- This is the list of the main possible flicker sources and how I do to detect flicker to make sure I can start shooting stop motion animation flicker free.
Natural light, Shadow play and bounced light, light flicker, screen spill, voltage fluctuations, auto settings, aperture flicker.

Do you also hate flicker?
Oh you know I do.
Excellent video!
@@LumakenStudio haha I knew it! Thanks
Indeed
This is the only excuse I need to buy more black shirts :) Great info!

The time-lapse check was a great idea. Many thanks!
I don’t do any SM but I enjoy your videos anyway 👍🏼 Very nice of you to share your experience 😃
Super handy! Thank you edu puertas! Definitely always worth it to take test shots and check them out before filming a whole video - I've made that mistake before lol 🤪
I did the mistake as well many times, seams easy check and fix, but...
So complete tutorial and detail 👍👍👍
Another fantastic video, my friend! This is another reason my old manual-aperture Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4 lens is my favorite for animation, because I KNOW the camera isn't doing anything to it, since it contains no electronics. :) The camera stays in manual, with a locked WB and shutter, and I adjust aperture at the lens. You're right about that SLOW shutter speed (which I combat the overexposure with a low ISO or VND filter) fixing some of the flicker issues. Very thorough video! I like your work!
Ordered a rig from kinetic armatures sunday night cant wait till it arrives!!!!!!!!!
holyyy mate this is a lifesaver, thanks so much. I had my fstop wayyy too high this is incredible tip, fixed everything straight away
Thank you very much for your videos. I recently discovered your RUclips account and work.
I’v always been fascinated with the ball and socket joint, and how I can design and improve it in my own workshop. I don’t do stop motion work, however I became fascinated with the ball and socket joint after several years of having my own small machine shop. And I found many needs for a precision ball and socket arm and clamp system. So I designed and made several iterations for myself and other professionals.
Not sure if you’ve considered it, but there are several profitable markets for your products and designs.
Photography mounting and clamping is a huge, market.... and high-end ball and socket joints would be very sought after.
But the biggest industries that have yet to be tapped, are precision metalworking and jewelers communities.
I’ve made several ball and socket arms and clamp systems, for friends and clients who are professional jewelers, machinist, electronics engineers, and metal fabricators. I did this as favors, because they saw my system and how are you guys in my workshop and they couldn’t find anywhere to purchase something like it.
I know there are nice and precision bases and mounting systems for dial indicators and other machinist tools… But they fall short of what is needed in other areas.
If you look at the GRS brand of “helping hands“it’s several hundred dollars .... $300 I believe…and it’s nowhere near as nice as your products. I purchased the entire system from GRS to go along with their engraving tools and vices I have. And I was not impressed with their ball and socket joints. Especially for $300.
If you offered a high-quality helping hands for jewelers, electronic engineers, and service technicians to use as a soldering base and for placing precision work… I think your sales would explode!
Also people who do precision fabrication… To have ball and socket arms that are longer and heavy duty which would easily mount to extruded aluminum so that it is completely modular and can be moved around into any configuration. I know people who would pay big money for that stuff if it was on the market.
You may not be interested in expanding to other markets, but your quality of work and attention to detail are top notch! And there are voids in the market to be filled! I think GRS has proved that.
Lo ame, sin el parpadeo que se ocasiona hace que las animaciones se vean muchisimo mas profesionales y muchas veces son simples razones como reemplazar un foco o linterna
Thank you. I once got flicker when shooting very shiny moving objects. Lighting was stable as well as manual camera settings.
sometimes i hard to know where it comes from
Thanks for putting this out.
your information help a lot thank you so much
Multi skills great job .. mi amigo
Gracias por los consejos, Edu
You are just a genius person !!!!!!!
Very educational, I learned a lot. Thank you for sharing!
great!
Fantastic channel so informative. Thank You very much. Thanks to you I am considering doing stop motion animation in lego form.
Lego is so fun, I am happy you are doing it
@@edupuertasfruns Thank You. You are my inspiration:)
Excelente! Muchas gracias por el esfuerzo!!!
The best tutorial about flicker, ever
Gracias maestro, he intentado sintetizar
@@edupuertasfruns Me queda grande ese título, pero ten por seguro que voy a recomendar este video a todo el que busque consejo
Very good channel and tips.
Thanks
Cómo Siempre , Todo un maestro en el Tema, Saludos Edu. 🖐️📸
Excelentes recomendaciones
that's really helpful !!! Thank you.
thanks for the sweet video :)
Great job!!!
Thank you so much for your advices !! Turning off the auto white balance in dragon frame will save my life forever. I didn't know about that.
Yes!! Do it you will see the difference 😉

So good🤗
So cool
Hey, a million thanks for these helpful and inspiring videos. I have dreamt of doing this for years but am going to make it a reality soon.
Great, I am sure you will
Stop motion? It doesn’t much besides a phone and a object
@@dragunmotion2608 yeah I just need to clear a little area and get to work. I have a lot of ideas that are way ahead of my knowledge level right now
@@rocket-explosion4431 if you don’t mind me asking what type of ideas? And what are you planning to use when you anime legos puppets or figures?
@@dragunmotion2608 I've been watching a lot of videos on building dioramas and a few fantasy type landscapes, I keep having ideas like that but with crystals all kind of different patterns etc in the back cause I'm good at drawing abstract patterns. To build the puppets i don't know yet. I haven't watched these videos in a while so I'll get back to you about it.
To help me shoot in the day I would put garbage bags over my windows plus my curtains to avoid the sunlight coming in
Yeah, sounds good idea to me. When I was there it was an AirBnb, I couldn't tape things into the window, but you do the right thing.
Dude thanks
Thanks for your amazing work, I am learning so much from your channel! Can you please clarify for the white balance, I should have it set to color temperature?
Yes, It is the option I like to use
@@edupuertasfruns excellent thanks, I'll try this option next time. Also the black out screen option in dragonframe is new to me as well 👍🏻 I followed you recently on Instagram, my acct is so.plantiful 😊
Maybe a way to fix flicker could to be completely battery operated - lights, camera, laptop - that way fluctuations from external electrical sources or voltage drops would be eliminated.
Good
Perhaps the software engineers at Dragonframe could come up with a way to keep the lighting consistent over however many frames are selected. If you like the lighting in a particular frame then with a couple of clicks you could apply that lighting over an entire scene and eliminate the flicker.
Please Ocean how can you make a stop motion video? No on RUclips, I wonder how it is done.
Still have no idea how to turn white balance of on my eos 1100D
The easiest is to select the type of light you use, fluorescent for example
