That fur collar may never have gone to any (one) specific coat, if we're talking Victorian or Edwardian you would just sew it on with tack stitches to which ever coat/cloak/bodice you wanted to dress up for the season. Vintage fur, even a detached collar like this, is always desirable. 💚

Old champagne from certain vintages will sell for much higher than you may think. Say you bought the bottle for $100, If the vintage that year was good, then 30 years later, You're looking at return of 5x or 10x. If it was a bad year, your return is closer to a 2x or 4x.
Luckily for you, 1995 was a good year, and the current selling price for one is between $300 and $1000, depending on how desperately you want one.
Having them sealed in box will add on more value as well.

Lol! That bottle of 4711 can be found everywhere! It was one of the first large scale commercially available eau de colognes in history, it's from Germany and has been produced since 1799. It has a fresh, citrusy, slighty woody fragrance with a short throw that fades very quickly. The best way to use it is in summer when you are feeling hot and sticky, you dash some on a cloth hanky and wipe down your neck and ears, it's super refreshing with it's cooling effect and light smell. If you've never used it, try it! You can still buy it today and it still has the distinctive blue and gold label.

So many comments giving unsolicited advice about Alex’s sorting process ... so here’s my 2 cents.
It seems like Patrick is a good worker that could be used more effectively. It might be worthwhile to have the helpers (Patrick, Melissa and the kids) each have a table to empty boxes onto so that Alex can just quickly pick the items he thinks have value and the helper(s) can then deal with the charity and trash.

The silver and shell serving spoon ( just the shells) takes baking soda damp cloth and keeps dipping into soda it will take all of the scratches out and Formica burns, water, baking soda, and salt. You can really do a lot of things . And please look under the furniture drawers my grandparents used to tape envelopes under the drawers with thousands of dollars in the drawers older people didn't trust banks check out old ace bandages rolled up and socks my grandpa once showed me 50,000 rolled in an ace bandage. Just a little fuel for thought We salvagers have to stick together, oh and with a gloved hand I don't like black widow spiders check in old boots my poppa did that too Gosh there are so many hiding places to hide money and real jewelry I will get back in touch to you. Happy hunting, Debi
