12:15 I know it should open the quick settings, but Super+S prior to Gnome 45 opens the overview. I've used this accelerator for some time now as I've disabled that behaviour for the Super key on its own. I prefer a combination of keys for those kinds of actions in case of accidental input. I guess Tumbleweed hasn't implemented the new shortcuts. Also, Supper+A takes you straight to the app grid.
Works already well on Gentoo. Only my extensions don't work anymore :( Where we have my biggest annoyance with gnome: JavaScript But well, what can I do Anyways, you don't "click" on them at all. That's just a VM thing and really, really annoying that they don't support hot corners.
When will KDE make the scrollbar overlay like Gnome? A hard scrollbar is terrible in 2023. (Same complaint about Chrome/Chromium, but that would be off-topic).
But this is solved by an option in the system settings. In both macOS and Gnome, users who need a hard scrollbar can enable it with a single switcher. No accessibility issues 🙃
It would be wonderful if overlay scrollbars were back. Especially because the KDE developers have even gone so far to create overlay scrollbars for Firefox, and they are still there. Edit, I think it might be a Manjaro KDE thing in Firefox
@@W4nn3 In fact, it was the Firefox developers themselves who enabled the overlay scrollbar from GTK for Linux. The KDE developers just didn't change it (and nobody changes the scrollbars in browsers that they make at their discretion).
If you're going to try something at least give it a fair shake on bare metal. Actually run it. I don't care how it works in your crappy virtual machine.
@danielhalachev4714 I am interested more in keeping up with what's going on. I've been running the same Window Manager since 1998 myself. I personally think all of the DEs are trash today. I do like to know precisely what kind of trash they are though. The last DEs worth anything were Gnome 2.6 and KDE 3.5 Yes I've tried later versions. Total garbage!
I love the idea of watching you do reaction videos but this was painful to watch. 1. Please use a faster machine to do the reaction 2. Always keep the videos under 17 minutes. 15 is best and 17 min i'm going to really debate myself if I want to spend that time. 3. Keep reaction short and concise. Show the object then short comment, show next item then concise comment. We know you are stalling because your machine was too slow Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying this sucked and I don't want to watch your videos. I'm saying the oposite. I love you , your personality and your choice of content and I want to see the video that I KNOW you ARE capable of with these simple quick fixes. Looking forward to MORE reaction videos. I love this theme of content. Please improve! Best of luck to you!
Oh, the LinkedIn shortcut. I may have to give up with Gnome and to switch to KDE so I could enjoy my daily dose of soullessness
LinkedIn is becoming a bigger virus than Windows.
I just recently switched to GNOME 46 to KDE 6 and i really like it great job!

Did you run this in standalone qemu and forgot to enable KVM virtualization (thus emulating an x86 CPU in software)? Because that's how slow it looks
probably, yeah
You should ask for donations in order to buy a new laptop so that you can do heavier work and supply potential virtual machines with more resources.

That's a GNOME issue rather than a Gentoo issue
@@grxgghxrpxr the extensions? Sure. Wasn't it clear from my comment?

2:20 Just tell the users it's called Dynamic Tylenol. They will understand.
I don't know where to ask, but i want to ask.
Is calligra office anda Amarok no longer maintained?
What is up with the performance of your VM?
gnome boxes is made by gnome and therefore thinks it is better than you
lol
Congrats on the Gnome devs re-implementing desktop switching and branding it "Indicators".
I thought the same thing - task bar workspace switcher redux
Does anyone have information about a KDE Neon based on Debian 12 instead of Ubuntu...in the spirit of LMDE?
It would be good if they did that.
Please tell me the LinkedIn shortcut thing is a joke
OpenSUSE Tumbleweed got ot just 2 Days after Gnome 45 was released.
Keep in mind when you take a look at Gnome 46 😉

Never. We used to have scroolbar ovarlay, and we moved away from them for accessibility.

I've been watching videos about new icons and design...
I really hope that KDE developers will not use GNOME as UI/UX guideline, because I really hate GNOME UX.

Plasma 6 beta when?
Not impressed with Gnome and from what i see. I'm very happy with KDE!

Why 17 minutes?
Wow pretty broken setup you got there
Opensuse standard boring default apps...
Applications are tools, boring or exiting doesn't really factor in to it.
Gnome is the champion of ugly icons.😂😂
