This was such a beautiful conversation! ❤
I am a writer and for the longest time I have struggled with wanting to complete projects that incorporate ideas that just don't meet my real life morals. I know where I am headed with the story and my intentions, but I am in my early 20s and dread looking back and cringing or having readers I want to inspire be inspired in a negative direction.
I know this is not what this video is about, but hearing your views on books as parents has helped me feel wayyy more comfortable trusting my own discernment.
    Thank you. ❤❤❤

Thank you for sharing your thoughts to continue this conversation! You offer a very interesting perspective here as the writer of books. Your heart to write books that will inspire people with good ideas is beautiful. Charlotte Mason felt that it was important to inspire people with good ideas and a great way to do that is by reading literature containing these ideas presented in a living way. Thank you for striving to be an author that will contribute positively to the literature that we can confidently recommend to our children. They will have to develop that discernment and use that skill as they get older, however it is so wonderful to have an author who is adding to the pile of beautiful literature that they can read!

The more I learn about Charlotte Mason, the more I realize that my mom was a Charlotte Mason mom and didn’t know it. 😂

    Hello.
Is there a podcast for encouraging a child to read? My 7yr old is starting to sound out words. She is just now showing interest in reading.
And yet it seems like there is no interest. If there's too many letters, she doesn't want to sound out the words.
    For me, it's frustrating.
I would like to encourage her where she is.
    Thank you.

Hi, Thank you for reaching out with your question! Here is a link to a helpful post on determining the child's current skill level in reading and what they may be ready for! If she is feeling overwhelmed and frustrated perhaps the chosen resources are too difficult for her and she would be more confident and successful at a lower level of practice for right now. As you said, meet her where she is!

You will see linked there the resources that SCM recommends for teaching reading. This will include the "Delightful Reading" kits which are available at three different levels as well as the "Pathway Readers." Please reach out with any additional questions you may have about these resources.
Here is a post specific to those early years of learning to read for your encouragement.
