I know I already said this on Reddit, but I think you should delay the movement of the Jaeger in comparison to the pilot's own movements, I think it adds a level of realism that was also in the movie
It's hard to see when things are moving quickly, but there is actually a delay already there - if you watch just after the 0:15 mark, there's a moment when the pilot arms move up and you can see that the Jaeger arms are delayed clearly. If you're after an even bigger delay, you'll need to talk to the developer about that (I didn't make the game, just made the video using the game)!
The dev told me he's tried to get interest from bigger companies to help fund the game, but sadly nobody took him up on it. Meta won't even approve it for an App Lab release! Madness.
Nice to meet you, developer! Everyone loves this game you know, what are the chances of you picking it up again? By the way, I tried impaling him on the Eiffel Tower in this other video, but didn't quite have the skill: ruclips.net/video/pqGNpwNg2QI/видео.html
@@BallsyVR I've thought about it a few times since its the most popular video series on my personal account. I'm currently working on a new game, Punchimals which is a 2D physics based mech fighter I'm thinking about continuing Kaiju Battle Simulator down the line if I'm able to secure funding for the project. The main reason I did not continue the project is due to the sheer scope of asset and programming requirements, including tech art / VFX for destructable buildings and dismemberment effects as well as custom animations. This demo is cobbled together in such a way that it functions sort of OK but expanding it would require considerable time and effort and outside expert skills VR projects are also notoriously bad return on investment due to the small/niche audience and there are also performance issues to consider when scaling things up from the grey box prototype to a finished product. My vision for the project would be to create a series of much more responsive and challenging Kaiju encounters. I wanted to have weak point and an armored hide that would require players to cut into and tear off hardened bone-like segments to destroy the core (think of the progressive-knife in Evangelion). I also wanted custom animations and a much more agile, physics-based system, while not compromising the way the player is able to fight or the scale and weightyness of the interactions. I'm also sad that I wasn't able to bring the idea to fruition in the way I had originally envisioned. It really does require a fully staffed team and upwards of a million or more in funding to bring it to market. If you know a publisher willing to take that risk on a 2-3 year development timeline, then I'd love to hear back from them :) PS: The trick with the tower is to hold the kaiju with one hand and climb the tower with the other (you can just grab the tower and pull yourself up)
Took a look at your Punchimals game just now, looks really nice! The graphics are gorgeous, especially the glass on the helmets with the animals inside. Thank you for all the inside information regarding just what is needed to make a substantial VR game, it's a lot more than I realised! I love your ideas for enhancing Kaiju Battle Simulator, sounds like a dream come true for fans of this genre! Regarding investors, maybe you could try releasing Kaiju Battle Simulator as-is on App Lab or Side Quest to get more attention? There are a lot of people missing out on your game because they don't know how/don't want to manually sideload an APK, so putting it in one of those platforms (ideally App Lab) would get it lots of attention and maybe some financial interest too! Oh, and thank you for the explanation of how to impale him on the tower, I'll give that a try!
You need to download the SideQuest app to your phone from the Play Store, or download the SideQuest app to your PC (from there you can install an in-headset version, makes things a lot easier).
You need to install SideQuest first, just use the internet browser in your headset and go to sidequestvr.com, then install the app from there. After it has installed, you go to the Unknown Sources section of your library, open SideQuest, and then search and download Kaiju Battle Simulator from there
You can pay money if you like, but it's not necessary, you can just click 'No thanks, take me to the download' and get the game for free. Whether you donate or get it free, it's the same game. Hope that helps!
5:34 He like "Yeh... I'm out brah" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah that made me laugh, never seen the kaiju do that before 😂
When you hit, a crater is made on kaiju body, good!
4:53 DAMN brutal lol
Rendered him 'armless
UPDATE: Now available on Side Quest for easy installation!! sidequestvr.com/app/3307/kaiju-battle-simulator
Nice video! The music was good, well-timed too.
Thank you!
Enjoyed this a lot, watched all of it! I like all your videos but variety like this is nice, more please! 👹🤖

It's a Quest 2/3 game, it may work on Quest 1, haven't checked
Make the buildings destructible
I could've sworn they broke when you threw a Kaiju at them...or do they just fall over? I forget...
Can add Gojira? Is good, I sub scribe wwww
Thank you! Sorry, I didn't make the game, I only made this video, so I can't add anything. I hope the developer is reading these comments though!
It be funnier if all the blows were bit*h-Slaps.
Perhaps I could do a b*tch-slap version at a later date 😂
