I'm watching this on a sunny Saturday afternoon here in Texas and it brings back memories of my early Christian walk became that's when I found these guy's. Back in 98 I stopped listening to non Christian music (something i needed tondonfor a season) and the Christian punk scene was pretty terrible compared to the non Christian scene as far as style goes but little by little good bands started popping up. I found slick shoes (ep before I was a Christian) , Value Pac, MXPX, Craig's Brother and many other but it only lasted till about 2001/02 and then it died 😶. Good cover by the way 👊👍
Thanks a lot for sharing that dude, out of all those Tooth N Nail bands from the 90's I think Slick Shoes and MxPx were basically the best IMO. The Juliana Theory was also a favorite of mine but they were more EMO tho.
It’s so great to hear a band so skilled like slick shoes who have lyrics that point to the One who made Heaven and earth and offers the free gift of salvation through trust in Jesus as the payment for our sin.
I love early Saves The Day specially Trough Being Cool, not gonna lie but I have that song already on my list of favorite songs to cover so yeah, it will be up on the channel soon my man. Thank you.
Great cover. Grew up in a Christian household, my mom was strict about music she'd buy me and thankfully Tooth & Nail had tons of stuff at our local Family Christian Bookstore, ha. Listened to Slick Shoes a lot in 7th and 8th grade. Great melodies.
Fantastic as always my bro! And you are correct; Jackson was easily one of the best punk rock guitar players of era. It is not overt technical, like you hear in alot of Strung out stuff or Propaghandi, but that is the beauty of it; you learn some Slick Shoes riffs and always go,"Wow...what a cool little lick/riff/progression. Why didn't I think of that!" Lol
@@90sPunkRockCovers i've never seen or heard a conversation on how tight and intricate of a band Slick Shoes is/was. This cover was amazing so thank you for that. IMO Burnout is one of the greatest musically put together punk rocks albums I've had the pleasure of enjoying. Jackson's guitar playing was great on these songs but give it to Nixon on the incredible drumming on these albums as well.
You know that's a band I never really heard much growing up, I knew of them because of other bands in Tooth N' Nail Records but for some reason never got the chance to hear much. I'll take a listen and see what I can do. Thanks a lot for the comment and request.

One if their best songs🤘🏻 it sounds like a song that would play during the credits of a teen movie🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Haha never thought of that, but yeah that song rocks.
Long live SS. Love their new live album.

Glad you like them man! And yes, SS rule!
Those first verse chords are literally the most beautiful sounds I ever heard, bro if you could hook me up with them that’d be so clutch.
Thanks dude, I gotta revisit the song and see what notes/chords they are.
