The HSR devs have talked about the "Trails of" series being one of the main inspiration for HSR, they even did an interview with them. You can see it from the turn order UI to being able to ult any time to the break mechanic, it's so much more similar to Trails of compared to Persona my god.

Here is the thing. In the very early betas WuWa actually had a completely different UI that look futuristic, kind of like how division or division 2 does it. But they probably had to change it later because it didn't feel practical to change units, look at echoes or upgrade and what not and returned back to the 'wheel' that worked for everybody.

exploration mechanics in natlan after wuwa is pretty obvious, yes they didn't copy it but it is so obvious it's a fact, the devs wanted to lock players behind stamina bars but when they saw wuwa exploration loved by people they tried changing things with exploration and stuff. THIS IS AWESOME BTW finally don't have to climb mountains for hours in genshin and with natlan it was needed to be honest, the map's just so big. people were right about both games improving off of each other, good to see

What has annoyed me about this "debate" is that it shouldn't be one. Wuthering Waves absolutely lifts heavily from Genshin. In the same way Genshin lifted a lot from BOTW, though in Wuwa's case I would say it's even more heavy handed due to them sharing the same genre and market space. There should be no arguments over this. Wuwa has an almost identical wishing system, UI layout, (some) similar characters, but the main thing is just the overall design and progression of the game. It was similar enough to where I almost immediately understood what echo stats characters needed in Wuwa because they were so similar to the artifact stats in Genshin. I mean, the electric element is literally called "Electro" in both games. Here's the thing though, none of that matters. Wuwa does lift a lot from Genshin, some things it does better, some things it does worse. What matters is if the game itself is good, and in my opinion it absolutely is. It can be true that Kuro took a lot from Genshin, and it can be true that Wuwa is still a good game.

I think it is stupid to compare genshin and botw just cuz there is no botw on PC or Mobile or PS or XBOX Hoyo gave people this type of game for those who dont have Switch console While if people want compare wuwa and genshin then yes wuwa has 90% of similarities cuz them sharing the same platforms And it is stupid to saying it is not copy. Games are art. If you have 90% of the same concepts then you made a copy. It is like drawing an art of existing art but change it by 10% dude just make your own from scratch. There is unlimited possibilities in games

Hard disagree on 15:08 . I'd like to compare it with some of those things that are two in one. The downside of those things is that one funtion is gonna be better than the other. Its rare to have both functions actually perfect Same goes for WuWa and PGR. PGR has probably gonna have a better combat (personally) because fhats the main main focus of the game. While WuWa also has World exploration stuff.

I don't think you can compare the difference between genshin and botw with the difference between wuwa and genshin. It may not be a 1:1 copy, but wuwa is really similar to genshin, from UI, to game structure, end game loop, to even the target audience, and even if other gachas or other games have done all the things genshin has, genshin was the main game to do them all together

Frankly, genshin is the only open world gacha game at that time period when wuwa is in development so it is the only thing that they can take as inspiration. Granted, they can make more innovations and make it more distinct right down the gate but I guess they are playing it safe which has its pros and cons But I have trust in Kuro to make more changes to make it more different down the line
