I am so saddened by what happened! I would be devastated if this happened to MY grandson! I just have a hard time reconciling the fact that the entire family KNEW that the area had been “disintegrating” for an entire year before the accident- yet Jack decided to head down the trail to the base of the “crumbling” waterfall anyways. WHY? Instead of just taking pictures from the top, and enjoying the scenery below? And blaming ANYONE for what Mother Nature has done, despite the obvious loss of a person that should never have happened, was an accident. Nobody to blame for his decision to knowingly put his life in danger, unfortunately. The DNR does not have an unlimited number of employees to daily go out and inspect every inch of ground at every single state park in Minnesota. Since the family KNEW that that exact spot had been disintegrating for that long, did they take pictures and bring it to the attention of DNR officials when they first discovered it? Only if they did, and the DNR completely ignored that fact and did NOTHING, would they be responsible if anything like this happened. This is absolutely heart-breaking, of course!
May the family find a twinkle of pride in their soul for the good their son/brother did for countless individuals in his short life. He completed his mission. God needs strong Spirits at hand to help in the prep of the final days & second coming.
shouldnt the area have been blocked off? you can clearly see signs its starting to collapse in the first photo with visible debris, seems like they should have had a barrier with a warning sign
His young life changed the future for so many. How incredible. What a tragic loss... My deepest sympathy to the family.
