The thing that gets me is that there's an actual sound reason why he chose to eat bugs and he still got humbled by that. To be fair though, it also makes sense that pikmin eat honey because they're flower creatures
I mean yeah they eat nectar which can be akin to the honey he used to glue the cricket's legs, but in a way they do eat bugs because they feed enemy corpses to the onion.

What’s also funny about this situation is that had Nintendo been upfront about the nectar mechanic, he probably could have replaced his “Pikmin food” with a glass of egg yolk mixed with honey to be more accurate to the game.

in pikmin 3 if you throw charlie at the plasma wraith 3 times and then put your switch in the dock upside down while closing your fridge door the plasma wraith will turn into this guy and eat everyone in the game. you cannot turn off your tv. he eats every creature in the game. then he wins a gamecube in the end credits so thats kinda cool
