Looks like a ton of fun. I am wanting to add on my MES but will likely do it in the AirCam in Florida. Later, I want to get some time in other twin seaplanes. The Beech would be fun, but so would the Grumman Amphibs.
What an amazing video, and great quality picture too. Add in the fantastic autumn colors and you got a work of art here. Would love to see more of this bird
got a lot of hours working them in navy. 61/65. pilots used them to maintain flight time whenbthey were at war college newport RI. i was at Quonset pt RI naval air station
If the rear door opens upwards, and 2 tile-cutter type sliding poles join top-bottom of door, inner of poles is workshop step ladder, rotate steps by opening of legs type, = how to pull ladder out and lower and hook to floor and float spring rubber stopper on pier.? = put handle bar to avoid steel cable cut throat price.?
Could you fly can you land the plane Anna on the runway because some water planes could land on the water but can this plane land on the runway if no but if no just don’t see it in a while but yes say it in a blog
No, they don't. If they did, I'd own one. I flew a Beech 18 on floats for 3 years, and it was easily my favorite airplane of the 40 or so types I've flown. I need amphibs because I live on an airport, and not on a lake. I had to settle for my 185, which is a great airplane, too, but it's no Beech. For amphib float aircraft, I biggest I can think of is the DHC-6 Twin Otter. There were quite a few big aircraft on straight floats and of course, some large flying boats that were also amphibious.
@@Hgdhgfdssxvbbnjoo Yeah, thanks for stating the obvious. I never said it was smaller. Amphib floats are available for the Twin Otter; they're not for the Beech-18.
Barely if ever do they exist. The multi engine seaplane is almost obsolete. It's better to a commercial single engine seaplane, commercial glider, sport gyroplane add on, and your tailwheel training in which a multi engine seaplane adds up to the upfront cost of a commercial single seaplane, commercial glider, sport gyroplane, tailwheel, spin, complex, and high performance training together. 8-15 grand upfront for a multi engine sea rating which can buy you a used car upfront.
woooww She is a real beauty with a mean bossy voice....lol. MN my home sweet home. Thank for sharing this.
The prettiest beech 18 I've seen online

I was lucky to fly Beech 18 for a couple of years logging 1200 hours and 5 jugs later.

Absolutely true.
Expensive, there, glad I could help answer that for you
Hey, was that compartment on the rear of the right float forgotten open?
No, its actually a step that's welded on top of the float to help access the cabin.
That’s what I thought as well when I first watched the video. Then I watched again and realized what it was. I’m glad it fooled others as well. 😎
I was wondering about that also.
But.
Will it maintain altitude with one feathered?
That exact same plane is,I’m coeur d Alene now
it's a splendor
way cool
Whoops on that OPEN aft float compartment. Lucky they didn’t swamp the float. Pass the check-ride??
look closely
@@richardbarry943 Look closely at what?
Its a step for entry. Fixed position.
I'm in love....🧡
For good reason! It is a beautiful airplane!
Technology for dc3... To fly scenic route with barber-chair.

This is approved for travel during emergencies. Owner proven smart enough.
0:40 you got that right. it's a cream puff.

I've never seen amphibs on a plane this big. Do they exist? Anyone?

@@OneTequilaTwoTequila There is C-47 is on a set of amphib floats, of course its the only one of its kind left. Thats biggest one I know of.
@@OneTequilaTwoTequila ummm a twin otter is bigger than a beech 18

Float Plane .
Multi engine seaplane rating is horrendously expensive.
