Justin was my coach in 1987 and 1988. He was always looked up to by all of our squad, was kind and inspiring. We never saw a glimpse of anything less than a man who helped others. I will never forget him
@@MrThedonhead Justin was an incredible leader and example to all of us. Very positive in every way. Nome of us would have ever expected the issues which came at a later time in his life. He was truly a great guy
Worst thing that happened, was that Saints couldn't afford to sign him. They were a good team in the early '80's. Could have revolutionised his career.
Sad end to his life. Praying for his soul. Heres my story about Justin. Shortly before his death in the USA he played in the New Zealand soccer league and I saw him play in an exhibition game in Mount Maunganui. Many of us had turned up to see him but he was clearly past his best. There was one part just in front of us where he made a tackle and we all cheered ironically. Justin turned to us and made a comical gesture shaking his fist in mock triumph. It was really funny. A little while later I heard he had passed and was really sad to hear it. I always remember that moment in the game as you saw he had a good heart. I hope he is with Jesus now, I am sure he is.
@@FullTimeFootballNImay i second that..brilliantly put together...such a sad ending to a gifted man who felt he had in the end no one else to turn to.. hope he found peace
Wish his family did a better job supporting him. I know times were different then, and people didn’t understand sexuality, but they acted like that one part of his life defined him. He was their brother or son, and his sexuality was just one part of his life. I can’t believe his family just completely stopped talking to him after he came out. I think if his story happened today he would have received much more support and understanding. I wish things had gone better for him ❤ RIP to a legend
I feel for Justin. The mentality that 'where you put your bits' defines who you are needs to change. Cloughie was wrong to treat Justin the way he did.
I used to go cycling with him from 1984 to 1985 When iwas 19 I first met him Because she had a puncture and I fixed it for him He said he was cycling to recover from an injury I used to meet him up Woodborough road in Nottingham He had a bike that said Shimano on it Much better than my crappy bike😂 I moved to Kent I wish I had stayed in Nottingham and carried on cycling with him😢 You couldn't meet a nicer person 😎
Rest in peace to him he was a 1 off who many wont forget so sad he died all alone having a pending case in the usa... He was not the same at forest tho...
I always was given the impression that he killed himself because the press were horrible to him for being gay not because he assaulted someone and dodnt want to go to prison
Not to justify any of Justin's homosexuality, but u can't tell me that one of those SICK & DERANGED counselors at that orphanage [that Justin & Jonn Fashanu stayed @] don't sexual abuse Justin.
A version of this without the banal incessant bgmusic would be a great documentary to be proud of making. Having recorded perfectly fine narration, why ruin it with anything more than a dash of music?
I personally felt that the tone of each piece of music went well with each particular part of the documentary in which it used and that helped to add some substance to the piece. Plus it prevented there from being heavy gaps of silence throughout, except for the only part where music isn't used, which speaks for itself. I appreciate you taking the time to give your feedback, though. I do appreciate it.

No way! Thats amazing, man. Must have been some experience training with him.

Did he keep himself to himself or was really flamboyant like Graham Norton?

This young man was so intelligent! And he spoke so fluidly and clearly. He was definitely a very talented athlete. Rest in peace Justin!
To those too young to have seen him play, believe me Justin was a great player. He had speed, strength and a great touch.

He didn't pass, he killed himself!
What an inspirational man. Sad that he lived in an era of prejudice.
AAAAAAAAaaaaalbion.
this should have more views excellently made, rest in peace Justin 🙏
Why “should” it have more views? Other than a propaganda and virtue signal what is this video doing because most of us know about this stuff
Thanks for sharing this tragic story - really well made and should have a lot more views!
Thank you, mate! Really appreciate that.

No African parents will never maybe online but not parents
If discrimination against Blacks werent bad, add being gay at that time, his life must have been constant turmoil
