    People don’t want to admit it, but he’s right. The entire Twitter “boycott” is a non-issue for like 95% of the player base. The people who are trying to boycott are a very small minority of the player base. Unless you get China players involved, none of it matters. I saw a petition or change to get a signature for GI, again, they don’t care.

      100%, CN don't care & I'm convinced majority of the non-Twitter western/global audience don't care either
      Realistically, they aren't going to make changes such as updating skin color (& potentially negatively affecting CN revenue) for the sake of a vocal Western minority.

      Funy fact is the ppl that said to be the "race" that get racisted are less than 0.2% of players and they dont really care actually. The ppl on twitter who complainted about it don't even play the game leave alone pay for it, not even 0.01%

      And it never be optimised for mobile coz UE4. This engine is pure garbage when it comes to open-world games. They barely playable even on consoles.
      When it comes to gacha-games, you made the game for the mobile FIRST and then scale it up for PC and Consoles. Not the other way around. WuWa was cooked the moment they chose UE4.

      ​@@NakedSnake1010 Is it that bad for consoles? A lot of ppl are waiting for PS5 WuWa cuz they think this will fix most of the problems WuWa has in terms of combat/gameplay. If they messed up with PS5 I don't think they can recover from that.
      PS. I know it's not gonna kill WuWa but it's still a significant amount of players. They need this because, from the looks of their downloads on mobile, they aint getting any new players.

      @@aloureluxe4174 It was VERY bad for the PS4 and just bad for PS5.
      UE4 is a great engine for cinematic games, shooters, fighting games etc. But when it comes to big open world games this is horrendous.
      I'm pretty sure that PS5 version will be more than playable coz WuWa is not really that visually impressive. But for mobile UE4 is too much and the only way it can be fixed is simply wait a couple of years for the newer and more powerful devices.
      P.S. PS5 is not a significant amount of players. PS4 is. 70% of the PlayStation audience is still on PS4. And if they really want a big chunk they should also release WuWa there. But they are simply incapable of optimising the game for that weak of a system.
      They really shouldn't have fired their lead UE4 specialist just before release 🤡

    I think Fob's reasoning as to why the boycott didn't work is too simplistic and dismissive like "that's because that's the culture." That makes us and our "culture" seem so shallow. The reason the boycott did not work is because they're making an issue out of nothing. Natlan is fictional. It's inspired by real-world regions, but that's it. And no, it's not white-washing either. That term is used for alterations to history or existimg original work that pander to white people. Why? Because creators have the right to dictate the skin color of their own characters. Hoyoverse did not alter history nor someone else's original work.

      @@kgutz9450 comparing game quality is subjective in gacha bro. Let be real, gacha games are pretty ass compare to other types of games. Love and Deepspace is great for female players and HSR which doesnt have any "real" combat system are in top tier because they target their market perfectly
      And all companies care about high revenue, especially companies that make GACHA games

    Yep I’m picking the one that is best to me and the gacha is saturated. I like auto with the time being limited as it’s not possible to play these open world games and it’s not enjoyable now and that frame wonk needs to change for most working ppl that can spend on the game

    The numbers of GI and HSR are not indicative of the success of the character that run during the introduction of ZZZ. As you noticed the revenue that Hoyo made in June was the same as in July!!! They didn’t increased their player base. It’s just that players of GI and HSR spend more on ZZZ and that’s it. 😅

      GI and HSR had dead patches, that's why it was the same. If it wasn't for that it would have been much higher. Keep in mind that Penacony and Fontaine were the best received updates in both games and before that there were plenty of months both games only made as much they did in July or less. It's not like people would have spent more on HSR and GI dead patches if ZZZ wasn't around.

Hoyoverse costumers have a fixed amount of spendable income and once they get a new Hoyoverse game they’ll spend it over these 3 games, if they happen to play them all. Also it’s the patch before Natlan and Emilie wasn’t included in the statistics so no wonder Genshin is low. Most players save for the Archon patch as usual.

      Higher revenue means a lot of people paying for it > they like something about the game > the devs doing something right > the game is somewhat good for those people. Now explain why you don't think so.

    This revenue… Hoyoverse did about 170 million with only GI and HSR in June. And the same money in July, but this time *THREE* games!!! 😅😂😂 the numbers are screwed because of ZZZ’s release. It will go down to third place after GI, HSR and Love and Deepspace. 😅😂😂

      GI and HSR didn't have any characters that people wanted to pull for, without ZZZ hoyo would have made less than half of what they did in june.

A company/shop/ can only increase their range of products to increase their sales for a certain amount, afterwards the contribution of what costumers by might change, but not the money they spend, because costumers only have the same spendable income to use on this. With ZZZ Hoyo didn’t necessarily stepped into a new market, probably already loyal Hoyoverse players started playing it and therefore, if you can only spend like 100 bugs on games every month you have to decide where to spend it. Btw the same happened to GI once HSR came out. Hoyoverse didn’t made more money, only their revenue or sales was now contributed over these 2 games. 🤷🏽‍♀️😩

You just said that Hoyo didn't actually bring in any new customers for either Star Rail or ZZZ but that the already existing fanbase is simply spitting their spendings between the three games when each one came out so the company isn't actually making more money. Are you seeing the problem here?
      HSR and ZZZ contrary to what you believe did bring in a new audience to both games with plenty interested in only one of the games, is there overlap sure plenty play 2 or 3 games that Hoyo own but there are still plenty who only play one. There have been plenty who have expressed interest in only ZZZ, or were only interested in Star Rail, or Genshin.
      Each game is designed to target a completely different audience demographic which brings in different players.
      Now let's look at the argument that that Star Rail and ZZZ didn't bring in more money to the company and only only split it between them.
      Let's look at sales from sensor tower now, since it only goes back to Dec 2022 that's where I'll start.
      Genshin: 68, 63, 67, 47, 48, 34, 32, 32, 32, 39, 39, 53, 31, 99, 93, 68, 120, 53, 68, 37
      Star Rail which released at Genshins 48 In April 2023: 20, 81, 58, 41, 49, 40, 45, 19, 28, 48, 93, 144, 109, 91, 96, 40
      Now let's line them up.

      Are the months that both games were only only making about what Genshin was making by itself before Star Rail sure, however there were plenty where adding Star Rail actually greatly increased the amount of money they brought in.
      New game means new fans as well as a new source of income, that's just how the world works.
