This proves that we don't need a remake of Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
This is the perfect retelling of Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on stage

can we just appreciate the King being so open minded about the Prince falling in love with a "commoner" and saying how nice it is rather than mocking him for it?

Snow White in this version is so perfect. And I dare say it: better in character than the original movie. Also Dopey in this is on point. Even with a mask on that limits his facial expressions, his quirkiness and slapstick movements makes up for it and it definitely shows. And that curtain call gave me wonderful goosebumps.

This is how you honor Snow White, a love story at its finest! Staying true to the characters and to everyone that holds Snow White, the Seven Dwarfs, the Charming Prince and all of the woodland creatures close to their hearts! I don’t know what the hell Disney is thinking by disgracing their most Iconic Princess by releasing in 2024 a version of Snow White where the idea of Love is absent, Needless to say on the release date of the 2024 version I will honor Snow White by watching this version and staying clear away from the woke loveless version that doesn’t deserve the name of Snow White!

    • @entertainer1987
      @entertainer1987 11 месяцев назад +5

That version looks like a complete utter disaster. It's going to be woke and joyless like the live-action 'Mulan'. Rachel Zegler, who will play Snow White in it, is an extremely arrogant and spoiled brat. She will never hold a candle to Mary Jo Salerno who honored Adriana Caselotti's performance in the animated film with grace.

@@entertainer1987Walt Disney’s admiration for Snow White was so great that he bet the farm on her story, the story of a kind hearted princess looking for her soul mate and with the help of a wishing well and seven courageous strangers and a charming prince her wishes came true, Thank you Mr Disney
Make no doubt about it, at the heart of Disney lies Snow White and she has always been and always will be the Apple of his eye!

I remember being fascinated by the Queen's transformation as a kid and wondering how they did it. Now that I work in theatre, I totally see. The only thing she physically adds to the glass is a little water to activate the dry ice so that the glass smokes. (But just a little so it doesn't accidentally splash her lips)

Mary Jo Salerno will ALWAYS be THE live-action Snow White. She perfectly captures the spirit of the character just the way Walt Disney had envisioned her to be. Rachel Zegler, who will star in the film remake, will NEVER hold a candle to her. She is a crazy woke person who will make Snow White just as or even more liberated than Jessie Spano did in an episode of 'Saved by the Bell'.

I have been searching for this as it has existed only in my memory since I was 3 or 4 years old. Upon watching it I remember every color, motion, the costumes. This is just amazing. Thank you for sharing this. I was wondering if I saw it again, it would appear diminished but no. This is actually as amazing as my earliest memory serves. Just quality through and through.

With Disney's 2024 remake of Snow White in the works with no doubt so many woke elements of addressing dwarfism, damsels in distress being unfitting nowadays and countless more politically correct headaches surely on the horizon, I realize there is so much more to love and adore in this stage performance than all of Disney's deceptive remakes combined.
I personally declare this to be the definitive Snow White remake, and I love it.
This stage performance strikes all the right balances a remake should. The same basic story and characters, but enough notable differences, additions and surprises to make it its own unique gem:
Things happen in a different order, new characters like the King, Luna, village ladies etc. are all great, Dopey learning to talk, more development of the Prince, the Dwarfs ringing the wedding bells and more.
All of this make this is performance truly a wonderful tribute to Walt Disney's first full length animated feature.

Mary Jo Salerno will always be the live-action Snow White to me. She perfectly captures the spirit of how Walt Disney envisioned the character to be. Rachel Zegler, who will play Snow White in the 2024 film, is an extremely woke, in-your-face, liberal anti-police activist. I do not believe she will do the part any justice.

    • @wolffan1515

Yep. And I think Grumpy's backtalk at 52:32 sums up all our perceptions of Zegler's Snow White already.
I wonder if and how Martin Klebba's Grumpy would do that scene.
