    Apart from some names of functions and shortcut keys, doing this in blender would be basically the same.

    • @Wolf-4D
      @Wolf-4D  4 года назад

      Yes, I agree. As far as modelling is concerned, a lot of functions can be translated from one application to another, provided you know the sofware that you're working with.

    1:55 How do you which mode? What's the shortcut you used and thanks for the video.

    • @Wolf-4D
      @Wolf-4D  3 года назад +1

      If you are in one of the three component modes (polygons, edges, points), you can cycle through those modes by hitting the tab key. However, I have custom shortcuts mapped to these modes because I don't want to have to hit the tab key repeatedly to get to a specific mode. The hotkeys I am using are as follows: TAB+TAB = model mode; TAB+Q = polygon mode; TAB+W = edge mode; TAB+E = point mode.

      @@Wolf-4D Hello Wolf thank you for the reply. How do I go about setting up those shortcuts? I'm new to c4d would you be able to make a short video talking about your workflow for modelling?

    • @Wolf-4D
      @Wolf-4D  3 года назад

      @@Sykophantic Go to "Windows - Customize commands". Search for the tool/command you want to assign a shortcut to. When you found it, enter your desired shortcut and hit "Assign".
      As for your other question, I'm afraid you're not going to be happy with my answer. My tutorials are not for people who are new to C4D. Any advice I give you will likely lead only to more questions. My workflow depends on the task at hand, and you can see what my workflow is when watching my videos. There is no single answer to that question. Please understand that, while I'm happy to help, I cannot provide constant support for individuals.
      If you are that new to C4D, I would strongly advise you to buy one of the many available structured courses introducing Cinema 4D to beginners. Take it slow and give yourself time to learn the basics of the software. You will do yourself a big favor in the long run. I know it takes a lot of patience and time, and getting to a point where you are actually comfortable with working with any 3D application is one of the hardest parts of learning it. Whether or not you are successful will depend a lot on how you go about learning. You should be prepared to invest some money in professional training as it will help you to learn much faster. Maybe you shouldn't start with assigning shortcuts, but learning where to find all the tools and commands you need. Over time, you will develop your own workflows. Maybe you like to work with shortcuts, maybe you'll like to work with customized layouts etc. Everybody is different, and there's no right or wrong or one way to do things. You'll have to find out for yourself what works best for you.
