I have recently come to faith and have found myself becoming a budding bible nerd, I love the CSB for being the in between ground for what I like in the ESV and the NLT, it’s amazing being new to the bible and seeing such strong opinions on what I see as what should be plain, the best bible translation is the one that gives people His word in a way that is digestible and enjoyable for them personally. Videos like yours really help and this one in particular is so good for newer followers who are susceptible in getting caught up in the fray of debates like these. Thank you for being open and welcoming, this is what Christianity should look like. God bless you, brother.

@ I came to faith through prayer. I would have called myself agnostic most of my life and recently asked God for a sign of His presence and for guidance in a very lost period, and got a very strong physical feeling I’ve never had before wash over me following which I had things happen in my life that were in direct reply to my prayer, after that I can only devote myself to Him and his word. Were you lifelong or late to faith? I’m 36 and find it amazing the people I’m meeting who came to faith later in life and then so appreciative of the seasoned followers who are aiding in my journey.

@brunchfordays dude that is so cool! I was born and raised in a Christian household, but I didn't really start taking my faith seriously until about 6 years ago. It started when I heard a Bible teacher saying that you should "make the Bible your hobby". Once I started doing that I really started to take my walk seriously. I too am amazed by people that come to Faith later on in life. I'm still pretty young (I'm only about 28), praise God that he works his ways among Us.
Also by the way, there's plenty more room in the church for another "budding Bible nerd" lol. If there's any videos you want in particular let me know and I'll make one for you.

Here are five Bible verses about grace and meeting people where they are, focusing on unity and love:
    1. 1 Corinthians 9:22
"To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some."
Paul demonstrates the importance of empathy and adaptability in reaching others with the love of Christ.
    2. Romans 15:7
"Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God."
This verse emphasizes welcoming others without judgment, reflecting Christ’s acceptance of us.
    3. Ephesians 4:2-3
"Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."
It highlights grace, patience, and the effort to maintain unity in relationships.
    4. Colossians 4:5-6
"Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."
Paul advises believers to engage others with grace and respect, promoting understanding rather than division.
    5. John 13:34-35
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
Jesus calls for love as the defining mark of His followers, transcending differences and disagreements.
These verses encourage grace-filled interactions and emphasize loving people where they are, as Christ does.

this is because in "today's world"... everyone wants to "do their own thing"... and to be "the masters pf their OWN fate".. that is why a translation that was considered.. "perfect" for centuries... has come under so much scrutiny today..... everyone wants to re-invent the wheel..
I was brought up as a Catholic... but by the time I was 16.. I fell away from their teachings.. I was practically God less for 25 years... then in 1995 I walked into a bible believing church and I knew what was missing in my life...I accepted the Lord as my Savior but during those early years....due to the pastor at that church I vacillated back and forth between the KJV and the NKJV.. since our pastor did not stress any difference much between the two...
then in 2006 I listened to a series.. that shook my world.. that showed me the differences between the two... I have been a KJV Onlyist ever since..
please do not waiver in YOUR love for the KJV... it is STILL the best translation IMO..

In no way am I KIV only. It was archaic when written and was itself a revision of previous translations.
The writings of the Bible are written to communicate - they're reasonably accessible and not written in an otherworldly idiom.
I think most believers would struggle reading the KJV.
In some places language itself has altered and over time there have been textual and other discoveries.
One area I come back to the KJV however is it is very helpful to compare it to the Greek New Testament when reading in Greek because although archaic I find it strangely faithful to the original. That is it adopts a literalistic translation philosophy.
Faithfulmess and literalness sound like good concepts but as we all know that isn't necessarily desirable for a believer. Such a translation is often stiff and wooden.

Amen, brother! 😊 And your video shows you're a mature man of the Lord (though of course all of us always continue to mature for our entire lives and the most mature often sincerely believe they're the least mature). That's largely because you have responded so graciously to even the most aggressive and belligerent KJV Only proponents. Judge by their fruits: fruits of anger and division and overly harsh judgmentalism and so forth are not fruits of the Spirit, whereas calls for bearing with the weak, respecting and even loving others even if they believe we are "enemies", and so forth are fruits of the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 13:1-13 NIV - If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Sadly, there are some very immature believers on BOTH sides of the fence. Keep in mind, not everyone in these debates are there for the right reasons. There are trolls that couldn't care less, I've even come across unbelievers that pretend otherwise, just to stir the pot because they have nothing better to do. Satan is all too happy to provide those in every way he can. He is the author of confusion.
As a KJV preferred believer, depending who distributes the label, I love my bible. I trust it 100%, regardless what Mark Ward or any other self-ascribed scholar says about it. Who gave HIM or anyone else the authority to say these older, tried and trued bibles are ready for the scrap heap? I wonder what God would say about that? I was an agnostic for most of my life, approx 36 years. (21 years ago) All I had when I got SAVED was my mom's bible and it was KJ. My oldest brother who lived across country told me it would serve me well. To read it, believe it, pray for wisdom and understanding and above all else, to TRUST it. It wasn't years later that I discovered there was such a thing as a debate on translations and he used the KJB exclusively.
One thing I have discovered on my own is that there are way more people pressuring KJB believers that it is old, antiquated, unreliable and simply behind the times. I have even been around people that say they HATE the KJB. Why? Because it has some old words? My bible apps make it easy if I have difficulty with a word. All I have to do is click DEFINE and get multiple possible definitions. Not to mention, who doesn't have easy internet access to look things up in an instant?
We in this country, USA, have dumbed down our children to an extent that is appalling. Many other countries can speak at least two languages fluently. The KJB will define a word itself, if you just take the time to read in context. It tells us how to study it even.
    Isaiah 28:10,12-13 KJV
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: [12] To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. [13] But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
The bible tells us also that there are EASY words, easy concepts to grasp and understand, like salvation and it compares those to MILK. Then there are many others, including prophecy, that are DIFFICULT or HARD to understand, comparing them to MEAT. A hard saying?
    John 6:60 KJV
Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?
The bible is SPIRITUALLY discerned. Only the most basic, the gospel for example, can be understood by unbelievers. Otherwise, how would they get saved? Everyone just wants spoon fed everything in the bible. They have NO patience to study it, to compare scripture with scripture.
I have lovingly discussed this topic for years. God has to open the eyes, just like Jesus did to the blind. All bibles are NOT alike, I don't care who says different. If they do, they are not being honest or they have not studied for themselves. The new versions are put forward as EASIER to read or understand. Maybe God doesn't WANT certain passages to be EASY. How was Satan defeated at the cross? As smart as he was and is, he couldn't see that having Jesus crucified would be his undoing, because God in HIS wisdom hid the DEEP things of God and the Word from him.
    1 Corinthians 2:7-8,10-13 KJV
But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: [8] Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. [10] But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. [11] For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. [12] Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. [13] Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
If anything as a KJB believer, the best I can say to my brothers in Christ that are not. You're really missing out and don't know it. I say that as lovingly and respectfully as I can. My bible has been perfected. (Psalm 12:6-7) It tells me I AM saved, unlike the newer translations that say we are BEING saved, in agreement with every false religion out there. The Mormons believe that we are only saved after we have done EVERYTHING we possibly can on our own first. That is not the gospel in my bible. Is it in yours? The Catholics believe in works, the JW's, 7th Day Adventists, Muslims, the list is endless. My bible doesn't replace the name of our savior with he, him, someone like the newer translations do extensively. I could go on and on but maybe I can make some sense from a mature, well-seasoned, trials-enduring brother in Christ that this is ESSENTIALLY the CORE of what we believe that trust in this ONE book. The middle of the last century almost EVERYONE was KJO. We had many less denominations. Less scandals and division. We have how many newer translations available today? Each new one says IT is the BEST? By who's decision? The ones who translated them in their own words, the ones who seek to gain financially through copyright protection? If we have more and more better translations, why isn't the church getting stronger and not weaker? Why aren't we having GREAT revival instead of apostasy and the churches filling more and more with perversions? Have any of you asked GOD himself which bible he should stick with? Is God the author of confusion instead of Satan that says we really need multiple translations so we can REALLY understand what He is trying to tell us? Even though they all contradict in some form or fashion?
Lastly, my apologies for the length of this already but only the TRUE word of God has any power. Of course Satan is going to come against THAT exclusively. The others he could care less as they are are powerless against him. Jesus defeated him in His temptation by quoting scripture. Was it middle English King James? Of course not. God is the one who preserves His words. Not man. Why is it KJ vs every other translation out there? Why is it never NIV vs NASB, or LSB vs HCSB, etc. There are no NKJV only groups, NIV only, NASB only, NLT only. I have even watched Muslims infiltrate Christian groups and tear many believers up one side and down the other. Always to the ones using newer translations. When I confront them with KJB verses they cry FOWL and say the same things modern "scholars" say. Well those words are NOT in the original Greek and Hebrew, or some other excuse, thereby they are invalid and wrong. I have seen them do it, and to get Christians heads spinning using their own bibles against them to denounce the trinity and other Christian doctrines. Regarding needing to go back to the Greek and Hebrew. Just something to think about. God bless you all for listening to and elder in the Lord.
    Isaiah 28:11 KJV
For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

I LOVE everything you said... and agree with ALL of it 100%.. I have had several dealings with Mark Ward.. as well.. and I have flat out told him in comments that I thought from his videos such as "false friends".. he was doing More harm than good to the KJV community at large.. because he opposes the KJV.. while seemingly back handedly supports it..
I have No use for people like Mark Ward... or James White for that matter... James White is another one that will Not come out and directly protest the KJV but he does what he can to dissuade others from wishing to use it..
Mark Ward is a "false friend".. IMO...
thank you again.. for everything you said...
I wish there were More like you that expressed their love for the KJV vocally.. and in these comments...

I love the King James version as much as the next guy, but KJV only? No.
And I would encourage every KJV only person to read Job 17:6 in the King James version and compare it with every other Bible version they can get their hands on. And then ask themselves: What's wrong with this picture?

King James eventually made it illegal to have any other bible than the KJV. This is why the pilgrims who first settled in America brought with them the Geneva Bible. They were escaping intense religious persecution from King James and his church of England.
That is the main thing I don't like about the King James Bible - the "King James" in its title. God used this king to bring a great bible to the English world, praise God, ... but, King James himself was a brutal tyrant and pure son of perdition. It should have been dedicated to God rather than a tyrannical brute king sitting in the head place of Jesus. It was all about politics, even the need to make a new English version. But it ended up being blessed as a good thing in producing a great English bible and ushering in a common early modern English that would became the new lingua franca for the whole world.
    I like the KJV,
both for its beauty of language,
that I wish we still spoke,
and its word for word translation
that not many others can balance.
    This is why I don't listen;
    I harken instedth. :)

as far as NAME CALLING... I have found More people who disagree with KJV Onlyism.. are prone to call the KJV Onlyists "cultists".. and trash talk like that More so than I have seen instances of KJV Onlyists calling others such names...
the fact that you would address the issue... of name calling is interesting.. but just for the record... I ...as a KJV Onlyist AND a strong Calvinist.. am getting fed up.. with others who do NOT see it my way....telling me.. I am a member of a Cult.. or I am practicing a "cult religion"...
I am ALSO tired of people labelling those.. who read the teachings or comments of Peter Ruckman.. being considered "cultists".. as well..
which I am SURE from watching your Ruckmanism video is how YOU feel as well..
Nice try of turning the shoe and placing it on the other foot by the way... I am sure that many are out there right now saying.. "Yeah. .Yeah.. that is how it is"... after watching this video...BUT... what you are saying is NOT how it is...
some of the MOST unfriendly Christians I have had debates with are those who do NOT use the KJV.. and THEY are the FIRST ones to bring up the word "CULT".. to me...
Name bashing needs to stop on BOTH sides...

The premise of this video is wrong. It is assuming that people who exclusively use the King James Bible are somehow name callers, nasty, hyper-aggressive, etc. While some KJBOs may act that way, to imply that all KJBOs are like that is fallacious. It is also a form of gaslighting on many KJB precisionists and perfectionists, because it delegitimises interacting with people who insist upon the exclusive use of the KJB.
I believe that the primary arguments for the upholding of the KJB as right are doctrinal ones, they are based on Scripture, they are theological. Yet, almost to a man, those on the other side do not engage with (or against) these points, because there is too much focus on peripheral things like bad behaviour, or discussions about textual criticism and translation methodology.
It's easy to make an emotional video about claiming to love the crazy people who fight about the KJB, but the real discussions are almost never had. I think the real discussions connect the authority of Scripture itself (what it says and what it means) with worldview, ideology, philosophical approaches, interpretive methodology and a schema of doctrine/theology.

      Hey man, I love you!
Thanks for commenting. If you watched the video I said that I have no problem with the KJV people who prefer it, my problem is with the people who act unbiblically in their manner regarding personal conduct. I have no issue whatsoever discussing this topic, I do however find it very difficult and hypocritical when some KJV only individuals do not actually want to discuss this issue, on the contrary it is not me who is against discussing these topics, it is the extreme KJV only folks.

@@JohnMiles117 Yes I watched the entire video, I'm not just writing stuff for the sake of it. You claim to be "libertarian", and while of course you don't want your comments section to become an open forum, I just want to challenge the way you are presenting the KJBO side.
I am a strong King James Bible only person who does not behave in a bad way. (I believe the KJB is perfect and that the best Bible for any language is the KJB.)
      1. I have views about what is really the basis and important facets in KJBO doctrine. I am open to discussing them.
      2. I have views about what anti-KJBO people think are important ideas, I am certainly able to express thoughts on those points.
I'm just saying that so as to show that not all KJBOs are bad or unable to be spoken with, and also, I want to counter the perception of a tactic used by some on the anti-KJBO side which essentially is to shut down/ignore/mischaracterise the pro-KJBO side.
FYI I am not inviting or opening a debate/discussion, I'm just laying out that all KJBO is not horrible people. We should be aware of that "no true Scotchman" fallacy too.

@bibleprotector thank you for clarifying your position. Once again let me clarify my position.
      1. I do not think all King James only people are evil or angry or malicious.
      2. I do not hate people that believe the King James Bible is the only inspired perfect word, I understand why someone would come to that conclusion and I do not judge them for that conclusion regardless of whether I agree or disagree.
      3. My comments about ignoring commentators only regard people who are divisive and disruptive and frankly very rude. I'm having this conversation with you because you have a clear and calm demeanor.
I believe that having discussions is valuable, and as I said I do not believe in deleting comments. However I do not believe that yelling at each other is any way to get a task accomplished regardless of whatever the motive is.

@@JohnMiles117 And when you say "all KJO people" obviously we are including the ones who believe things like the KJB is perfect, not just TR or preferred people.
I need to point out to you that I believe that the KJB is perfect. Many KJBOs do NOT believe that the KJB was made by inspiration in 1611 or something. Often I find that people who are "anti-KJBO" are against a kind of strawman KJBO that is made up of ridiculous beliefs and horrible people.
I think a whole discussion can be viewed in this matrix:
      1. What I believe about the Bible/Scripture/reality (My "belief system")
      2. What I believe about the KJB (My "assertions")
      3. What I think your viewpoint is on the Bible/Scripture in general (My "assumptions/assessment" about what you believe as a whole)
      4. What I think of what I understand you think about the KJB (My "counter arguments")
      5. What I think of what I understand you to believe about modern translations (My "conclusions")
      AND
      6. What you believe about the Bible/Scripture/reality (Your "belief system")
      7. What you do believe about the KJB (Your "assertions")
      8. What you think about my viewpoint. (Your "assessment" about what I believe as a whole)
      9. What you don't agree with me about the KJB (Your "counter arguments")
      10. What you think about modern translations (Your "conclusions")
I'm not suggesting whether an actual discussion happens, I am just showing there are two belief systems with specific views about the KJB.
I am sure that the foundation of thinking/theology is where the issue is at, not with the specific issue about the KJB (or modern translations).
In fact, without knowing anything about it, I could go so far to suggest that the two belief systems are really a conflict over how far God has an interventionist role in history as relating to the manifestation/presence of the Scripture. Or to put it another way, how far God has provided a method of interpreting from Scripture how much He reveals in Scripture He has an interventionist role in regards to supplying the same Scripture. (I don't know of anyone who has had that discussion.)

Something I have noticed is that it seems to only be us King James readers who are willing to stand by our bible as the perfect, infallible word of God. I've never seen someone hold up any new translation and say it is God's perfect word. If you don't believe your bible is perfect, then you believe it's imperfect and flawed. How can you trust a book you believe to be flawed?

    • @JohnMiles117

@@tyler11172 thanks for commenting Tyler. I have no problem with somebody taking a stand for what they believe in, rather my issue is the way in which you argue your points, that's what matters. Regarding your question about Bible translations, it really comes down to your definition of "preservation" . I truly believe the Bible is God's perfect word, and I truly believe we haven't lost any of it, however I think that to say that God's perfect word is somehow only encapsulated within the King James Bible is erroneous. This is why textual criticism is so important. Also as good a translation as the King James is, the men who translated it were not perfect. This is why I believe multiple translations are a good thing.

John this one is for you since you recommended the NKJV..
NKJV eliminates deity of Christ proof text. King James 1 John 3:16. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because HE laid down HIS life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. NKJV says By this we know ___ love, __ __ because He laid down His life for us,,
NKJV erases God's Name.. And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Issac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name Jehovah was I not known to them. Exodus 6:3 KJV.
Find Jehovah in the NKJV OR NIV, you can't..
Why God made all things.. Rev: 4:11 KJV says for thy please (God made all things for HIS pleasure) NKJV changes what God said and gives you what you already know.
NKJV hides bible corruption 2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the Word of God. read that in your NKJV says peddling instead of corrupt..
NKJV turns followers of Christ into ACTORS. 1 Corinthians 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. NKJV sats Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ. An imitator is copy cat or an actor.
Are you "saved" or "Being Saved"?
King James 1 Cor 1:18. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
NKJV says For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are "being saved" it is the power of God..
Funny are you saved or lost? Is your Salvation complete now by accepting The Lord Jesus Christ blood atonement for your sins.. Or are you being saved like the Cat holic church teaches..
This doesn't even skim the surface of the corruption..
