Got to be able to take a few comments that don't praise your toy train set , sorry Iam unsubscribing it's all getting a bit me me me , give you 6 months and you'll be ripping it all up again !
Well if he does rip it all up again then we have more entertaining videos and ideas to look forward to. Sheesh this IS a hobby after all that is suppose to let people's minds run wild and show their creativity. Negative comments like this IS what turns people off showing their creations. I myself was hesitant to put my progress up because of these types of things but Graham gave me the attitude in an earlier video and subsequent others of bugger what you lot think it's MY layout I do what I want. So we should. Big thank you Graham As my first video says to all those keyboard warriors and ones that ONLY expect things to be modelled on the last weed growing use the big red X as your emergency exit. So toodles Brian, at least we will enjoy what's coming up. People should also appreciate the time taken to create videos short or long to hopefully inspire future people into the hobby. So give yourself 6 months for an attitude readjustment maybe!! Oh wait you don't have any videos on your layout do you. Typical!!
@@seanbaldwin7933 well said sean it all about making good layouts and making them more ideas to the hobby even though i am make construction site layouts too and i rip them up as well to get more cool stuff added too
Regardless of what your building and making it is how your happy with the outcome is what matters, and doing these videos is a bit of joy from the producer of "ooo I made this". Ok suggestions go along way but end of the day it's the owners satisfaction not ours that matters, just chill and enjoy their journey. :)
Phil R Thank you very much Phil, I have carried on with the village since making this video and it’s coming along well (I think!), I’m hoping to complete the village area in a couple of weeks now with a bit of luck. Cheers for now mate. ........... Graham
Hovermotion Thank you my friend and yes, we’re all fine thanks and hope you are too. This seems to be coming along nicely now, the hardest part was making the cycle track but that’s all done now so I can concentrate on building the rest of the village which is what I’m doing now, hopefully I should have it nearly complete in a couple of weeks. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
You got a great layout there Graham the village is looking great and the push bikes look just great real fun stuff it all adds to it, well done to you mate.
Tony Slight Many thanks Tony, I’m well pleased with the way the village and the cyclists are coming out, it adds a completely different feel to the layout and a-art from the cars then it’s not at all age related. Cheers for now mate. ............. Graham
venusboys3 I saw these a couple of years ago and always wanted to have some on my layout so when the rebuild came along then I knew I would have to fit them in which I think works well in that particular scene, it should look better than this once completed. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
zod zod Thank you very much John, that’s pleased me no end. 👍🏻. The village has progressed a little since making this video so onwards and upwards as they say! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ............ Graham
Hahahahahaha Hi Graham, absolutely love the cycle track, looks brilliant. As for not being able to see trains at the back, isn't that the idea with a model railway, you want to get glimpses of the trains appearing and disappearing in and out of cuttings and tunnels, it gives the impression of the trains going off to somewhere else. Brilliant modelling, wonderful to see, ignore the negative types, they probably couldn't do anything half as good, the rest of us love it, I for one am very envious and would be happy with something even a fraction as good as this, Cheers Rich
Gwrdriver16 Pleased that you like the cycle track mate, I’ve enjoyed making it work and it gives me a great big smile each time I switch it on - having fun is what it’s all about! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. .......... Graham
TEZ WILLIAMS Hi Tez and thank you for the comment and so sorry my reply is so late. The whole back area of the village has now been completed and hopefully you will see what I have done on the next update which hopefully will be at the weekend. Cheers for now mate. ........... Graham
Paul Young Hi Paul and sorry for the late reply. I hadn’t seen a cycle track before - well not like this one anyway so it was a bit of a challenge for me to create one. It hasn’t been easy but it’s almost there now. The village itself is coming along nicely and I would hope to have it finished in a couple of weeks as long as I can get the time in the train room. Cheers for now mate. ............ Graham
Hi Graham, Its looking good, love the 2 bikes. As for the comments about not being able to reach this or see that, at the end of the day its your layout and its about what you want. Keep up the good work, Chris
Chris Edmundson Many thanks Chris and I’m pleased you enjoyed it. As for the comments then I have no problem in constructive criticism, but not just plain stupid ones. I actually do try and plan things out before I start a scene so I do go through most aspects and try and eliminate anything that might cause problems, I don’t always catch them but the ‘reaching’ and ‘height’ situation was thought about. But hey ho, people feel they must have their two penny worth I guess. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Absolutely love following your amazing progress and quality of work Graham. I am confident that many modellers have been inspired by your work and creativity. So many examples of original ideas being put into practice eg your station lift!! Looking forward to your next update report already. Keep safe and well. Cheers.
Murray Hall Thank you very much Murray, the lift is one of my favourites on the layout as regards movement, it took me a while to design it and think it through, not just the working part of the lift but how I control it on the iPad rather than just having a switch but I got there in the end and it was really satisfying to see it work properly for the first time. The village is now coming along well with the hardest part done which obviously is the cyclist and the track - that took me quite a while to sort out. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Love what you've done to the cycle track Graham... putting in the path and the foliage. What a place to park your bikes and watch the trains go by. Its all coming together lovely now. All the best.
tim jd dowd Thank you Tim and yes, that’s a great spot to park the bikes and just watch a few trains go by - not sure Hazel would enjoy it too much though! 😂😂. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Trust me when I say Lakeside is more than just a 'normal' model railway Graham. Lakeside is superb and up there with the best. Your imagination is second to none and everything you build has a story to tell. Keep doing what you are doing Graham and don't change for anyone. Your videos are always one of the first I look out for whenever I jump on to RUclips. It's a massive thumbs up from me as always. All the very best, Jamie
Pennyhill Junction Blimey Jamie, thank you so much my friend for that really kind comment, as long as I can continue to entertain folk and I’m having a ball at the same time then that’s really all what matters to me as regards this layout. I’m enjoying myself so much with this build and I’m so glad that I got into this hobby. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
Chadwick Model Railway Thank you Charlie and coming from you then that’s a real compliment sir - thank you! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Greenhill Junction Thank you sir, I had the idea in my head for some time but just wasn’t sure if I could make it work and also make it work convincingly, but it’s turned out not too bad even at this early stage, hopefully it will look better once complete. Cheers for now mate. ............ Graham
stephen ashby Wow, thank you Stephen for that very kind comment mate, that’s very kind of you to say and is greatly appreciated - thank you! 👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Lee Clarke Exactly Lee, they are so cute and not often seen on a U.K. layout although I think we might see a few more appearing now! 😉. Cheers for now mate. ..........Graham
Trevor Rothwell Many thanks Trevor, yes the cyclist add to the movement I’m trying to create on this layout along with the bus and of course the trains too. It all adds to the fun factor I’m trying to achieve. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
paul roberts Thank you Paul and I’m so pleased that you like the cycle track, as I said in the video, I still have more work to do on that (and the rest of the village of course) but it’s getting there and I can now see it taking shape. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
I’ve personally never commented before on any of you’re videos, but I’ve truly enjoyed watching you build all of this for quite some time, the detail and effort you put in is remarkable & I shall continue watching all videos you make
Christopher Patrick Wow Christopher, that’s a really inspiring comment to make sir - thank you. I hope that you will continue to watch and maybe comment now and again with interest. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
michael hicks Thank you very much Michael, I would think that it’s going to take about another month to get it to reasonably near how I want it to look, still a lot of work to be done on it yet. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Hello Graham, wow! You accomplished a lot since the last video. The row of houses, the bike path, the lights, all the foliage, the bridge from the high street, all the details and light weathering. Great job. The opening shot with the bikes and the Range Rover, all illuminated by natural light, stunning. Thanks, see ya next time.
Norman Rowe It’s funny Norman but I didn’t think that I had done that much but obviously I have from that list, never thought of it that way, anyway, it is gradually getting there and I’m pleased with it so far. When I saw that thumbnail I thought it has to be that, it did come out well I have to admit. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Hi Graham - I am blown away by what you have done with the cycle track it looks brilliant you can almost sense the muddy puddles. Also great progress with the rest of the village. And as many others have said ignore the idiots with the snide comments. Cheers Kev
Medway Peninsula Model Railway Many thanks Kev and I’m pleased that you like what you see at the moment, give me a month or so and I think that area will be complete. Cheers for now buddy. ......... Graham
david nally That’s very kind of you to say David but I think being patient with what I do helps me to look clever - I’m not really! 😂. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
alex S Blimey, thank you Alex, that’s a really kind thing to say and greatly appreciated too - thank you! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
Fantastic Graham! Those cyclists are wonderful and your village is looking awesome, your layout is a real inspiration for what I am doing on my own layout. Can't wait for the next update 👍👍
Right Track Signs That’s excellent to know that you are finding this inspirational for your own layout, that’s what the sharing of videos is for, to get others to think how they might be able to adapt an idea for their own layout. So pleased that you are enjoying it so far. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Redbank I prefer to add little bits of detail as I just think it can bring the scene to life a little and it doesn’t take too long to do either. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
The village looks fantastic. What a jump from the last view; you really got so much more done. With no false flattery or patronizing, I can say the bike path for Hazel and you may be one of the most brilliant little things I have seen on a layout. My wife and I just grinned watching it. You are quite the grand gent with your creations! Cheers!
Anthony Dodge The Model Train Outsider That’s a really nice thing to say Anthony, thank you sir. If you and your wife grinned while watching this then it’s served it’s purpose. If it gives me joy to build and to you when watching then I will take that as a success - forget what it looks like! Many thanks once again for such a kind comment. Cheers for now buddy. .........Graham
I love the bikes. I’m still debating if I want to add these to my layout when the time comes. They really do add that antra bit of fun to watch! Certainly a lot of progress made on your layout. The homes, the roads and the area is looking lovely. Very inspiring work, Clint
Leila Central Many thanks Clint for the kind comment, it’s difficult sometimes when you see something on another layout whether to include it or not on your own layout. I think the main issue is will it fit - not physically although that has to be taken into consideration of course but whether it will fit into a particular scene pictorially, only you can decide on both those. Having said that then they are great fun to watch and add an extra bit of movement to the layout. Hope that helps. Cheers for now mate. ..........Graham
Had the privilege to watch every video since you first started the current Lakeside and I have certainly admired the journey. I think your townscape is probably the finest I have seen on a British layout. I guess negative people are most inclined to make negative comments. If we are honest with ourselves then we are all bound to very occasionally question yours or any other you tubers modelling rationale but if we have any sense of decency or integrity then we must learn to keep those thoughts to ourselves and only send encouragement to people like your good self, whose only motivation is to dedicate their time posting the progress of such a fine layout as Lakeside.
Tom Petty Thank you so much for that very kind comment Tom and as always, it’s greatly appreciated. It’s so difficult sometimes to get over what I am planning in the initial stages and I can honestly see why folk might say that it won’t work or have you thought about. . . But I have always said that unless people are beside me seeing what I am seeing and explaining the rational behind it then it’s not immediately obvious just looking at something on a screen from an amateur video, that’s a big ask sometimes. So I can understand sometimes the comments. It’s the rude comments that I feel are unnecessary, helpful constructive criticism is always taken on board even if I choose not to use it for whatever reason. It’s a difficult situation which is not always apparent. Anyway, I’m having a ball so that’s all what matters. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
I've got to say this Graham... I absolutely loved this update, I mean... there are so many points I love on this, the idea of the village and the bikes etc. But, the one thing that I love most, is your personal attachment such as you and the wife cycling, its absolutely brilliant. We discussed on my last video how we both love both detail and the personal touch; you get thumbs up from me on both parts. Great work Graham and look forward to seeing more. All the best mate, Lee
Lee Whall Wow, thank you Lee, really appreciate that mate. When I’m planning anything on the layout I’m always trying to introduce a personal touch by bringing in things I remember, family members and friends, so it becomes a more personal thing to me than just a model railway. When I look at certain little scenes I have then invariably it will remind me of something in the past or someone close to me which for me, makes it just that little bit more interesting but to someone just looking then it wouldn’t mean too much. Anyway, I’m happy so that’s the main thing! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Hello Graham, Wow!! what a fantastic job with the village & cycle track!! As always, you are knocking it out the park. The cycle path looks superb, very realistic! All the detailing with the building lights, the gate at the end of the path, the cracks on the road etc, it is all those little things that add character and realism to the scene. Really looking forward to the next upate. Cheers for now, Derek
DarkLord8888 Many thanks Derek, I do have a little giggle to myself sometimes when people suggest “how about having . . .” Not knowing what I have planned and then bingo. It appears! Planned a while ago but not said anything, I think it’s great! 👍🏻👍🏻. But you are right of course, it is all those little details which help to make a scene a more interesting scene. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
Great progress there Graham, thanks very much for sharing with us. Lovely shot at around 2:30; that's absolute class, it really is. Agree with you about level of detail and the time this can take if you go in for it in a big way. To be honest, as the years pass, my damned eyesight - even with specs wouldn't wholly appreciate it anyway. Thanks again mate, best wishes, Ian
Ian Leyburn Hi Ian and thank you for the kind comment. I think the level of detail I’m adding is about right for this style of layout, it’s not for exhibiting or meant to be hi-fidelity, just a normal model railway along with the rest of them. I’m pretty lucky even at my age (71) to have reasonable eyesight but I do know that a lot of my subscribers are not as fortunate as most of them are about my age (according to my RUclips stats) so yes, I know exactly what you mean. Anyway, I’m glad you enjoyed it my friend, that’s what it’s all about. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Hi Graham, loved this video update, wow your layout has changed since I my departure from the hobby, I am so pleased to be back looking at your videos, and everyone else's. I love the cracking in your road, looks very effective...Simon
Simon -Liverton Central Thank you very much Simon and yes, it’s amazing the changes that have been made within a year, not just my layout and everyone else’s but the hobby as a whole, a lot more tech stuff which will suit you down to the ground! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Dear graham. I love your attitude to these keyboard warriors. If I could subscribe twice to replace captain space bar I would. I recently had a go at building a very small layout for my autistic son, thanks in part to you and many other you tubers showing us things. That’s reality. How high your village is is irrelevant. The smile on my sons face however was priceless. Cheers mate. O
JT AUS Oh wow mate, your comment bought a smile to my face after reading about your son, that is fabulous and that alone has made this video even more worthwhile. Thank you my friend and your comment is greatly appreciated too. Cheers for now mate. ............ Graham
Graham without a doubt yours is one of the best layouts if not thee best. 🏆 Beautiful. You are an amazing model railway builder. Many thanks from all of us. 👌❤️ Steve
Andrew Grabon Thank you very much Andrew, it’s the little details which I think adds to the overall look of the scene. Cheers for now mate. .............Graham
fanbloodytastic ...your layout is superb...love that citroen ds in the car park....your work is truly wonderful to see graham..each time i say this but roll on the next update ...cheers..
SF-RATON-NZ Thank you Kevin and I’m glad you like it so far, I’m very pleased with the way it’s going and I’m really enjoying myself creating it. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Hi Graham great layout . It nice to see you put this together in a short time . I been 5 year building balton town and still building. Great job and done let these fools get you down it your layout cheers happy modeling 👍
Ian James Thank you Ian, I have had many comments saying how quickly I have done this but to me then it seems that I haven’t done that much but I guess it’s because I’m doing it that I don’t actually appreciate just how much I have done. The main thing is not the time but the sheer enjoyment I get from creating it, it makes me smile when I step back and see something work for the first time after creating it from nothing - that so the fun of modelling this layout I think. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
The cyclists look great....reminds me of Howard & Marina from Last of the Summer Wine..😀. The village being slightly elevated above the rail tracks looks just great Graham...Just like what you would see at 1:1 scale...😁👍. Now just waiting a group of cyclists doing a time trail around the village...😉. Keep up the great work on your railway. 🙂
Gary Lewis Thanks Gary and Howard and Marina have been mentioned a few times now! 😂😂. I’m working on the village now so I’m hoping that the next update will show it a little more complete. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Dwight Kerley Many thanks Dwight, I’m having a ball building this layout up, I get so much enjoyment from it - both in the building and the running of it. Cheers for now buddy. ............Graham
Chris Walker Hi Chris and thank you. I wanted the cyclists to be doing something a little than just riding along the road and a cycle track seemed a good idea, hopefully once I’ve finished it off then it will look a little better than what it does now. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Hi Graham, I love the way the village is shaping up. Your poor little legs were whizzing round so fast at times. Made me smile when you speeded Hazel up round the corner, I thought she was going headfirst into the hedge..............Anyway I joke, I'd never wish that on her................Great video and thanks again, details I guess next then. Best regards Dave.
stretchedits Hi Dave and thank you mate. I guess it’s going to be a mixture of details and completing the rest of the landscape - gardens, embankment, bedding in the houses - the list goes on. But whatever I do I know that I will be enjoying myself which is the main thing. Cheers for now buddy. ............Graham
Hi Graham really coming together now just a thought of a canal or small river on left side of the slope winding around the back of the gardens keep up the good work
Trevor Slater Hi Trevor and thank you, I don’t think with the room I have left that I could build a canal or small river convincingly especially when I have to take into account the Manor House which is going to go in very close proximity but a nice thought though - thank you. Cheers for now. ...........Graham
What a great layout! Excellent craftsmanship and certainly far from ordinary! 👍👍 The magnorail cyclists are great and you've integrated them into the landscape brilliantly. The last time I saw this was on a tram model of O'Connell Street, Dublin but I like the twists and turns you've included. Superb😁😁😁
Ray MacFadyen Good morning Ray and thank you so much for that kind comment. I did look at many videos before doing this scene and it struck me that most were of cyclist on a street - I wanted something a little different and thought about a cycle track but wasn’t sure if I could pull it convincingly as I had to allow the cyclist to move on a smooth surface, but it seems to have worked out ok so far, still some detailing left to do but the basics are now there and will hopefully look better as time goes on. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Bang got you junction Carl Braund Thank you, it’s things like having all buildings sitting correctly which bug me and stands out like a sore thumb to me but I admit that it’s not that important, but just correcting that alone can make all the difference but that’s just my opinion of course. Anyway, I shall be doing those shortly as it’s now time for me to start detailing around the buildings so I need to do that first. Cheers for now buddy. ..........Graham
Castlebridge OB owner. Many thanks Barry and I’m pleased that you like the cycle path, hopefully it will look a bit better once totally finished. Cheers for now. ..........Graham
Graham the village really is coming on and i have enjoyed this clip....each clip you produce always keeps me fixed to the screen ..keep well keep safe till the next clip ....
Wonderful stuff mate. The cycle track looks incredibly realistic, I absolutely love this concept. Also, the sunshine through your roof windows makes the scene look as though its outdoors and real! Magical.
quarryfield Hi mate and thank you. Yes the sun came out just at the right time for that shot, when I saw that image come up for the thumbnail then I knew I had to use it, I have to admit that it’s a great shot. Cheers for now mate. ..........Graham
Hi Graham, I am not a train modeller myself but I have been following you for months on your build of Lakeside and I thoroughly enjoy every video you post. Some of the comments that people make, such as the height of your village, are, in my option pathetic. It is your layout and you do what you want. You are a great craftsman and your work shows your skills. PLEASE don't stop, thank you and keep rolling and keep posting :-)
Richard W in London Hi Richard and many thanks for the comment and also for still following me even though you don’t have a layout of your own - that’s real dedication! I am used to the odd one or two negative comments, it’s par for the course on RUclips I’m afraid. Everyone (or mostly everyone) gets these. I either reply to them, ignore them or delete them but I don’t get upset by them, in fact I feel sorry for them theses days. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
Graham, that turned out really nice. Your diorama skills are amazing. Love the bikes riding around and details look perfect. Thanks for sharing and stay safe. Ken
M and B Homestead Thanks Ken, hopefully by the time I’m finished with this scene then it will look even better but there is a lot more work for me to get done before I reach that stage but it’s all great fun to create, I’m really enjoying it! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Lovely work Graham, the village is looking smart. Especially like the weathering on the houses and the subtle lighting, brilliant. Oh, and of course the bikes are fantastic 😁 There's always one house in the street that has an old, tarpaulin covered car in the garden ! Rgds, Andy
Sharlston Eastgate Hi Andy and thanks for the comment. Yep, there’s always one that lets the side down isn’t there! 😂😂. I know a few like that. I took a chance on those bikes because I wasn’t sure if I could make it convincing enough to be honest but I think it’s working out ok at the moment but still a few more details to add as I go along - all good fun though! 👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
Looking great Graham, Every time I watch the cyclists I chuckle to my self, it looks so realistic with the little legs working so hard. The village is taking shape nicely. Carry on with the great work. Clive.
Clive briggs Those cyclist always make me chuckle too Clive when I see them pedalling, this village scene is turning out to be a real fun project to create, there is so much I can do with this and no doubt I will be doing this for a good few weeks yet. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
Graham that’s looking so good mate, you achieve so much in such a short space of time, magnorail just looks the business like the faller system with your busses, the whole point is to enjoy what you’ve done and that definitely comes across in the way you talk about it, well done mate I’m so pleased for you and thanks for sharing, cheers Darrell
Darrell Deltic Many thanks Darrell for that kind comment and yes, I need to enjoy what I’m doing otherwise there’s no point in doing it just for the sake of it. Really pleased that you enjoyed it! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Lovely job Graham. When you were discussing your publishing this update, and the comments you received about the tracks obstructed Line Of Sight prospective, I thought back to something you previously had said about your updates. That you had started recording your progress on Lakeside as an archive of your artistry and insurance inventory. I appear to have over stepped when I commented the Village reducing the Eye Line. But you made it clear here. For that I am truly sorry. Following the July 4th Holiday, here in the U.S., my entire train room will be shut down until sometime in 2021 or 2022. I am going to do a MAJOR rehab of the layout. The first rehab in about 15 years. (The layout is now 63 years old and about due for some changes.) So the reason for my comment, though not forgivable, is my entire layout is built upon a collection of Second Hand Kitchen Cabinets which are 36" (91.44cm) cubed. Through the year the layout has had visitors to watch the trains rolling. And any viewer over 4 foot tall can see the entire foreground to back scenes without obstructions. So as you pointed out you have no break in the eye line from your 6 foot (2 meter) plus height. Than the Village platform is good for Lakeside viewing and architectural sloping designs. At times RxR Modelers see elements in our collective layouts not as an object of critique, but an observation of what the Railway Manager may have not seen. Problems and solutions we have already went through and MAY HAVE solved. So you don't have to meet with such issues after that final coat of Scenic Cement. It's these observations which make ALL of our three dimensional artworks just a bit better. And so too our community and villages. So to the Bard's Mid-Summer dream. As Robin/Puck concludes: Gentles, do not reprehend. If you pardon, we will mend. And, as I am an honest Puck, If we have unearnèd luck Now to ’scape the serpent’s tongue, We will make amends ere long. Else the Puck a liar call. So good night unto you all. Give me your hands if we be friends, And Robin shall restore amends. ~Jim
William Bryant Many thanks William, I think we all see things differently and I just try to model in the way I see things and try to emulate real life in model form the best I can without going over the top too much. Hope that makes sense. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
At 13:38 poor window cleaner doing his job and same hand causes an earthquake, lucky not too fall haha. so Graham i reckon this was an afternoons 2 hours of work ( 3hrs with cuppa break ) what will you be doing for rest of week lol. Actually at 7:50 the village location to the window really gives great viewing of a typical days weather, cloudy at the back with sun streaking on the village gave realtime shadows as the bike moved. simple excellence as always Graham, cheers ken
Newbottle Station Thank you my friend, those bikes really are captivating and like you, I can watch them for ages! 👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ..........Graham
Glad to see you're not a classic car snob and allowed a Marina in to the meeting! ;-) The more I see your Magnorail the more I want a set. I will have to have a think cos I'm not lifting any of my current layout to accommodate it! And don't do yourself down Graham (that's what we're here for!) - it's way better than "standard". Cheers
davie maclean The Marina is great classic car especially when they turn up not being pulled by a breakdown truck! 👍🏻👍🏻 So when are we going to see this layout of yours on YT Davie, I’m itching to see it! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
@@GrahamFoulston Probably never! There's much more hi-tech stuff out there to catch the eye and I struggle to take a decent photograph never mind a video!
@@daviemaclean61 Dave I remember a certain Mr Foulston persuading me to make a video of my layout once. He's very persuasive, even from a distance..................Glad I did though, even if it was just to record my efforts for myself and nobody else bothers to watch.................Best regards and looking out for that video, Dave.
I'm from Belgium and I can't get enough of your layout. It's absolutely marvelous to see everything. I love your bike trail and I think you are the best in what you do... Can't wait for you next project (maybe container yard?) All the people with the silly comments they don't know what they are saying. Keep up the good work
Anthony Strathmore road junction Thank you Anthony, that’s very kind of you to say mate, thank you. So what made you decide not to take it up in the end. I have to admit that I didn’t think it was bad enough to take up and in fact I love your layout but I know that no matter how good it looks, if you are not happy with operating it or the way it looks then something needs to be done. Anyway, in a way, I’m glad you are leaving it as I enjoy looking at it on the videos. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Great wrap up for the Magnorail System Graham. It really does create magic on a layout. My only concern was allayed when you said the embankment was still to go in as I could just see the Historical vehicles drivers after spending a day in the pub might be a bit giggly and get in their historicals and hysterically reverse instead of going forwards!! Keep up the great work. By the way, Luke Towan has hinted to me that he has an idea for another diorama featuring the Magnorail System - can't wait for that - Clyde - MagnorailOz
klatchco56 😂😂. Yes, that could be a bit of a problem, I don’t think I would want to see cars going off down the embankment! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Wow Graham, you have done a brilliant job on that mate. I had concerns about you reaching the back but to be honest, knew that you know what you are doing so would never question it. Whoever comments with negativity about certain things, knowing you do what you do with layouts, are quite obviously just meant to annoy and wind up. They obviously haven’t been following you very long have they. It’s yours and 99.9% of us admire the work and find inspiration from you...balls to the others 👏🏼👏🏼👍🏻👍🏻
Wheezy Palace Model Railway Many thanks my friend, it’s par for the course these days I’m afraid especially on RUclips or any other social medial platform, I really don’t mind constructive criticism and in fact it’s welcomed as I’m no expert and can learn from other folks ideas but I will not tolerate rude or personal comments, I won’t tolerate it in real life and I certainly won’t accept it on a social media platform - end of. Onwards and upwards as they say, I’m not going to let a couple of negative comment get in the way of me enjoying myself and if that’s what people are trying to do then they are out of luck. Cheers for now buddy. ..........Graham
Another nice addition to the layout Graham. The village is coming together nicely. It may not be a Luke but it is a Graham and thats a cut above what most of us can achieve. Onwards and upwards.
The cycle track really is something special now the folliage etc added, great to see. The raised village adds an extra level of interest as does the shallow railway cutting to the rear giving a more natural slope to the road feeding it all. Great stuff, enjoy all that detailing. I see that if you go too long with magnorail some folk get a really annoying "cyclic" whirr that repeats every 1 to 2 sec, that would drive me nuts, great to see short works so well, lesson learnt as they say.... Stephen
Stephen Pike Hi Stephen, I’m so glad that you can see what I was trying to do with the raised section of the village, not everyone gets that. The Magnorail is fine as long as you keep to some basic rules I.e. not making it too long, this poses a few problems if you do which is why I only chose to have a short loop and one motor, it seems to have paid off. The annoying thing when videoing it is that the mic makes it sound so loud when in actual fact it’s much quieter in real life then when being recorded - hopefully people will understand that. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Wow, yet more amazing modelling. I love what you have done so far, I can see that there is more to do but what you have achieved thus far is wonderful. Looking forward to future episodes. Thank you for your efforts.
Michael Thurgar Hi Michael and thank you, yes much more work to do even on what you see at the moment let alone work which hasn’t been started yet on the village but there’s no rush, just take my time and enjoy what I’m doing! 👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Thanks for the update Graham, the new scene looks great. Really love the Magnorail cyclists, very clever. Shame about the negative comments to you, its your layout that you very kindly choose to share with us. Lets just enjoy your layout.
Hi Graham, can't believe the progress its looking fantastic, the only thing I would pull you up on is, this is no ordinary layout! your attention to detail is superb it's like nothing else well done you. It's a shame with not only your layout but all the layouts tucked away in lofts that people can't see these works of art for themselves. Looking forward to the next one. You and the family stay safe Eddy xx
Amery Junction Thank you very much mate, I feel as if Ive been slow to be honest but the main thing is it’s gradually getting there and I’m very happy with what I’ve done so far, it’s coming on. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
Graham Foulston slow !!!!! Nothing near that at all , your like a speed boat or a jet ski . So fast . My magnarail I put down 6 months ago , on one of my layouts . I still haven’t wired it up , to scared incase it derailed the chain and all fell off lol 😂
Great job with the magnorail graham, I think your right is a great system for a small area but could cause some issues on anything bigger. I like the way you've kept it simple by just having the bikes which in my opinion look so much better with the legs peddling than cars following each other at exactly the same speed and distance between. Your bikes are a couple having a ride out unlike cars which would be run at various speeds.
Ewood Railway Yes mate, it’s logical really that the longer the chain, the more guide wheels the the noisier and probably the more unreliable it will be. Keeping it reasonably short like we have done is probably the best solution. I also agree with you about the cars, seeing them travelling all at identical speeds following each other doesn’t really convince me but the cyclists are totally different especially with seeing their little legs going ten to the dozen. 😂. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Hi graham, thought you’d put an armoured tank in one of the back gardens for a moment there🤣. Looking absolutely fab can’t wait for the full completion of the village. Take care, Paul.
Mine6469 Hi Paul, I assume you mean the old car in the back garden? I haven’t positioned that yet to how it will end up and hopefully it will be more obvious that it’s a car and not a tank when finished! 😂😂👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ..........Graham
Wow absolutely fantastic The speed at witch your progressing is amazing Does you’re dear wife set eyes on your good self when you give such commitment to your wonderful layout ha ha Don’t worry about silly negative comments From my humble perspective I look in awe at the achievements you have performed From deciding to dismantle your first layout To rising like a Fenix to better what went before Which is in Of it’s self quite remarkable I can only assume your general disposition is of dogged determination But you always show kindness in your approach to negativity and brush it off with humour. So sir keep me and your many friends and followers enthralled Bess you and your family Kind regards as always Mike here in the U.K.
AMARCY53 Hi Mike and so sorry for the late reply but I’ve been having problems with replying on RUclips but it now seems to have resolved itself. Thank you so much for those kind words sir, they are truly appreciated. I’m afraid it’s par for the course when posting a video on RUclips these days, you get the likers and the haters of which I have two on this video alone but you learn to live with them and just ignore them, they are of no consequence to me and in a way I feel a little sorry for them, they must have either very sad lives or have anger management problems, either way it’s of no interest to me anymore. I’m enjoying myself so much and the vast amount of folk enjoy the updates too so that’s all what matters. So, no worries, I shall hopefully be around for sometime yet as long as my health allows me to. Cheers for now my friend. ............Graham
GWR Fan 281 Thank you and yes, this has come on a long way since I first started it a month or so ago, I’m really happy with it so far but obviously a lot more to do to it yet but all in good time, there’s no rush. Cheers for now mate. ..........Graham
As I've commented before Graham, excellent attention to detail. You are building to exhibition standard. Almost every video you post is food for thought no matter what scale you model (I wish Faller did a set in N scale). As for the naysayers - build a bridge and get over it please.
Ken Batten Hi Ken and thank you for the comment, to be honest I’m not building this intentionally to exhibition standards, far from it really, I am just building it to the best to my ability and how I want to see it but thank you my friend, that’s very kind of you to say. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Standard, normal, everyday.........get real Graham it's amazing! (The tire service lorry looks very new though......)the sound Quality is really good now, many thanks Graham most enjoyable!
Billabong O'neill Thank you, yes the tyre service vehicle is brand new, the driver only picked it two days ago, he’s well chuffed with it. I’m glad you like the sound quality too. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
Got to be able to take a few comments that don't praise your toy train set , sorry Iam unsubscribing it's all getting a bit me me me , give you 6 months and you'll be ripping it all up again !
that very mean thing to say he trying to give his best and the layout is very good and brilliant i love the videos and comments
Big thank you Graham
As my first video says to all those keyboard warriors and ones that ONLY expect things to be modelled on the last weed growing use the big red X as your emergency exit.
Why tell everybody, - unless it's to get attention. Just do it!
Gorgeous, simply gorgeous...A fantastic atmosphere, and the bikes are magic...😍😍😍😍
Phil R Thank you very much Phil, I have carried on with the village since making this video and it’s coming along well (I think!), I’m hoping to complete the village area in a couple of weeks now with a bit of luck. Cheers for now mate. ........... Graham
Hi Graham...I hope you are well, wow that is bonkers cool.....amazing work ive not stopped by for a while..
love that broken tree aswell.
Graham
Looks fantastic Graham, well done.
Goût Valley Thank you sir and much appreciated. 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now. ........... Graham
Holy cow!
Those bicyclists are amazing! I'm not a train hobbyist and didn't know such things existed. They're marvelous!
venusboys3 I saw these a couple of years ago and always wanted to have some on my layout so when the rebuild came along then I knew I would have to fit them in which I think works well in that particular scene, it should look better than this once completed. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
Bloody great mate love it so much well done Graham ! Gave me some ideas ! John from Chichester.
zod zod Thank you very much John, that’s pleased me no end. 👍🏻. The village has progressed a little since making this video so onwards and upwards as they say! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ............ Graham
Hahahahahaha
Hi Graham, absolutely love the cycle track, looks brilliant. As for not being able to see trains at the back, isn't that the idea with a model railway, you want to get glimpses of the trains appearing and disappearing in and out of cuttings and tunnels, it gives the impression of the trains going off to somewhere else. Brilliant modelling, wonderful to see, ignore the negative types, they probably couldn't do anything half as good, the rest of us love it, I for one am very envious and would be happy with something even a fraction as good as this,
Cheers Rich
Gwrdriver16 Pleased that you like the cycle track mate, I’ve enjoyed making it work and it gives me a great big smile each time I switch it on - having fun is what it’s all about! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. .......... Graham
looking good love the push bikes the patch of grass next to the pub would make a great beer garden with a good view of the trains ?
TEZ WILLIAMS Hi Tez and thank you for the comment and so sorry my reply is so late. The whole back area of the village has now been completed and hopefully you will see what I have done on the next update which hopefully will be at the weekend. Cheers for now mate. ........... Graham
Brilliant cycle track, never seen one before looking forward to the next update.
Looking Great Graham!
Stephen Miller Thank you Stephen and really appreciate that. 👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
wow those bicyclists are really impressive! very inspirational.
Mystic Southern Railway Thank you and yes, they are great fun to watch and add a little movement to that area. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
absolutely superb Graham , it really does look fantastic!
jon kuru Thank you Jon and I’m pleased that you like it so far mate. Cheers for now. .........Graham
Brilliant Graham, absolutely brilliant.
Chadwick Model Railway Thank you Charlie and coming from you then that’s a real compliment sir - thank you! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Loving the bikes and the track round the back of the village. Such a unique feature. You've done a great job building up that scene. 👏👍
Greenhill Junction Thank you sir, I had the idea in my head for some time but just wasn’t sure if I could make it work and also make it work convincingly, but it’s turned out not too bad even at this early stage, hopefully it will look better once complete. Cheers for now mate. ............ Graham
this is one of the best looking layouts i have seen.love the drains and cracks in the road
stephen ashby Wow, thank you Stephen for that very kind comment mate, that’s very kind of you to say and is greatly appreciated - thank you! 👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
How can the little bikes NOT bring a smile to everyone's face.... Lovely 🌈😷🇬🇧
Lee Clarke Exactly Lee, they are so cute and not often seen on a U.K. layout although I think we might see a few more appearing now! 😉. Cheers for now mate. ..........Graham
Hi Graham, the cyclists are a great bit of fun, yet again superb work, your videos are always an inspiration
Colin newmarch Thank you Colin and much appreciated sir. Cheers for now. ........ Graham
Love the new developments, especially the off-road cycling....... What a great idea!
Trevor Rothwell Many thanks Trevor, yes the cyclist add to the movement I’m trying to create on this layout along with the bus and of course the trains too. It all adds to the fun factor I’m trying to achieve. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
Hi Graham. The village is coming along great I absolutely love the cycle track and the bikes are brill keep up the good work . Paul..........
paul roberts Thank you Paul and I’m so pleased that you like the cycle track, as I said in the video, I still have more work to do on that (and the rest of the village of course) but it’s getting there and I can now see it taking shape.
Layout is looking amazing love the cyclists , I think the village is great can't wait to see it all finished 👍
michael hicks Thank you very much Michael, I would think that it’s going to take about another month to get it to reasonably near how I want it to look, still a lot of work to be done on it yet.
Cheers for now buddy. ......... Graham
It is coming together nicely Graham. Always love to see what you are upto on the layout.
Scott Malcolm Many thanks Scott and pleased that you like it so far. Cheers for now buddy. ...........Graham
Such a joy to watch! Thank you Graham.
Chris Koroknay That’s great Chris and pleased that you enjoyed it. Cheers for now mate. ........Graham
The magnorail looks nice with the bikes and the village is also looking good great job mate.
Exeter Central Thanks mate and much appreciated. Cheers for now. ..........Graham
Hi Graham. Looks Brilliant. Your a very clever man. Well done.
david nally That’s very kind of you to say David but I think being patient with what I do helps me to look clever - I’m not really! 😂. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
Graham Have to say that this layout is brilliant, craftsmanship is spot on & the cyclists are great fun factor
alex S Blimey, thank you Alex, that’s a really kind thing to say and greatly appreciated too - thank you!
Looking good mate. Far more attention to detail than my effort. Need to upload an update!
Hi. Graham. That is not just a standard layout as you called it, that is a work of art and craftsmanship. You are too modest!!. Cheers
Hello Graham,
Wow!! what a fantastic job with the village & cycle track!! As always, you are knocking it out the park. The cycle path looks superb, very realistic! All the detailing with the building lights, the gate at the end of the path, the cracks on the road etc, it is all those little things that add character and realism to the scene. Really looking forward to the next upate.
Cheers for now,
Derek
All I can say Graham is wow. Bloody outstanding.
Dave Hornby Blimey, thank you Dave, really appreciate that mate, thank you! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ..........Graham
Beautiful.
You are an amazing model railway builder.
Many thanks from all of us. 👌❤️
Steve
Very nice. Love the small touches.
Andrew Grabon Thank you very much Andrew, it’s the little details which I think adds to the overall look of the scene. Cheers for now mate. .............Graham
Absolutely brilliant Graham, love it!!!! Regards Bill in Oz
Bill Richardson Thank you very much Bill and your comment is greatly appreciated sir. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Great video my friend
Thanks for sharing ✌
fanbloodytastic ...your layout is superb...love that citroen ds in the car park....your work is truly wonderful to see graham..each time i say this but roll on the next update ...cheers..
skyfall 23 That’s really kind of you to say my friend - thank you! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. .......... Graham
Tell ya what Graham... you've done a cracking job with the cycle path... it looks flipping brilliant when they are riding round. Good Job!
Alan Barker Thank you Alan for the kind comment Alan, it’s a real joy to model this too. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Absolutely incredible engineering artistry! I am in awe.
Wow Graham it looks amazing - well done and look forward to seeing more. Kevin
Awesome update Graham!! The village is stunning. Cheers Onno.
Onno Mulder Many thanks Onno and I’m really pleased that you enjoyed it. Cheers for now buddy. ...........Graham
Oh wow the cycles are so cool looking going on the layout. You are so good at building your layout and having fun doing it. Have great week
Dwight Kerley Many thanks Dwight, I’m having a ball building this layout up, I get so much enjoyment from it - both in the building and the running of it. Cheers for now buddy. ............Graham
Nice work Graham, love the cyclists! Excellent idea running through the bush track. Stay safe
The layout is looking good, love the bicycles. To be honest did not see the light from under the houses till you pointed it out, great work have fun
Graham, your scenic cycle path is a hit, brilliant.
Barry.Devon
Castlebridge OB owner. Many thanks Barry and I’m pleased that you like the cycle path, hopefully it will look a bit better once totally finished. Cheers for now. ..........Graham
Graham the village really is coming on and i have enjoyed this clip....each clip you produce always keeps me fixed to the screen ..keep well keep safe till the next clip ....
PAUL POWER Hi Paul and thanks for the kind comment my friend, it’s greatly appreciated as always. Cheers for now. ............Graham
Graham as far as I'm concerned you have an excellent detailed layout and the village looks great. Always inspirational seeing the details you add.
Leslie Gilpin That’s very kind of you to say Leslie, I really appreciate that my friend - thank you. Cheers for now. ...........Graham
The bikes are superb love the path around the back of the houses
kevintregunna Many thanks Kevin, it’s all a bit of fun as well as creating a bit of movement on the layout too. Cheers for now buddy. ..........Graham
Excellent, love the cycles, keep up the good work....
👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
first class work my friend, your doing a fantastic job.all credit to you..well done.
LZDEN Thank you so much for that kind comment, that’s really appreciated - thank you. Cheers for now mate. .............Graham
(The layout is now 63 years old and about due for some changes.)
So the reason for my comment, though not forgivable, is my entire layout is built upon a collection of Second Hand Kitchen Cabinets which are 36" (91.44cm) cubed.
As Robin/Puck concludes:
Gentles, do not reprehend.
If you pardon, we will mend.
And, as I am an honest Puck,
If we have unearnèd luck
Now to ’scape the serpent’s tongue,
We will make amends ere long.
Else the Puck a liar call.
So good night unto you all.
Give me your hands if we be friends,
And Robin shall restore amends.
~Jim
The village scene looks great. You do a wonderful job on adding details and making sure everything is just as it should be. Stay well. -Wil 👍
I could watch the bikes over and over great video buddy looking forward to the update
Newbottle Station Thank you my friend, those bikes really are captivating and like you, I can watch them for ages! 👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ..........Graham
Graham Foulston there hypnotic graham 🚲
Keep up the good work
Speedy Bricks What a fabulous comment, thank you sir, it’s greatly appreciated as always. Cheers for now mate. .........Graham
Graham that's looks bloody amazing mate brilliant I have decided not to take my layout up but yours coming along nicely
It's all coming together nicely Graham .
GLENRIDD NZMOPAR Thank you Glenn and I’m happy with the way it’s going.
This is so brilliant!! the detail is incredible. This is far best that I have seen so far. Love it love it!!
Graham, inspiring - congratulations!
Dennis Oleary Thank you Dennis and much appreciated. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
Graham what a great bit of modeling. People should stop knocking you. Think what you have made is brilliant.
Gary (Co Durham).
Gary Mennell Many thanks Gary and really pleased that you like it so far. 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ........... Graham
DAVID EDWARDS Absolutely David, I couldn’t agree more with you. 👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ..........Graham
Looks amazing really good stuff , you’ve done it all so quick
Amery Junction Thank you very much mate, I feel as if Ive been slow to be honest but the main thing is it’s gradually getting there and I’m very happy with what I’ve done so far, it’s coming on. Cheers for now mate. ............Graham
Graham Foulston slow !!!!! Nothing near that at all , your like a speed boat or a jet ski . So fast . My magnarail I put down 6 months ago , on one of my layouts . I still haven’t wired it up , to scared incase it derailed the chain and all fell off lol 😂
Amery Junction 😂😂😂
Cracking job! I'm surprised how much you have done to this scene already.
GWR Fan 281 Thank you and yes, this has come on a long way since I first started it a month or so ago, I’m really happy with it so far but obviously a lot more to do to it yet but all in good time, there’s no rush. Cheers for now mate. ..........Graham
One word - brilliant! Euan
The Growler - Blackwood N Gauge Layout Many thanks Euan, that’s really made me happy - thank you sir! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. ...........Graham
