One of the best things from the Cooler movies for me is how he and Frieza fight very differently despite having a very similar build (humanoid with a long tail) and a mostly overlapping moveset (eye beams, death beams, remote detonations of an opponent, big balls of energy as their strongest attack): Frieza, the prodigy who has never trained once in his life, fights in a very unorthodox way, his style is entirely made from scratch, meaning that it reflects his sadistic and somewhat plalyful personality and uses his extremely dextrous tail and very fast eye-beams just as much as the rest of his body, resulting in a style so unique and "strange" that it's unpredictable for the majority of his opponents; while Cooler, who did train for a long time, has a fighting style that is much more in line with most other characters, being a combination of pure phisical strenght (especially in his fifth form) and more martial arts-like movements than his brother, using his tail and eyes more to further an attack and help him keep the pressure in close quarters than to attack directly with them like Frieza does most of the time, almost as if he made his fighting style by combining various high-level hand-to-hand combat tecniques he came across and then integrated them with his unique traits and abilities to make an even deadlier style, and it also reflects his more serious and no-nonsense personality compared to his brother. tl;dr: despite their similarities in both build and skill, Frieza and Cooler have pretty different fighting styles that reflect their personality and training background and I love it.
@@bumblebeemer Thanks. It was something that has been in my head for a long time as a basic "These two fight and act differently despite their similar design, cool" and seeing their battles again, especially Cooler's, gave my mind a promp to think more about that basic thought floating in my head and this video with the full fight frame by frame gave me the idea to further refine that thought and write it here. Also, I didn't really have anything to do so might aswell write a long ass analysis on how two fictional characters fight.
@@MinotaurMickey Not in Z apperentely. And in Super his hand-to-hand *is* more like the rest of the cast than before, so it may be intentional on the creators' part (or maybe I'm over-analyzing and they simply didn't make a fighting style for Freeza specifically).
If the show was actually good and written well half these villains would’ve died to VEGETA like Buu & Cell and even more but that’s not even up for debate
I just realized that cooler knowing instant transmission implies he trained on Yardrat. I kinda like the idea that he just rolled up and didn't blow it up after learning it. Maybe he was gonna go back and learn more techniques since this, again, implies cooler did some sort of training unlike Frieza. Maybe since he's not as much of a genetic freak as Frieza who never had to train he has some respect for cultures that he can gain power from. Probs reading too much into it but I love the idea.
@@badyellowbitchlikeavixen I dunno, the way he wasn't surprised at Goku using it and saying "It's one of my favorite techniques" implies he's known it for some time. But it's not cannon anyways so ya know.

Great video! The only detail you missed around 8:39-8:42 was how Goku's neck was affected by Cooler's grip! His neck was pulsating a bright red color over a span of a few seconds! That was a nicely added detail!
1:25 not mine 😅 I'm of the unpopular opinion about Gohan being great. He's too inconsistent. He's a walking plot device, he's strong when the story needs him to be, then relagated to Z warrior chump when they back glazing Goku😂
This gave me an Ultra Meta Cooler concept, besides the blue card cover and blast cover, every combo he receives his armor breaks but wit the green card, he regrows his arm and damaged parts(15%+ damage buff) sounds like trouble
Hell yes!! Thank you for doing this video bro 🤘🤘 you break these movies/fights down absolutely perfectly in my opinion; and quite hilariously at times 🤣👍👍. I appreciate and respect that you not only point out the martial arts so well; but the scenery and art work, in general, as well. If I may make a next suggestion... It would be dope if you did the fight with super Vegeta and 2nd form cell. Although, whichever you choose to do, it will be great 🔥 Take care!

LIKED AND SUBBED, finally someone who broke down this epic awesome fight, I particularly liked how Metal Cooler just tanked Super Saiyan Vegeta's kick to the neck, trapped his leg and then used some devastating jutaijutsu ground techniques to completely yet temporarily make the Prince of all 3 saiyans his little bitch
11:57 man, dbs would never show scenes like this, where the protags or anyone else, is loosing that much blood fighting the villain. And even then, this still has a much higher quality than dbs, because these are animations made by people, not a computer or a AI. Still, freezer guy managed to wipe out a entire planet. Planet vegeta was obliterated thanks to freezer guy. However, cooler on the other hand is much more evil and sadistic than his brother freezer guy. Another thing cooler would refuse, no matter what, is to ever ally with goku, even if the universe is at stake. They made freezer dirty, by making him join goku's fight in the ToP, just to defeat jiren. Something freezer would ABSOLUTELY despise. Cooler would backstab and kill goku, if the moment was presented. Freezer did not.
The 'frame-activity/impact frames' is what DBS and the franchise overal in animation now lacks a bit. DBS only uses it with transformations and energy beams but not with punches. They dont always flash the image out in DBZ, they also use speedlines (in frame, or specifically on impact like punches) but DBS doesnt really do that, also lack of slowmotion effects when punches or kicks misses. Not even Yuya Takahashi's episodes which had very great artstyle and animation very close to Z, yet did not really had much impact frames.
