  • Hey guys, here we have a 2003 Toyota Highlander and the A/c is blowing warm. The a/c blows warm when the temp is set to full cold! There is this little trick and I am showing you this trick. Try this before you buy a whole HVAC head unit. Enjoy!

Excellent, there is a video on the repair of the ribbon I have done my own and other customers as well. The repair as takes about 45 min to an hour and you do need a soldering gun.

I've resoldered those ribbons, it's no fun. The ribbon is so tiny and stubby. I think if you hold the potentiometer with pliers while snugging up the nut it won't break the ribbon connection. the potentiometer tends to want to rotate if not held steady and I think that's how it breaks, or the solder is already broken and the little bit of rotation that occurs when tightening the nut pulls the ribbon away from the circuit board.

It's pretty common with the HL, I ended up braiding some wires together and replaced the ribbon cable. 8 years later still working like a charm.

If it was completely opposite, I'd just paint new blue and red marks on whichever side corresponds to what it does.
