FYI - oral low dose minoxidil can be very helpful for androgenic alopecia. However caution if you have low blood pressure.
Also I have crazy hair growth using The Ordinary Hair peptides. Talk about some bad hair days with new growth standing straight up 😳 If you can get through that, my pony tail is twice the thickness 18 months later (18 months because it took time for the new hair to reach pony tail length)
And I so appreciate you making a point about investigating underlying conditions 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

My hair started thinning big time following an extremely stressfull time in my life. Consequently, I myself researched the net & decided to experiment with a hair oil called litttleextra coocoonion & a comb made of neem wood. The results truly made a difference. Now, my hair is lengthy, dense, dark hair which has reached my waist and cut off three times since I began using it. Simple & good. Additionally, just as effective is massaging your scalp - it encourages hair growth. You only must do this once a week. Pretty soon, you'll see short hairs growing in.

Hi Penny, just wanted to mention an ophthalmologist on The Budget Dermatologist channel said the hypochlorous product is great for spraying eye makeup brushes to prevent eye infections and that it can be sprayed on a cotton round and wipe the eyelashes and lids to kill bacteria and it helps with styes. I love Tower28’s SOS rescue spray with Hypochlorous acid, but did you know apparently you’re not supposed to apply that before VitC products!? I had no idea! I guess the H acid deactivates the VitC? Here’s what it says on the Tower28 site:
Can I use SOS Spray with skincare actives like vitamin C?
If you're using an active like vitamin C as part of your skincare routine, we recommend using SOS Spray BEFORE any actives (allowing it to dry down fully first). The hero ingredient in SOS Spray (hypochlorous acid) is super fast acting and once it dries down it won't interact with any of your other skincare products (including actives like vitamin C!)
That sounds doable, but initially I heard to wait 15 min after spraying H acid to apply the VitC, that’s just too long for me, plus I prefer to apply all skincare to dampened skin, so I’ve just decided to switch using the Tower28 to evenings when I don’t use VitC, and I use my Niod spray in the am. Hope this helps anyone else out there dousing their faces with it right before applying their fave VitC product!

Of course everyone is different but I’m a fan of Calecim. Can’t wait to see your comparison 😊

    @carimawebb9498 11 месяцев назад

Oh wow Penn, you do not know how long I’ve waited for you to update your hair loss information! (About as long as an update on dermarolling 😉. Just sayin 😁). But seriously, I’ve been fighting stress induced hair loss which caused over 1/3 of my hair to fall out all over w/about 1/2 falling out on the right side at the worst pt. This was overlapped immediately w/what might be menopausal hair loss along the hairline of my forehead & temples. Thyroid medication, which I started w/in 6-9 months of becoming increasingly alarmed by my hair’s texture change & incredible shedding, really began to reverse the overall hair loss leaving just my hairline & temples still in need of help. About a yr into the thyroid treatment I picked up information re: hair loss treatments involving adding saw palmetto, CoQ10, hyaluronic acid & collagen supplementation along w/massaging my scalp w/an Ayurvedic hair & scalp oil. I think all of these have helped. Although it’s taken a couple years, I am seeing new hair growth & a small empty space above my right temple is filling in. However, my hairline’s still not quite where it was before all the stress & menopause, & the new hair growth at both of my temples is still rather thin. I’m 2 months into taking Nutrafol after hearing really positive feedback. Looking forward for your video re: what you are now trying now & the results. Crossing my fingers for all of us struggling w/this issue.

@@ILucky7753191 I use the 82, every other day, for 90 seconds. You move it to 3different sections of your head for 30 seconds each time. I usually do it on freshly shampooed hair but if I haven’t washed I just do it anyway. I don’t think it hurts to do it that way. I have no cons. None. Since the 82 is so quick I can toss it on while I brush my teeth. I can’t remember the price but I was feeling so bad about my thinning hair that I thought the investment would be worth it. I have only used it while I’m using the minoxidil so I don’t know for sure how each would work alone. I usually max first and then apply minoxidil right afterwards to keep the hair band clean. Thanks Penn! I would be super interested in your thoughts on haircare tools like Laduro and the expensive lasers like hairmax laser ban. My hair is in pretty good shape but have noticed it is a little brittle, more prone to breakage and less shiny as a enter peri menopause.

Wow this video is serendipitous right now! I literally just received my order of Calecim yesterday and I’ve been scared to try it because of some reviews on other videos that said it made their hair loss worse.
Will you be using the Calecim at all, or just the minoxidil with stamping? I’ve been scared to try that as well as I’ve read it can give you darker under eyes, eye bags, a swollen face and faster aging. Not sure if any of that is real or not.
I’m curious to see how your journey goes 🙏🏻 I will be following this very closely, hope for an update soon!

I or ordered the hypo chlorous spray from Base Labs on Amazon and I see that it’s marketed as a healing spray for wounds and piercing aftercare and I guess my question is- is there a difference in the actual acid in the different brands that is making one more expensive than others?

Thank you Penny. Just FYI regarding your hairloss. Get your iron levels checked. Last year after a lot of stress (hubby in ICU on life support for 2 weeks an 4 surgeries later) I was losing hair and I was iron deficient. Plus stress can cause anemia! Go figure 🤔. Had derm. Apt, but decided against Minoxidil as once you start, you have to take forever. Otherwise your hair will fall out again. So check with your dermatologist on this. Also up your biotin and collagen which can help. Take care.

In regards to your comment about the size of the Jones Road product and the fact that it would go bad before you use it up, I feel so many makeup products have the same issue. I wish the cosmetic companies. It keeps me from buying / trying sooooo many items because I realize I know I won’t use it all. I think if companies offered smaller sizes we , the public might buy and try more of their products.

Penny I love this video. A lot for me to think of. I’m wondering if you have recommendations for body skin moisturizer. I love the water moisturizer and a lot of drmtlgy products. I’ve used their body lotion which has the lactic acid so I get it has the exfoliating effect but doesn’t do enough for moisturizing, like the water cream which I use for my face. I’m asking if you know what might be moisturizing and help with crapey skin. Thanks

I saw the Calecim product for hair and passed out at the cost. I can't justify that to my hubby...lol I can justify a lot, but not that. I bought the little vial of Calecim and I asked my husband if it was a joke when it arrived. It's so tiny! I wasn't expecting such an itsy bitsy bottle for $100.
The haircare I was referring to is by DS Laboratories. I use the Revita shampoo and conditioner, and then 2x a day, I spritz in Sprectral.DNC-N only at my temples. It's a 5% nanoxidil product for men. I didn't know it was for men...hahaa It was an add-an. I think it's working! My paternal grandma had see through hair. I know they claim it's supposed to come from the mom's side, remembering that grandma's hair....🤷‍♀️

Re: Hair loss I have a few questions:
    1. Why aren’t you using your Dr Pen pen for the “stamping” on your scalp?
    2. How do you sterilize your scalp before stamping it?
    3. How much did you research minoxidil? I’ve heard once you start it, you are stuck using it because once you stop, you will go back to losing your hair.
    Thanks!

The manual stamp is a lot more efficient. It has a much bigger surface area and also I don’t have to toss a cartridge every time I needle.
I wash my scalp 2 times before I stamp and I use isopropyl alcohol 70 to disinfect the stamper. I could use an alcohol swab on my scalp first- but I don’t.
I have researched minoxidil a ton (next week I share a lot of that research in a video dedicated to this) and yes, I anticipate having to use minoxidil in some way in an ongoing basis (I am researching the sweet spot for maintenance- I think I’ll be able to use it less frequently that I’m using it now). All this said, this is why I emphasized that anyone wanting to try minoxidil needs to do their research because it isn’t for everyone. 😊
I will say though, the Calecim system also states that there is maintenance with that one as well so it appears that regardless of the product there is continued use required 💙
