Hello Allisha, you did the right thing. I guess soon, we all have a world of people with tinnitus. Concerts are louder and louder, and even a person with healthy hearing will have hear damage and tinnitus. Governments should, sooner then later, legislate and impose decibel limits. You are a warrior just for trying Allisha. TC and stay strong.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Governments indeed should take action and they should do it now. Luckily, here in the Netherlands I do feel that there is more awareness now than compared to a couple of years ago. But it's still not enough :( Thank you for calling me a warrior ❤ I am trying to look back on the experience with a proud feeling, but it's still a little difficult. So thank you, it means a lot!
Thank you so much for making this video and series ♡ it really resonates with me since I am going through similar things at the moment. I am actually planning on going to the NCT Dream concert tomorrow in Rotterdam, which I have been so lucky to be able to attend and I'm so excited for, however I have the same devil and angel dialogue as you mentioned and of course there is a lot of uncertainty which I am trying to navigate through. You definitely should be proud of yourself, not only for going but most importantly also for not second guessing your instincts when you knew you reached your limit and then protecting yourself the way you did. That is really commendable because there are still times in the years I've had tinnitus where it might take me a while to admit to myself, and others around me that may not know of my condition, that I need to take a step back - there is a lot of strength in that. Love your positive and humorous attitude and I hope that this series is providing as much value to you as an outlet as it is to me and your other viewers! We're in this ride together and we're killing it ;)💜
Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words (also, are you Dutch hehe?) I hope you have a lot of fun today, but that you also make sure that your ears are safe ❤ And whatever the outcome, you can be proud of yourself! The fact that you are also trying to go to a concert is so difficult and that is something that is hard for people to understand, but I understand! So try and when you're like: omg I don't know about this, I'm scared, it's mooorreeee than okay to go home. Ofcourse when I tried going to Blackpink, I was really sad afterwards, but now I feel really proud. Things are just different now, and that's okay ❤
@@allishamylene Thank you for your advice, your words were really reassuring to read on the day and hehehe I'm Greek but I've been living here for some years! The concert also went really well :') as you have been advising, it is definitely worth it to try and judge from there because we're all different and may be simply missing out from fear. The specific venue seemed to keep their sound levels controlled cause I could barely feel the bass through my body but I had made sure to double protect initially (35 + 35db) before adjusting based on how I felt. Also, an audiologist had told me beforehand that Rotterdam Ahoy is better compared to some other places like Paradiso in Amsterdam which reflects a lot of sound inside - so it def goes case by case.
@ I’m so happy to hear this!! I also didn’t know that it can be so different venue wise, omg!! But I’m so excited and happy for you that it went well! Also, can I ask you what kind of hearing protection you used? Because 35db sounds amaaaazing ❤️❤️❤️
@@allishamylene So, I had brought with me these custom earplugs with 27db filters (which in hindsight could have worked and would have def provided better sound quality) but since I was nervous cause it was my first concert, I also brought 35db foam plugs with me which on the package said they were intended for music and parties (Ohropax color from etos). On top of those, I also wore 3M 35db muffs which I only used in the beginning. I could still hear very well when the concert was playing but just a tad bit muffled and obv way quieter so it is not as immersive - but still worth it! You can also get 35db plugs if you get custom ones made without a filter, however, those will be more expensive but are reusable and will also give a good seal. I'm not sure whether you had mentioned it in this video or another one from your tinnitus series, but I just recently found out that the rating that is written on the earplugs e.g. NNR = 25 does not mean that there is a reduction of 25db but that it's around 10 in actuality because there's this equation you need to use on the rating used on the box. Also, when you add muffs, the decibel ratings are not added to each other but rather, there is just some extra protection - I've read around 5db online. I still noticed a difference when wearing muffs so I would still recommend them in case it's extremely loud. Having said all this though, I think it's good to keep this in mind and bring different options but definitely not fixate too much on the ratings but mainly on how you feel. Hope this is helpful and sorry for the spam!!
@ thank you so much!! It’s definitely not spam!! I love it when we are able to help each other out!! I’ll look into the NNR, I had no clue about that. Is it okay for me to reach out when I have another question? You are kind of my hero now, because you went to a concert hihi ❤️
Hi i am from ,india 🇮🇳 Last 9 month i am also suffering from tinnitus Please don't cry you did right , i watch your all tinnitus videos it motivated me , to deal with tinntus , ur my inspiration 👍
I just got tinnitus 3 months ago😭and I feel like my life is ruined. I love going to the movies and now I will never be able too or knowing I won’t hear silence makes me devastated. Have you habituated we’re you don’t notice your tinnitus anymore?
@@blancacasillas8226 it's take time , stay strong , 1 year with tinnitus instarting 6 month very frustrated now I am habituated , now sound ringing are not going anywhere but it doesn't bother me ,
You’re a beautiful soul and person. I have watched your videos and commend your courage. You give so much strength and the will to keep moving on. It matters so much to so many people. Hope you keep making videos for all of us and we smile more often ❤
You’re making me cry 🥹❤️ Thank you for writing such a sweet a message. It makes me happy to know that I’m helping others. It’s one of the only positive things about having Tinnitus. Thank you!
You did the right thing , not worth the suffering of getting worse tinnitus , how many people got tinnitus because of that concert is probably many - lack of education , there should be a law with regards to loudness in concert - these people are gonna get sued for millions soon , destroying lives , well done for doing the right thing , you have a sense for these things , we tinnitus people have this sense when it comes to volume.
Wishing everyone a happy christmas 🎄 I really hoped this video was going to be a cheerful one, but unfortunately it isn't. Still I hope that you learn something from it and I personally still hope that I get to see BLACKPINK one day. Who knows :D
I’m in this exact predicament today. I have tickets to go see Taylor Swift tonight. My birthday is tomorrow so obviously the last thing I want to do is damage myself severely just in time for my bday. But I’d really like to at least try. I’ve had tinnitus for 5yrs. No idea what I should do. Was considering selling the ticket to avoid going. Idk
It is almost the same indeed... What I would do, is go to the show. Be really close to the exit and have your earplugs in! I don't know if you have an arranged seat, but don't go sit there right away. Be as close as possible to the exit door. Right when the concert is starting, you'll exactly know within seconds if you are able to stay or not. Be proud of yourself for trying, no matter the outcome. But always put your health first! When in doubt, leave the concert. You know in your heart what the right choice will be and you will never regret that decision. Remember: The most important thing in this world is your health ❤
