have been somehting that syncs to an NTP and shows the day-time counting down in seconds
    imho :)
