Guys! The correct date for the giveaway winner announcement is 5/24/22! My mom-brain did it again, thanks for understanding 🥴
I can definitely see a difference! I just started cocoshine and I’m hoping I have similar results!
I’ve been waiting for this update, as well! I do think I see a difference, slightly more opaque - even with the difference in lighting :). I look forward to your 6 month update! 🪥
Totally working. I had huge lines down my teeth and they felt super gritty. I’ve been using risewell toothpaste for 1 week and they’re already smoothing out and all my sensitivity is gone.
Very few will dare to showcase their original teeth photograph & very few indeed remember& create such follow up review after two months or so.
keep up such good work! Kudos to you 👍
I’m actually working on my six month update so stay tuned for that this week!
I got 2 tubes after this video and im so excited to see results. I definitely see a slight difference in the after. Ive heard numerous users say it takes 2 full tubes to see clear & distinct results (so like 5-6 months). I saw the back says to not spit out because it works via contact time but you mentioned spitting out is important to get the plaque out of your mouth. So in the PM every night after brush+rinse, I apply a new thin layer again to my teeth, don't have Invisalign so I hope it stays for a little bit.
Love it! Yep I’m almost done with my first tube, already ordered the second. Excited to do an update!
I totally see the difference! So much less translucent on the second one! Im impressed!
Is it better than risewell or dr. Jen?
Yes, I do see a slight difference. Thank you for sharing. I will definitely invest in that type of toothpaste
I had the sound turned off while I was in between removing my AirPods, so when I looked at the screen again I did not know which photo was which from your voice or from your cue-up, but I was SHOCKED at the difference in your teeth in just two short months!! Wow wow WOWWWW! I am starting my own hydroxyapatite journey and do have some “before” pics I could use for myself, so maybe one day I’ll look into the comparison for my own progress as well… Anyway GREAT JOB for taking this leap and even GREATER JOB for bringing the world along with you! 🥰 Alayna in Olympia
Thanks for watching!
I just started using the David brand of HA toothpaste in the last two days after getting both tubes from Amazon...the expected time to get full benefits is about 4 months with use x 2 a day.
Interesting, let me know if you see results in 4 months! I’ve been getting feedback about boka that full benefits happen around 11 months. I’m approaching 6 months and seeing a difference! 4 months would be even better :)
Have been waiting for the update! 😍 I definitely see a difference!
I've been using Boka for over a year with great results. I like the fact that I don't have to rinse after brushing. Now I'm I interested to try Risewell (I think that's the name) 😊
I got risewell for my toddler! For the birthday cake flavor :)
Does Risewell have the same remineralizing ingredient? Also, is there any issue with the vegetable glycerin in Boka?
Boka also has a birthday cake flavor
Thank you for your videos on hydroxyapatite toothpaste (Boka). Your results seem positive. I did some research for about 2 months and found out that a 5-7 percent nano-hydroxyapatite is recommended. I recently purchased a 10% nano-hydroxyapatite toothpaste (elims). I’ve heard reviews about Boka however it does not list the nHA percentage. I can’t wait on your 6mon. nHA milestone!
P.s. the websites for the nHA sate that their toothpaste has not been researched and approved of its claims. The Japanese nHA have been researched and approved.
oh interesting, i didn't know about the specific percentage! on your PS note, do you mean Boka was not researched/approved? could you tell me what website this is? I definitely want to check it out! and what japanese brands have been approved/where does it show this? thanks!
I would like to know as well please!
I think diet makes a huge difference as a well. I took some Bone Restore supplements and noticed huge difference in my Nail health and my Tooth Health as well as using Boka Mouthwash/Toothpaste. Although one should take caution while taking any calcium supplements.
After spending over 10k on dentistry, I switched to a Japanese version of this toothpaste and haven't had a significant need to see the dentist in 10 years.
This combined with reducing soda intake has stopped teeth that were previously crumbling in their tracks. All my fillings hold strong now.
Aside from all of that, lack of toothpain is enough to keep this toothpaste forever as far as I'm concerned.
Nice, what Japanese toothpaste is it?
@@askahygienist Apagard, I am convinced to stick with the Japanese brand. Davids is 125% abrasive, not sure about Boka here but with Apagard you cannot know the ingredients unless you read Japanese. I have used it and I do see some minor results. I like it, but it is expensive.
@@chrisvdd000 what kind of toothpaste u use that it is expensive??
What brand of Japanese toothpaste? I am looking for something that recalcifies/remineralize teeth to heal the fissures in my teeth due to grinding.
I used "Premio" for years by Apagard.
Lately an food/toiletries product barcode scanner called Yuka suggested that has an emulsifier that may increase what gets absorbed into the bloodstream (like washed off debris)
The app suggested a cheap organic alternative instead by BOKA called "Cocon Ginger Toothpaste" that is a good price on amazon. I currently switch between the two(and will probably continue with the BOKA brand after.
Also you will likely need to cut out a lot of sugar (or brush right after), human saliva has a enzyme called amylase that starts to break sugars down, unfortunately to an acid that destroys enamel.
Looking forward to the 6 month update! 🪥
I’ve been using same BOKA HA toothpaste. I reserve judgement. I plan to use the toothpaste for 6 months-year. Don’t believe two months is long enough. I don’t see a difference in your photos, nor my own teeth. Will wait to see.
I did a 6 month update video as well. In my opinion, minimal difference. I have since moved on the other brands and am currently loving Dr. Jen’s with their 10% nano hydroxyapatite formula. If you go on their website you can try the code KRISTINA84217 for a discount!
It really works wonders for senstivity, esp if you are having your teeth whitened. It's been proven more effective than fluoride for remineralizing teeth when using peroxide to whiten. My own experience was this exactly.
PS. You have really nice teeth.
PPS. Don't rinse mouth after brushing. Just spit.
I've just stumbled upon the goodness that is hydroxyapatite and I've been binge watching videos on it tonight! I'm glad I found your video/channel! Maybe it's just me, but it helps to know that you are in favor of this as a hygienist yourself! Thanks for sharing your results with us!🦷🖌 P.s. I don't have that same emoji on my phone so these were the next best thing 🙈😁😂
Haha thanks for trying with the emoji! I’ll accept that :) you can also try typing “toothbrush” when searching for emoji. Glad you found my channel/video helpful!
@@askahygienist 😂 Thank you! I have an Android phone and that's what came up when I typed in "toothbrush"
@@kayking3313 haha fair enough!
I think I see a difference. It is important to use a toothpaste that is free of GLYCERIN. It coats the teeth with stickiness and prevents remineralization. All toothpastes contain it. I've been using olive oil bar soap that doesn't have glycerin, for several months now and my teeth are cleaner.
All toothpastes do not contain glycerin. I only buy toothpastes that don't have glycerin or flouride.
Thanks for this! I can see a difference! I’m going to try the boka. Was thinking of risewell but the n-HA got me 😂
My back teeth hurt a little and they are weak, I used the cream the first two nights and the pain disappeared, my tooth feels stronger than before, I know it is too early to tell but I am surprised
Definitely a difference. Only 2 months, that's pretty good
I can see the difference! That's pretty awesome I just ordered mine too. So I'll be trying this out.
I saw a slight difference, the upper edges did seem to get denser (less opaque). I have the same brand of toothpaste, love that it doesnt need water or rinsing afterwards lol. Is hydroxypatite based pastes okay to use to brush on your tongue too?
I don’t see why not!
i see your teeth are gettng brighter more solid . so the toothpaste is helping
Defiantly I see a difference. I have a tube of bio repair I have not tried it because my dentist wants me to use fluoride toothpaste. However I want to add it to my routine and use fluoride 1x per day and the Hydroxyapatite 1x per day.
Any feedback?
LMK
Peter
well the before pictures seem slightly darker by light than the pictures after, so this make look like the teeth are slightly whiter..mostly for a person it is better to notice any difference by yourself, you feel the differences and also you will notice tiny changes better than a stranger I guess.. if you choose a toothpaste it is better to watch out for all those other aggressive ingredients (like SLS ) who will harm your teeth more even there is a good ingredient to it :)
Definitely
Oh wow, thank you for this tip, Kristina! I need this but my husband needs it most because his teeth are very sensitive. This is really valuable information and I am definitely looking into it !
So I've been using Boka for a month now and just got an SRP and the left side that got cleaned doesn't feel that much different from my right side (which is getting done next week). I think that's a good thing? My gums didn't bleed as much as I thought they would either. The toothbrush from Boka saved me though b/c I had my wisdom all removed 1.5 weeks ago and the soft bristles really helped with my brushing. The toothpaste was also great because I wasn't supposed to spit or rinse for the first week or so and it really really helped to have that toothpaste! Just wanted to give an update!
yes the not seen caveats stoped and fillet again nice job
Would love a 6month update!!
Currently working on it, stay tuned!
I have a full 4 OZ bottle of pure nano hydroxyapatite. It’s from Fluid Nova who sells to all the toothpaste companies. There are no directions and I don’t want to just use it on my teeth undiluted.
Pure nano hap is meant to be mixed into toothpaste as an active ingredient, definitely not to be used in concentrated form. I would contact wherever you got the bottle from for instructions before using.
Yeah, I think it is working.
Been waiting for the update. That's what made subscribe. But I I really like your channel and the info you put out. I definitely think there is a difference. Boka is unfortunately not available in Europe would love to try it. I bought some other hydroxyapatite toothpaste that's available here but have been hesitant to switch. We have been so brainwashed all our live to believe that fluoride is the only way to go 😂. What are your thoughts on combining the two? Maybe just putting some hydroxyapatite toothpaste on the teeth before my night guard?
If you are hesitant I understand; you can definitely put some on your teeth overnight in addition to your regular routine!
You have such a perfect model face for this.
i am allergic to baking soda and fluoride would this be good to use?
This toothpaste does not contain either so I think it would work!
What do you think about Boka's electric toothbrush with activated-charcoal bristle head? I was considering getting the Boka kit so I have everything I need. Thanks for your videos, I found them helpful!
Honestly I wasn’t aware they have a whole line of products including an electric brush lol. I’ll have to look into it!
Can I rinse right after brushing with this Toothpaste?
What I normally do is floss, mouthwash, rinse, brush, rinse
Yes you can rinse after brushing. If you want the effects of the toothpaste to last longer, after you are done with your routine including a rinse at the end, you can go back with a little toothpaste and spread it on your teeth with your finger and leave it on overnight.
@@askahygienist I'm scared I might swallow it lol
@@askahygienist I've been leaving the paste in my mouth for 15 mins, is that ok? Will 10 mins be alright even?
@@MrEgg- it's non-toxic, so I have been leaving it on overnight; 15 min is ok, too!
@@askahygienist thanks for these responses, much appreciated!
isnt it recommend to use nano Hydroxyapatite
Yes it’s been a while since my first encounter with hydroxyapatite, I have learned much lol. I’m currently using Dr. Jen’s toothpaste and am really liking the results! Uses nano and 10%.
@@askahygienist ok nice nice
I actually see a huge difference
Stay tuned, 6 month update coming later this week!
There is a definite difference. Subtle but definite 👍 Personally Curaprox Be You is even better on my teeth
Why not put the before and after picture, one on top and one on bottom to more easily compare?
If you watch my 6 month update, I do just that! ruclips.net/video/VzUUQw2o4sU/видео.html
I said one was less translucent than the other. Then you said it, so yeah, I agree with you LOL praise God.
How does biomin f compare to nanohydroxyapatite?
Biomin F is a mixture of calcium and phosphate along with fluoride added. Hydroxyapatite is the product of calcium and phosphate mixed together. I haven’t found any research yet on the difference in efficacy of hydroxyapatite vs calcium and phosphate ions, I’ll keep digging.
I used Biomin F & C and ended up going to Biorepair plus which was way better for me.
Apadent и Apagard мои фавориты!
Are your teeth looking less transparent now? 😊 can you give update?
I’ll be doing an update in September :)
😊
How are your teeth now? Still using this toothpaste?
I am still using hydroxyapatite toothpaste but no longer Boka. I used David’s toothpaste for about a month and switched to Dr. Jen’s. So far I’m really liking it, it’s helped most noticeably with sensitivity.
Do you get the benefit if you rinse you mouth out with water after brushing?
Not really, which is why 2 minute brush time is recommended, and after you rinse out all the plaque you just brushed off, you can oggo back and reapply fresh toothpaste on your teeth overnight for example.
Great video!! 🦷
After six months should be more clear difference if it will be, lets see : )
Giant teeth are going to eat meeeee! ARRRGGGHHH!
You should just spit out the paste, don't use water after, that way hydroxyapatite stays longer on teeth.
Hm, but then all the plaque that you just brushed off also stays in your mouth. I would rather rinse it all out and then apply fresh toothpaste onto clean teeth.
Thank you for making these videos, but I am really wanting a dentist or hygienist to explain to me why I (and millions of other people) have to come to Google or RUclips in order for a dentist to actually teach us about taking care of our teeth? I feel like the MAJORITY of dental practices are very negligent in the sense that they intentionally withhold a lot of important or helpful information. Most are quick to recommend invasive procedures while either downplaying the risks or completely neglecting to inform you about them. Honestly, it’s made me very distrusting of dentists.
I’m so sorry and I agree :/ I think unfortunately the way dental offices are structured, we get stuck on autopilot,
focusing on actual treatment and services and forgetting we are dealing with real people with real problems who need to be heard and need to be educated.
@@askahygienist well thank you for at least acknowledging it lol. I haven’t been to a dentist in years (for reasons I spoke about), so I haven’t been able to ask a dentist this. But why do they suggest fluoride cleanings for kids teeth but not adults? Last time I got a teeth cleaning expecting them to put fluoride on my teeth. the hygienist told me they only do that on kids teeth?? Soo, a 6 year old needs strong temporary baby teeth, but my adult teeth that are supposed to last me until I die don’t need to be strengthened with fluoride??
@@covegirl06 great question. By the time kids are 6 they usually start getting their permanent teeth in, but flossing/brushing is not well-established, and kids are more prone to the cavity-causing bacteria, so fluoride is more highly recommended for kids. As we transition to adulthood, bacterial composition generally changes to being more prone to tartar buildup, not so much cavities (although some adults still are very much prone to cavities, we still use/offer fluoride for adults). Bottom line, there are some general rules of thumb to follow but it should always be on a case by case basis. Some kids who have been exposed to a lot of systemic fluoride (drinking highly fluoridated water) we would forgo fluoride because it would be overkill. And vice versa for adults.
@@askahygienist I thought fluoride was used to strengthen teeth enamel, not fight cavity causing “bacteria”? What is this cavity causing bacteria called anyway? Apparently toothpaste companies think adults need fluoride because it’s in almost every adult tooth paste. Not like they *decrease* the amount of fluoride in adult toothpaste. And not every adult is prone to tartar build up, obviously. I’m not. The dentist can *literally* look in the patients mouth and tell if they’re prone to tartar build up. Isn’t that why they examine your teeth to begin with? To see what your *UNIQUE* problem is??? No??? Lastly, how would dentist even assess who’s been drinking too much fluoridated tap water and don’t need anymore fluoride? What exactly would they be looking for determine that?
Twitter shared it.
I used that type of toothpaste all the time in japan and never had a cavity. Then I come back to America and had tons of problems using American toothpaste so i just order my Japanese toothpaste online. American toothpaste and water are crap.
Interesting comment about the water, definitely water quality plays a big role in oral health, especially if it’s more acidic. Glad you can order stuff from Japan online!
All those brands are not good not transparent Fygg is the only thing on the market that works
I currently use Dr. Jen’s and am happy with the results! I’m also ok with NOBS toothpaste tablets. Both shared info with me freely on their concentration, etc.
Your teeth are translucent... Is that fluorosis or from whitening abrasives? Personally i think mainstream toothpaste is too abrasive and more damaging than its beneficial.
Fluorosis has a different appearance on teeth. I think it’s from whitening and maybe some sort of acidity/pH factor, and possibly some genetics.. I’m finding out some of my family members have similar appearance of teeth..
@@askahygienist i looked it up. Its lack of enamel. Have u you ever tried cell salts? Or taking minerals? Cell salts can clear up small cavities so maybe they can restore enamel? Maybe the hydroxyapatite can restore it?
Thank you for the update! I suppose it could be a trick of the light but to me your teeth definitely look more opaque. Looking forward to future updates as well! 🪥🪥
Just found out about this kind of toothpaste and I would love to try it out! 🪥
I would love to try this 🪥
I actually brought a apagard premio brand on Shopee (a shopping platform in Malaysia) 2 years ago. I was excited and started using it. I didn't feel any difference after 3 months. Then after 3 months when I want to buy back from the same vendor, they were so many reviews saying the apagard sold there is fake and tubes were actually opened and sealed wrongly or the barcode was faked, etc. I felt sad and cheated, but that time my teeth was okay, so I just switched back to my Colgate.
Your video just randomly showed up at my feed. Maybe it's time to give apagard a try again? 😁🦷🪥
Get Boka, the ginger type.
Will definitely be checking out this toothpaste. I need something to help with translucency. What are your thoughts on 1.1% NaF toothpaste, just for sensitivity or do you think it helps with translucency? 💜🦷🪥
Good question; I think the way fluoride toothpaste works is it just patches from the outside and doesn’t actually rebuild from the inside out. I’m not sure how well it helps with translucency. I’ll dig around and come back to you.
🪥I've been waiting for the update. I can't believe it has already been 2 months. I can't wait for the 6mo update. 🪥
Is the winner announcement today the 17th or next week the 27th?
Oh my goodness did I put the wrong date in the video?? Thanks for the catch! I mean next Tuesday! 5/24/22 I’ll pin the correct date at the top of the comments.
Yeay, another giveaway...)) 🪥🪥🪥
And yes, I can see the difference too. I think it works.
