Agree 100% with the conclusion of the video. One of the main reasons I chose to go with the Santa Fe (USA model) was because we felt we were getting better performance and features for the price than the Sorento. Even though the styling of the Sorento was more appealing.
What's up my Korean brother! Merry Christmas to you and your family. I just bought a used Hyundai Santa Fe last month. And I love it. It is the 2018 Santa Fe ultimate with a turbo.
We just picked up our 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe SEL with 2.5L engine. We Love it. We’ve had the Explorer, FJ Cruiser, a KIA Sorento, and now the Hyundai. The Hyundai is by far the best of all. We test drove the Mitsubishi Outlander which was pretty in a jewel like way but the Hyundai is tops. My hats off to the Koreans at Hyundai on bringing a well mannered yet affordable luxury SUV to the masses. Ole Gearhead.
Currently still own a 2017 Santa Fe Sport. Still very happy with it and plan to stick with it for many more years. cant wait to see what Kia and Hyundai does in the future.
I believe that the Hyundai is more towards global design while Sorento is going for a more US design but overall in my opinion the Hyundai is the one to go because it is more ergonomic, it doesn't have the glossy black and it is a little bit faster. It will be very interesting if Hyundai will come with a fresh new badge design.
I really enjoyed the competition video, and was surprised that the Hyundai came out on top more often than not. In my neck of the woods, there are no Santa Fe's to be had - they have already been scooped up.
Both Santa Fe & Sorento are great vehicles ! Sorento has amber/orange rear turn signal intergrated into regular taillight assembly, Santa Fe rear turn signal down low and red - win for Sorento as more visible & safer rear turn signal placement ! Prefer Sorento interior over Santa Fe. Both exteriors are good. Much would depend on how they drive ... Both will continue to do well in marketplace ! Slainte' ! Cheers !

While you describe the 2022 Santa Fe as just a “facelift” there were far too many changes, including dramatic interior changes, that make it feel like a new model over the 2019/2020 models.
I've only seen like two of these Sorento's on the road. They no longer offer the the drivers side thigh extender, hood struts, and other features offered in previous top trims.
I choose the Hyundai Santa Fe over the Kia Sorento. Their both are pretty much identical but what made me went with Hyundai was Hyundai offers a really good warranty and features for a fair price.
Well I enjoyed the video. It was very nice and quiet. I actually traded my Kona N for a quiet ride and technology. I bought the Hyundai Santa Fe plug-in hybrid.
I test drove a Kia Sorento PHEV and liked it, yet I found the seats a bit hard and didn't care for the black gloss dash and mostly touch buttons. I may wait for the Sante Fe which to me looks better inside and outside and has plenty of push buttons and knobs!.
They are both beautiful SUVs. Kia Seronto I love that gear shift. Whereas the Hyundai Santa Fe the exterior body is very well designed. I am choosing 🤔🤔🤔 Hyundai Santa Fe.

Great Review, Charlie and congrats for getting close to 200K subscribers! Yes, you can, but like I told you there isn't any EV button for Santa Fe and Sorento, so the car will choose when to go EV and it works even on highway driving situation, too.
I like the interior of the Kia Sorento much more. Especially the two tone steering wheel make a huge difference. The ventilation in the dashboard of the Santa Fe is identical to the one from the previous model and is outright ugly in my opinion. However, it still would be a tough decision between the two because the Hyundai seems to be the better car overall. And it's incredible how both cars go with only a 1.6L engine and how seamless the transition between gasoline and electric propulsion is. Impressive pieces of technology both makes.
Hyundai has typically gone the route of making their vehicles with a luxury feel and KIA does sporty. From these 2, I would choose the Santa Fe as it has a quieter cabin and the look isn’t that bad. I would go plug-in hybrid though.
Just FYI: Santa Fe diesel is no longer available in EU (at least in Poland). I'm waiting for my Sorento 2.2D, it should arrive at the end of November (ordered on beg. of February)
I like both but I prefer the KIA looks both interior and exterior. Hey Charlie can you find out what is going on with factory delays over there in KIA? I ordered my Sorento 9 months ago and still waiting. They still did not manufacture it because of microchip supply issues :(

In the US Santa Fe doesn't come with 3rd row. I drove both hybrid Sorento and hybrid Santa Fe. I found that massive center console to be very intrusive into the driver's space. I am 6'1" 240 lbs and I greatly enjoyed the test drive in the Sorento, while I felt cramped in the Santa Fe, my knees had no where to go. The acceleration on the Sorento was better but may be because it had more miles and possibly was more broken in. I also think the Sorento is MUCH more attractive, and I found myself admiring it everytime I walked up to it, where as with the Santa Fe it just felt like walking up to a plain car.
it's annoying because i much prefer the Santa Fe interior and the Sorento exterior. would it be too difficult for them to make one like that? i assume they're in the same factory.
I just don’t get why the US doesn’t have the Hybrid calligraphy Santa Fe. Highest Hybrid we get is the Limited, which is missing some of my favorite features.
Great review really enjoyed it. A bit disappointing that Kia rolled out the Sorento without airbags for the 3rd row seats, also missing wireless charging for the infotainment system, missing USB-C ports in 2022! Any idea when the N3 platform will receive a facelift? Thanks for this comparison :-)

Based on this video i think Kia have dropped the ball here. The Sorento sure ‘looks’ a much better car in my opinion both inside and out and is more fitting to future proofed styling. I would buy neither of these - Hyundai because it is drab to look at and the interior is dated and plain and Sorento is missing obvious luxuries that are expected of its generation and price point against competition here in the UK.
Other than the highest trim luxury vehicles, the rear door sunshades are manual. You guys in the UK must have a different vehicle. I’ve seen videos comparing KIA vehicle to Audi, BMW and Mercedes but in the US, they are compared to Toyota and Honda and those typically don’t have rear sunshades.
