Very interesting talk with your Dad. It's encouraging and inspiring to hear how others learned Greek and to see the passion to master the language and to read the Greek New Testament fluently. God is certainly leading! Praise God for teaching us to read His word in the original languages!
I’m 58 years old, I went to Bible College after I got out of the Marine Corps and took my first Greek course in my senior year in 1995. We also used Machen’s Book. I then went to Westminster Theological Seminary in 1996 and took another 2 years of Hebrew and Greek.
Please do more of these sit downs. So good. Great job guys. Your energy and excitement bounces off eachother and so fun to watch. Felt like I was there with you listening in.
I'm very impressed by the dedication especially to the idea of reading grammars as I basically don't think grammar exists. I feel tempted to go through a grammar (or two) in case I'm missing out.
@@cpnlsn88 you definitely should it's one of those things that I feel like sometimes too much emphasis is placed on the grammar to the point where the love of the actual language is lost, however I definitely think it's something that should be looked into because it makes the text so much more powerful
@@puritanpioneer1646 no he isn't reformed lol 😉. Despite getting his Mdiv from Southern Seminary he is not reformed. A. T Robertson was the goat, I couldn't agree more! Ps, you are hands down my favorite reformed commentator lol, keep it up!
@@AncientGreekCI-ol5hh I think it is excellent! I just haven't had a ton of experience with it. I have used it to try and learn the vocabulary, and have had great success with it, but apart from that I haven't used it much. I've Heard great stuff about it though. Have you used it?
@JohnMiles117 Much more enjoyable than reading grammar books and using parsing programs. And more effective. Look into Seamus Macdonald, Benjamin Kantor, Jordash Kiffiak, Randall Buth, Christophe Rico and Alpha with Angela to start with.
@@richiejourney1840So I've complied 4 different courses taught by different people, and I put them in the sight. I chose them because I liked the teaching style of the professors and I liked their grammars. Plummer and Merkle, Bill Mounce, Machen, David Alan Black. It's all free, I just want people to have as much free content as possible!
It was awesome also to hear from Dad. I see he did a wonderful job in inspiring you to learn Greek. I am encouraged to start teaching my kids too.

The more I hear this kind of talk, the more I realize that putting the Word of God into Greek was no mere coincidence.
This is so wholesome!
Thank you for introducing your Dad to us. How awesome that, Dr. Riddle was able to teach for Wallace.
