    These kind of matches show what Emma is capable of, you don't win a slam without dropping a set by accident, Covid or not. She can access a level of play above the other British women but of course the question is how often can she do that? I personally think her level in the next few years will settle somewhere in the 10-30 ranking but it will depend on her fitness, her mental strength and her coaching development all of which still have question marks, but she is still very young. Whether she will ever win another slam is another question though. Multiple slam winners are actually very thin on the ground. They are a special breed.

      @@ANDY1985UK2011 , I agree with you in the aspect that it isn't easy to win majors.
      I also agree and see @hertor8803, point. His main point is fitness. If she's fit she can put a great fight. But also he mention something that people don't want to see. Despite, she being technically and tactically well sounded, she never will achieve that top position that some people are currently placing her.
      We might be wrong. However there something that says she's not a top player caliber. A good one. Of course she is.

      An indicator of the caliber of a player it can be seen by the amount of 1000's and 500's or 250's tournaments won.
      Majors are difficult of course. But the others trophies are better indicators of consistency. This is what says a player can win more or less Majors.

    Seem like Garcia on the receiving end of many, making comeback. You have to imagine. It was or is gonna take time for Radacanu find and redefine the player, who win US Open, as qualifier. It add a lot if she in the running, week in and week out. Course. Garcia at top form, also a huge boon. I just wondering about Radacanu think she win match at 5-1. She a different type of player, mentally. That might be how she have winning psychology. If a person can 'forget' and they taking on someone, who always remember, nerves always favor former.

    I've subscribed and really appreciate these highlights. But, a few words of advice: Most of the viewers are probably present or former competitive tennis players or serious fans. What we want to know is how a match was won or lost. We don't need to see the longest points, or the flashiest/trick shots. If you only have a few minutes of highlights per match, then please just show the successful break points and the last four points of a tie-breaker (if any). If there is a deciding-set tie breaker, then just show that in entirety and skip the previous content. Thanks again.

    Haters call her overrated. Obviously she struggled with success, fame, expectations and also injuries. But the talent and potential has always been there. Her forehand can be the best in female tennis. Her returns the same. Footwork is still mediocre and serve inconsistant. If she keeps improving these parts, she will be a top 10 player for years. And probably win big tournaments.

      @@jukkao.parviainen8669this point bears repeating again and again; it is not often we see someone with this kind of raw talent become so successful so fast. The ten matches she won to take the US Open title more than doubled the number of matches she'd previously played on the professional tour. It's not unusual for a player to drop form after their first slam but the way she did it, plus her lack of tour experience, plus her international marketability... most players adjust to the tour away from the spotlight, because they've done nothing to warrant any attention. Ups and downs, injuries and setbacks are unremarkable, expectations are low, and this is the norm of all players, except Raducanu. Instead for her, expectations are permanently high, disappointments are taken personally by the fans and anti-fans all of whom are none the wiser about what she has actually been working through. I am super impressed by this young woman.

      @@ReTracer Well, Naomi Osaka as more experienced couldn’t handle the pressure of being #1. I just hope that Emma will work hard and get back on the track. Pure talent can’t get you to the top10. She needs wins under her belt and a proper coaching staff for the longer term.

    • @danharrow7458
      @danharrow7458 Месяц назад +3

      @@ReTracer Agree one hundred percent. It could be said her winning the US Open was a poisoned chalice. She has served no tennis apprenticeship, by way of the tour. In fact what I expected to happen after she played Wimbledon prior to winning the US Open was that she'd get knocked out. Then continue her tennis learning under the radar. That didn't happen and to every ones surprise, including probably her own, she won it. So as you say everything she does is magnified, wins and losses, especially the losses. All she can do is try to lay that tennis foundation that she missed before she won the US Open and of course stay fit. Sounds crazy right? But I hope she can pull it off. She is a joy to watch and the sport is richer when she's playing great tennis.
