This movie was a (somewhat confusing) masterpiece when I first watched it, and it's exactly like I remembered it. It's defiantly one of my favorite movies of all time and is certainly the best movie in the entire fanchise
Thats what I felt too when watching it (I might have seen it as a toddler but this was was the first time watching it and remembered watching it. I don't care what people say this was fun!)
R.I.P. Britt Allcroft, please spread some love and heartfelt condolences to her family. She discovered Thomas the Tank Engine in a series of 1940s children's books by the Rev. Wilbert Awdry and thought Ringo Starr would make a great Mr. Conductor on television.
@@michaelgonzalez1042 Yeah. On Shining Time Station. That was only for one season. For the rest of the series, he was replaced by the late George Carlin, the first Thomas and Friends American narrator.

Still my one of my favorite characters she is why I love Thomas and Friends. Toby, Terrance, Lady, and Gordon have always been my favorites since I was a little kid.
I had (still have, I think) Magic Railroad on VHS. Well, I had, and watched, a lot of Thomas on VHS (DVDs are alien space magic). I still have pretty much all of them. Little did my preteen self know he was watching an all time classic. I didn't really understand the coal thing when I was young but when I grew up and got into reading about the World Wars, I came to love how Awdry used the fact that Welsh coal is actually a good, clean burning coal and can be told apart from others using the shade of the smoke. I read that you could usually tell if it was a German or British warship by it. Germany had (and has, 6th largest reserve in the world) a lot of coal but in wartime conditions, a lot of it was low quality and/or very dirty when burned.
Unfortunately, it wouldn't happen because according to model maker Chris Lloyd in his interview with SiF, the reason why Lady was only featured in a dream sequence in Calling All Engines! and was not meant to be seen again in the series was because in the show's continuity, Lady is not real. This could imply that Thomas and the Magic Railroad isn’t canon to the show.
I don't, the Magic element of TATMR was a big reason why it was a box office fail, and why the general public viewed Thomas as nothing more but another stupid kid show because the trains spoke from magic...
When a new engine that never appeared in the show before or after this movie (Calling All Engines doesn't count) gets more screen time than the character who's name is in the goddamn title.
I'm 17 and the first time I watched this was when I was around 9 and it was at a learning center where I finished all my work and I had the option between thomas or Pinocchio and of course I chose thomas I still have my wooden train lady and my thomas collection upstairs in the attic I will always love thomas no matter how old I get that's a promise 🚂
It would've been nice for Lady to have more appearances in the show itself and not just be exclusive to the Magic Railroad. She's such a beautiful character. Like Molly, Lady was hardly ever used afterwards, and that bums me out.

She was always my favorite growing up, i dont have my old thomas stuff anymore EXCEPT for the 2 lady trains i have, sad she was really only in this movie
The chase scene between Lady and Diesel 10 was the best part of the movie. You feel scared for Lady as you see terror on her face as she runs away from Diesel 10's Claw with close-up shots of her wheels rotating at high speeds to outrun him. There's just something about close-up shots of train wheels spinning at high speeds that gives you that rush of adrenaline and excitement.
Thomas must have had quite the dream. Think about, the only way to have TATMR canon, is by saying that the whole movie took place at night at the sheds, and the plot is actually Thomas having a uh long dream.

She should’ve been brought back as a luxury engine in the main series IMO, she didn’t need to necessarily be associated with magic
