You hit my thoughts on both of these weaoons on the head. A buff to 125 or 126 would make this thing viable as it directly competes with the mosin. Even if they made this a 1 slot weapon the uppercut outclasses it due to damage. If it's two slot then it competes with the mosin obrez instead which would still have a reason to exist with it's faster reload and cheaper price to both the uppercut and the uppermat(still want haymaker)
Tip if you're taking this with the normal lemat, you can slug directly into fanning if you spam the ammo swap button. Idk if this is a bug since it just allows you to swap to fanning faster without the weird delay.
Thank you! I’ve gotten dirty looks from saying I prefer the LeMat Carbine over the Drilling. Less recoil, faster fire rate, and of course accuracy. Add FMJ and Slugs and it’s a machine. The UpperMat though, I only use it with a Sniper loadout. With Poison and Slugs it’s a true contender. Thanks for all the amazing content! I was excited when I seen your video pop up! 😃
I wish I was good with the Lematt Carbine. Something about the irons just makes it impossible for me to be accurate with it... :(. Thats why I'm so much more of a fan of the Drilling because it has CLEAN sights!
Maybe You can go Uppermat + utility Bow or smth. With slugs this gun can be run as an effective main gun. But it's expensive of course. Or maybe replace Uppermat with Uppercut if you have quartermaster to have a long ammo + Shotgun loadout with added shotgun ammo pool.
indecisive about adding short range or long range maybe is exactly what they intended. More hybrid weapons. Depends on your perspective half full or half empty.
I think people dislike the LeMatt Carbine because they psychologically expect the shotgun to be close to Romero specs. So they'll save it as a backup after they whiff their short ammo shots, and then lose to someone using a full shotgun. The Drilling isn't a Romero, but it IS closer, and you have 2 medium ammo shots to lead with. So more often than not, people die to the Drilling shotgun because they just got hit/bleeding by medium ammo.
@peebnute True enough, especially with the ridiculous price tag Crytek gave it. But like I said, it's all psychology. People BELIEVE that a 3 shot rifle is superior to a 10-shot rifle, through their own inability to aim.
The biggest problem with the lemat carbine is how bad the shotgun on it. The spread is terrible and the reload takes longer then the drilling reload. And on top of that the shotgun is considered a medium barrel so it is outshined by many other guns.
I think uppermat is close to the best weapon for midrange fights with no traits. Its fire rate and great recoil reset (you basically dont have to move your aim at all after each shot) means you can just keep pelting people with body and limb shots til they eventually fall. If you play it kinda like a centinial it feels really strong, or at least this was my experience. The shotgun is terrible though, even with slugs
Honestly I've really been enjoying the uppermat. Is it cheap? No. Is it practical? Not really. Is it satisfying getting that headshot **crunch** through a metal wall? Absoloutely! I enjoy running this with the Rival handcannon for both the extra ammo pool and for a secondary to use at mid ranges and for wallbangs. Haven't really needed to use the underbarrel shotgun of the uppermat, but didn't really plan on using it anyways. Arguments can probably be made for other more reliable weapons, but it hasnt let me down yet. Plus I love running round telling people I have the biggest iron on my hip lmao. As for the drilling though.... as much as I dislike saying this because I was super hyped for it... I really *really* dont like it. I think its something about the sights, I just cannot hit my shots with that thing, and the underbarrel is pretty much a glorified Romero (I hate the Romero, it always fails me).
You are breaking my heart by saying that UpperMat is bad. I play it only with slugs so the shotgun is much better than buckshot and I can kinda relay on it fighting in buildings. I still dont like the price and its taking 2 slots :( The shotgun magazine in UpperMat is so small, I dont understand why they don't give even 1 more shell over 1 slot LeMat... But I like how it covers medium range fights, rate of fire is nice, damage is not bad, slug range is enought. As a 2 slot weapon is kinda good but if they make it 1 slot it would be soooo niceee. Now im curious about Uppercut precision. It will complete the niche. Uppermat has sway but close range capabilities, Uppercut precision will have small sway making it better on long range fights. All looks on its place for me.

If the Lemat Carbine's shotgun gets buffed to be on par with the Drilling, I would run it a ton more often.

I recommend using the drilling with the Spitfire. Then you just have a lot of fire rate while not being Auto. LeMat is just fine.

I will admit, Lemat Carbine needs slugs, but at only 65 Hunt Dollars extra it's not much of an investment

If medium ammo’s dmg drop off was a bit better and the price for the drilling wasn’t 500 something hunt dollars it would feel a lot better to use.

Every time i have used the Lamatt shell its gotten me killed or almost killed. I just pretend it doesn't exist now
