Mohideen Beg was a lovely man with a lovely voice. He made Sri Lanka his home for much more than half a century when he came here as a young lad, and we were honoured to have him as a family friend. I loved his style of singing.

I am talking of the first cassette to be released when JRJ came into power in 1977. The Baig/Lata audio cassette was a super-hit and had all the best songs including "Premalokaya nivi giya" "Thaniwai Upanne " , "Game Godey ", "Pem Mal Mala" etc ..

What do you think of this movie (if you've seen it)? I wonder if it's a well-made film like Podi Putha since it was based on an original Sri Lankan stageplay.

Sorry Upendra I have not seen this movie. To be honest, them days creations were mostly gone by the popular Hindi songs/melodies/copies so I would not think the script would have an impact that much. By the way, are you talking about 'Mage Putha'?
