    Those AMS memory chips are a sore point - they were cheap junk and do tend to die!

    nice repair,, i have one that has the same problem but will need some magnification and good luck before even trying it .. i notice there was some ghosting on the screen when using that RGB cable, this will be the blanking signal voltage being to low as R44 is fitted with 1K resistor from factory

    • @MoreFunMakingIt
      @MoreFunMakingIt  Год назад +1

      Good shout on the ghosting. New TV. I'll look into that if it keeps being a problem.

    Ooo that was nice bit of fun! Good watch! Is this a common fault with speccy +2a's then?

    • @MoreFunMakingIt
      @MoreFunMakingIt  Год назад +1

      I can honestly say that every single +2a I have repaired has had this fault. 100% of them 😋😆
      I can see it being an area of weakness with the chip hanging in that hole. It must flex those legs with every vibration and eventually the solder will crack.

    Someone needs to write a chess game called Queeg Chess Battle, for the good old Speccy. You play as a senile old AI called Holly. Queeg is a sadistic AI who does nasty things like make you work for a living, so you've challenged him to a game of chess, where the winner gets deleted. Admittedly there wouldn't be a lot of replay value, because, well either you would be deleted after the first game or Queeg would. At least if you win, you could do the Red Dwarf shuffle in celebration though, lol.

    • @juddery

      @@MoreFunMakingIt Same here, but unlike the Queeg chess game idea, at least the majority of the Red Dwarf series have a lot of replay value. 😁

    hey nice video, any ideas on an issue I have with a speccy +2A/B it plays many games fine but some which are compatible with +2A like Magicland Dizzy do not play and just crash after starting the game. I suspect RAM may be an issue so Ive ordered some new RAM chips to try. Any ideas what it could be? thanks

    • @MoreFunMakingIt
      @MoreFunMakingIt  15 дней назад

      Might be worth loading some diagnostic software to test the ram first.
