- Cinematographer Krystian Winszewski took a break from filming his documentary “GT40 - The Road to Spa” to help ARRI shoot an ALEXA 265 reel that explores the ways this tiny camera, with its huge sensor, expands the possibilities of 65 mm filmmaking.
“As a filmmaker with a deep passion for both cinematography and classic racing cars, combining these two loves on set was truly a dream come true. Having the opportunity to film three Ford GT40s on the track using the ARRI ALEXA 265 was one of the most exciting and memorable experiences in my career. The 65 mm sensor produces images that are nothing short of spectacular. The level of detail, texture, and richness in the footage is amazing.” - DP Krystian Winszewski
On a Steadicam, a drone, a U-Crane camera vehicle, a car rig, and even handheld inside the cramped cockpit of a Ford GT40, Krystian captured dynamic images of these historic cars on a beautiful autumn day in the UK.
"GT40" was shot with custom ARRI Rental 65 mm anamorphic lenses.

Thank you to everyone at ARRI Rental who contributed towards this shoot.
I JUST GOT AN ARRI ALEXA XT ITS SO BEAUTIFUL I AM SO HAPPY I LOVE EVERYONE AT ARRI AMAZING ENGINEERS FOR THE BEST CAMERA IN THE WORLD 😖😖🦋🦋
This video is a prime examples of skill vs talent
Could you elaborate?
@ The crew behind this video was clearly working with a large budget and the best gear in the industry crafted a technically solid piece(skill). We see small crews produce arguably, much more engaging content with a fraction of the resources(talent).
@@dennvision Thank you. I agree. There are some things that can't be bought
Incredible work!
omg so nice i love it !
Crazy, absolut stunning!
I've worked with many cameras since the 1990s, But since my days on the BL-3 and the SR-2, all the way to digital, ARRI has always been #1.
Glad to have had you along on the journey!
Excited to be filming my next action film with this! Imagine the low-light scenes involving fire and snow? It's gonna look crazy good!
In low light… The Sony FX three will look just as good. I know you don’t believe me… But you’ll see.
Rather have the raptor X with 20 stops of dynamic range
@@2424rocket hahahahahahahhahhahahahahahahhahahhahahahhahahahahahhhhahhahahahahha
@@2424rocketcan’t wait
Nice to see ARRI considered a Drone shot. Looking forward to seeing the camera in hand.
This is what I was looking for!
dope!!!
damn, I know what I want for christmas
So good 🤩
Now that’s a camera demo!
Das sieht wirklich unglaublich gut aus 💪
Hell yeah🔥🗣😎
One of the biggest features of the 65 camera is its wide-angle depth of field.
Beautiful. The larger sensor is always amazing.
Can I use it for vlogging camera?
WoW😲
Now that's Cinematic
awesome
Sheesh... Leave some for us... 😄
Is it for global sales or only exclusive to Arri rental ?!!!
In the middle, it will be available to rental houses and productions at this time
Hi there, the ALEXA 265 is available as a rental-only camera to both individual productions and rental houses.
is that Eboladrome ?
Is it good for vlogging?
Can everyone who sees this drop a link to their film/shortfilm/visual content or IMDB here? Would love to watch new content and connect with new people!
Also if anyone works with this camera soon then let us know!!
Hey... What are the lenses used?
Hi there - GT40 was shot with custom anamorphic lenses from ARRI Rental.
@@ARRIChannel thank you! Are these 2x Anamorphic?
They were 1.3x anamorphics, requiring a slight sensor crop.
I would like to test it in Senegal in Dakar. We are almost excluded from new things.
alexa 265
Hi there, please reach out to ARRI Rental at www.arrirental.com/en/about/contact
nice one .... sadly its letterboxed and not full native 2.35:1
Mediocre. Considering ~1 mil worth of gear and crew.
Damn, apparently not everything shot with the Alexa 65 is worth sharing with the public. This looks like it couldve been shot on an fx3
You are so correct.
You are so correct.
Hahaha good one…NOT!
Was about to say that.
Edit: I've reds and arris so I can say that XD
Meanwhile I’m doing the same with my Osmo Pocket 3 and Movmax Blade for 1/9737815th the cost 😂
Link?
Anyone need a kidney? I need an ALexa65 lol
Mediocre shooting at best… And terrible editing. What gives?
Would you mind sharing some ideas? What would you have done better or differently?
@@kunstspielklavier185 come on man. This video is plain amature.
@@aleshkovalev Why not elaborate? What is it that you don‘t like and why? Calling things „mediocre“ or „amateur“ doesn’t take much effort. What is it exactly that could have been done better? Maybe ask why they did what they did.
Some comments say the people involved in these promo videos suck. What is up with all the disrespect? You don‘t have to like it, you don‘t have to be impressed or wowed, but if you want to criticise, why not try and do it constructively?
None of the new promo videos spoke to me on a personal level. Some grading or editing choices I might not agree with.
But if you want to make statements outside of personal preference you should not have a problem backing them up with some concrete analysis.
@kunstspielklavier185 well mate, i'm from Russia. Here we don`t need to be polite or care about somebody's feelings.
So. Related to this video. I have no time or wish to analyze it. Not time for making a long list of suggestions. Main criterion for me - whatever i liked video or not. This video i do not. Because it`s mediocre and amateur. Peace.
@@aleshkovalev I don’t care where you are from and I don‘t need do be polite to you either. I choose to be.
To each their own. As I said you don‘t have to like it.
Why waste time posting your feelings on this video?
This is cool and all, but just think about it. Half a million dollar production, for a 2.5min video that made a few thousand views on youtube. With the cinematic quality that a FX30 can achieve. How on earth do these productions get green-lit when they know they are throwing hundreds of thousands of dollars in the dirt? Who buys Arri products? No one. This gear is 100% rented for any production. So what does this video actually do? I'm sure the production was fun for everyone, and they all got paid well, but was it half a million dollars of fun? What is the purpose of this video? No one will see this video, no one will remember it, so what was the purpose????
No one can buy the 265 nor the 65. Its rental only. All they need is one feature film DP (That can differentiate this and an FX30) that sees this video and interested in just testing it then they will recoup the cost from just rentals.
The purpose of the video is really not to sell cameras. It’s to demonstrate the wide variety of use-cases and rigging this camera can fit into. Drone, pursuit vehicle, rigged inside tight spaces, trinity. DPs that usually have access to these kinds of tools would love to know that a small form factor 65mm A cam can be used in so many different ways.
For the same reason you made a very long comment - for getting attention
You really talk a lot of nonsense.
@@blizzard18ja and he probably has a used sony.

En plus ces bagnoles sont lourdes et bruyantes dans le mauvais sens du terme : complètement décalés les pappis !
Yt devient vraiment un foutoir pour branleurs qui ne savent pas quoi faire...
My komodo x shits on this arri even my fx3 lol arri stop.
Out of curiosity:
Have you ever shot with an Alexa?
So great picture, action and color grade. ❤ A nice proof of the new little 65mm Alexa 265. So cool to get this sensor in the Mini-format.
Would be great if it's also to buy. Why only rental? ... Arri 65mm on a drone! 🤯
